Hi Veronica, I must say that the f you’re only wanting it for your coloring books, then I don’t really think it’s the best choice. I hardly use mine in my coloring books at all, on the other hand, having it, has given me the chance to start exploring just painting. If you do buy some, my best advice these days, is to rather buy a smallish tube set, then you can easily mix your own colors on a palette.

Thank you for sharing. I have only tried gouache once. Did not realise you could reactivate with water and thought I had ruined my mixing dishes with the dried out gouache. Great so I can now go back to another page thanks so much :)

Thanks Bee, glad I saved your dish. If the paint isn’t nice to work with try leaving the dish in a basin of warm water and you should be able to wash it clean after about an hour.

Thank you for this video. I enjoyed it so much! I tried it this evening. I didn't do a whole page this time but just a few parts of a picture. I really like this technique. Definitely going to do a whole picture at some point. I bought some gouache not too long ago and have plans to try and learn to paint with it. Back in my younger years I oil painted but am interested in learning a less messy form of painting. I definitely would like to watch more gouache coloring or painting. Anything you would enjoy doing. Your voice is so soothing for me to listen to. ❤️

Thanks so much Shelley, I am busy with doing the trees, but life has been happening, so I am a little late in getting the video finished. Hopefully I will have it up tomorrow.

I would very much like to see how you do the trees. I was so glad to see this video because I’ve been wanting to try this in my coloring books for a while now but I’ve been too afraid to start. I think now I could try a simpler image to start and see how I get on.

Hi Heather, thanks for the encouragement. I will start on the trees today and try to post on Saturday.

I have never used gouache in a coloring book. I just finished my first page using acrylic craft paint. I think the gouache covers better...I'd like to see you finish this page. i'd like to see the trees painted as well. It's turning out very nice so far. Thanks so much for sharing this Liz!!

Thanks Valerie. I have used Acrylic on backgrounds and it is also amazing . I have never done a whole page with it, as I don’t have many colors. I think the fact that gouache is rewettable (not sure if such a word exists), is both a plus and a minus. The same goes for Acrylic.

Looks great! I have gouache style images to put in coloring books, but I haven't ever actually painted one with that style!

That sounds interesting. I would love to see when and if you do. Do you draw images yourself? Or are these images you’ve purchased?

Hi Liz, have you tried using a palet knife to mix your paint, rather than your brush. I think you'll save your paint rather than washing it away.
