  • In this video I review Wax Zero, By Vilain's latest hair styling product from their new organic line that officially releases on October 15.
Additionally I talk about how it compares with other popular By Vilain products (Gold Digger, Silver Fox, etc..)
I'll be reviewing several factors: packaging; ingredients; scent; consistency; ease of application; styling; finish; longevity; washability; and price.

Thanks Matt, It's starting to blonde since I colored it the other week. Didn't use proper shampoo at first, but since then picked up intense color 'silver' shampoo. Works pretty good.

Liking gray background better, definitely more pop and less washed out. You could even go a bit more dramatic for the lighting but I think you are on the right track for future videos. Cheers! - Brett

I find all clay products really dry in my hair which makes it hard to style. I am more suited for wax? I am worried that it will go greasy, but I want a matte finish. Any suggestions what i should use? I am Asian with straight hair.

Me personally, I like waxes and pastes better than clay. Like you mentioned clay is super dry. Wax is a bit more pliable and provides a bit more shine. From my experience, the right kind of wax isn't greasy at all and has a nice matte finish. Right now I've been using By Vilain's Gold Digger (shorter to mid-length) and Silver Fox (a bit longer) as my go-tos. Before that I was using Ecru NY's paste and New York Streets waxes. Those are a bit more geared towards shorter hair length, but both are find products as well. Hope that helps!

I disliked your video because, despite this being a pretty thorough review, you somehow made it completely unclear when you actually added the product in your hair because of your editing. Once you got to the styling portion it was completely absent when you actually put the product in. I might assume that you put it in before the heat protectant and blow drying, but that makes no sense.
