‘There’s a pattern’: Douglas Murray issues warning over media fact-checkers

- Author Douglas Murray has identified a “pattern” where Republicans are constantly being fact-checked by the media while they fail to call up the Democrats.
Mr Murray said objectivity in journalism is impossible but at least some media outlets do not hide that they report more on certain issues.
“But these other media, the BBC and ABC and so on, they all do the same thing,” he told Sky News host Rita Panahi.
“They pretend to be impartial fact-checkers. In actual fact, they’re just not that subtly pushing everything in a very specific lockstep, ideological direction.”

Sounding like? It's been a global problem for quite some time. Do to it's global influence, the United States has major impact on the whole world. Institutions like the U.N. and WEF also affects what is going on in our governments world wide. Those institutions have stepped out of the area they were originally supposed to cover and started pushing agendas that have nothing to do with their mandates. We depend on the U.S., U.K., Australia and other major players to keep the western world and, in general, the rest of the world safe from insidious players, but they are actively making us less safe via their global agenda.
The west has enabled the regimes economy (like the CCP) to threaten the peace and stability of the whole world.

I agree. I don't have a problem with the concept of "peer review", which is a necessary part of scientific research and academic publications, but I'm very skeptical about "fack checkers". It assumes that there is this small cadre of people within society who are superior and who can always be relied upon to be on the side of truth, impartiality, and correctitude . Who are those people? Who selects them? How are the identified? And who makes them into angels? Why are they inviolable and untouchable? There is no avenue to argue against a bad "fact check" nor to criticize the "fact checkers".
I'm sorry, but when a "fact check" is done, it's done by a human being. I want to see the full name and qualificiations of the individual who did that "fact check" published alongside the "fact check". Don't give me this crap about an organisation doing a "fact check". Organisations don't "fact check" anything. People do, and they need to be subject to robust scrutiny if they're going to put themselves up on a pedestal like that.

I have never trusted a "fact check" - if you have to attach the word "fact" to something I would question why you need to do that.

Fact checkers have always been political. They have never been fact checkers in the sense that their checking was led by stated facts, they always targeted a person with an opinion to fact check, and then did a poltical job on the fact.
