Yeah I backed the kickstarter in the last few days of their campaign. I'mma be honest, I've been doing photography for 6 years now and never owned a set of filters, but always wanted too... just was really confused where to start. Then I came across Maven's and they made it pretty easy to understand and also looked like a really high-quality product. So I went ahead and grabbed them as my first ever set of camera filters. I also grabbed the two additional filters, night sky one and the 1/8th diffused filter. Also looking at competitor prices, it seemed like a bargin. I look forward to seeing what I can do with these new filters. I hope they are worth the cost for me.
Interesting video Paul about those filters. I have just purchased the K and F concept nano x magnetic filter set that you talked about in a previous video which is a Christmas present so i haven't tried them yet but I'm sure they will be really good.
Interesting Paul but I’ll be sticking with my Kase magnetic filters. They have never let me down and come from a brand I now trust and have been very well reviewed and used by many professional photographers. I think I read funnily enough that Kase have now developed a colour coding system.
hi bud great video as usual and these filters omg im colour blind with some colours and im using the kase wolverine square filters at moment and struggle to tell which is which between my 6 and 10 stop square filter as same darkness where with these id be able to tell difference between each nd filter only thing is i use a medium rad but not all the time but think these might be grat for me i contatced them myself aand might want me to a review as interested to see what a visually impaired person like myself would find using hese filter but as say great video as usual keep them up and hopefully next year we can try arrane meet up with cameras may even have fuji too
Like the look of those filters paul , looks like a lot of thoughts gone into them . I assume they'll be doing graduation filters to make up the full range . I'll be checking them out
Id love to order these....but waiting till march for shipment is too extreme when ur paying that much money and thats with the discount ....might just go for the k&f
@@paulcomptonpdphotography ok so can i ask if your opinion if u think its worth the wait then u must feel they are better than the k&f magnetic kit...if so how much better im really wanting a magnetic kit so your advice will be very helpful paul
I have seen that too. However I have to say mine are ok at the moment. I don’t know but they may have improved this with the new model. Mine are the older version.
Hey Paul, how does the strength of the lens cap compare to the Kase Wolverine? I’ve actually had mine come off when walking around. This happened two times before (luckily I found the cap) I put them away and went back to my screw on filters. I really love the color coding. Game changer 🙂
Thanks Paul. Looks very interesting. One question that you may be able to answer and it relates to all magnetic systems and ND Grads. How do you manoeuvre the ND Grad to make sure the dark area is in the right place. With Lee type systems you simply push it up and down but I don't know how you do this when the Grad is stuck in place with a magnet. Cheers.
@@paulcomptonpdphotography Good morning Sir, Are you able to do a comparison video between the two? before the great discount that Maven filters have disappears.

@@paulcomptonpdphotography I was a little worried in the video you were very excited by these filters, then after being excited you then said it’s the first time the filter had been on your camera, I take it that was an editing blip (I’ve watch a lot of Maven in the past so I’m happy to support him)
I think that after u pay the posting and inevitable import tax that will wipe out any so called early bird discount so for me will be far too expensive especially waiting 4 months till u get them and trying to get anything solved with warranty outside uk will be difficult as experienced in the past
Let me start by saying how are people going to believe what you say, you already have a comment below saying they bought K&F magnetic filters on the strength of a review you did a few weeks ago. You are clearly excited about the looks, touch and feel of these filters, put the gimmicks aside and tell people why you would choose these over the K&F ones, K&F are much cheaper and do the same job.Just another overpriced filter set which I’m sure you will expect people to go out and buy on your say so. Will wait for the next brand you get sent to you so you can mislead people once again. Look forward to your reply
because people are making new stuff all the time, and things get better... K&F are a goof budget kit i recommend them to people that dont and cant afford the high end ones. these are a different league all together, they will be £400 ish but at the moment on kickstarter they are £350ish so i recommend them over any others FOR NOW
@@paulcomptonpdphotography Thank you for your reply. You have not really answered my question? As I said gimmicks aside why would people want to pay £400 on your say so. You clearly see yourself in the I want to be seen with the best gear category, but would you be the same if you had to pay for it, yes unlike many people you are in that position and I have no problems with that, you do your reviews and if it doesn't pass the test you give it away, and again no problem with that either. When I see something new like this, yes I will have a look, unfortunately some of your content did not stack up, ie; this is not a comparison video then you slap on a Kase filter? We all know this was about what they call Tier 1 zero colour cast, unfortunately your lack of knowledge regarding filters stands out a mile. You did a K&F Concept magnetic filter review a few weeks ago, you said a budget starter kit, if you do your homework properly those filters are made from the same AGC optical glass as these expensive ones, also K&F 28 layers of M.R.C. that's Multi Resistant Coating compared to these being 16 layers MRC. Also K&F ones have the same Nano Hydrophobic surface. I personally think, and don't take this the wrong way, that Big companies rejected your in becoming associated with there product because you are more about brand hopping.
i bought my other filters from other companies that i have used in the past, i have never used the free stuff i get, i give most of that away.. so YES if i never had a set of filter i would buy these.. i think thewy are really good easy to see what you want and colour cast is near zero, best i have seen and used ever
Very clever yet simple idea with the color coding and notches to make filter selection quick and easy. Happy holidays.
its so simple...lol

Maven has a night sky filter? I didn't see that option on the Kickstarter.
@@mrmonday42 Michael (developer) said that he would soon announce another type of filters. He started to sell Maven filters on his site also.
