Hi Liz can you share what sort of book you use for this? Is it a sketchbook? Do you have a link please?
Hi Deborah, I used an old Coloring Book that I didn’t like coloring in. I am really sorry but I can’t even remember what it was called, I bought it in 2016 and I just can’t remember. Basically though, I wouldn’t really recommend it, because I tore a number of pages out, and it’s kind of kept together with washi tape as it is almost falling apart. I recently bought a cute Boho Rainbow composition notebook that’s going to be my next Random Glue Book. I cut about 6 pages out, and am just hoping for the best. I’m going to give you a link for that, but if you have any old coloring or sketch books at home that you don’t want, I would suggest you use one before spending money. Hi, Liz I think your glue book is fun and beautiful. I, too, am just finishing up a random glue book. I think it's my favorite style. Just like some of your pages reflect South Africa, some of mine are very western U.S. Now I'm on to an art journal for awhile. I have so many glue books planned and images ready that I will be back to it before too long I'm sure. Time to catch up on some of your water color videos. Nancy

I can not get on with neocolours either or distress inks. its annoying cos lots of colourists make it look easy 🤔🤔
I’m working on both techniques still, going to be doing a neocolor video again soon, so keep a look out for that. Thanks for both watching and commenting.
@@LizatHome I will keep a look out for that video. I find using neocolours II so hard to use. Distress inks I find impossible. In your video you said you use cream colour for your backgrounds when I put that in amazon search it came up with nail polish items, could you tell me what you meant? Your welcome. @@Fallen5321 I also loved that one. If I remember correctly, I used pan pastels and then my ‘easy cheat’ way of doing bokeh. I have a video on how to do that, I will give you a link, but I can do another video soon if you like, I am always looking for ideas of what to do in my videos.

Hi Liz, have you tried using a palet knife to mix your paint, rather than your brush. I think you'll save your paint rather than washing it away.

I don't use the ink pads - I have no doubt that mine would dry as I don't see me using them often. Th Amazon paper is so difficult to work with (with so many different mediums!), but you saved the background with that gold. It is a cute page!

Thanks for taking the trouble to comment. That's actually a great idea about the paint swatching. I sometimes like to paint little stick figure dolls when I paint swatch, I should do some again on the channel, they are also easy and fun.

Wow Liz! You did a fabulous job on this page. I like the texture and color. Quite amazing! I have one book that has grayscale portraits. I have a bucket full of crayons😂So glad i saw this b/c i don't think i would have known to use those colors together. The solvent really helped blend it nicely. You can only do a limited amount of layering with crayons that's for sure. I have done a few bird images with the crayons and enjoyed it so much! ...see ya soon!🙋🌅🐦

Hi, Liz I love seeing color blending. I don't have plain crayons but I do have Neocolor 2's and colored pencils. I think what you showed would translate to those. I think I may even have a grayscale color book although I don't think it has any portraits in it. Beautiful lady. It was a pleasure hearing your enjoyment as you did this project. Nancy
Thanks so much Nancy. I think it will s easier with pencils, because they blend and layer better. I have never tried with Neocolor 2’s. It would be a challenge to give it a try though. Let me know how you get on. I forgot to link the book, but it’s not a book I would buy again, so I don’t think that I am going to link it.
