Come down off your throne and leave your body alone
    Somebody must change
You are the reason I've been waiting so long
    Somebody holds the key,you say
    Chorus :
We're near the end, just ain't got the time
Cause I'm wasted and I can't find my way home
Come down on your throne and leave your body alone
    Somebody must change
You are the reason I've been waiting all these years
    Somebody holds the key
    Chorus X2
    Still lovin' you,
    I ain't done nothing wrong,oh no
But I can't find my way home
Believe me,I can't find my way home
But I can't find my way home
    I ain't done nothing wrong,oh no
But I can't find my way home
    God Bless You!!!

Not true! You are just an old fart that don’t play music and therefore has not kept up with the current music since back when, when it was part of your life. I am also an old fart, play music and have always kept up with the current music and artists. Basically, there are good and bad music during every era including the era Joe Cocker was in. Btw, I was in his gh school.

I saw Joe Cocker at the Atlantic City Pop Festival in 1969. I never heard of him, didn't know who he was, or why was he on stage with the likes of Canned Heat, Jimmy Hendrix, Janis Joplin, etc. Plus it started to rain, and I'm sitting there uncovered with about 100000 other people, thinking "who is this clown? Dose he have cerebral palsy? Doesn't he have anything of his own?

A lot of really big names have done covers. The Beatles, Clapton, Rolling Stones, Canned Heat....the list goes on forever. And a lot of "originals" weren't written by the artist. Carol King, John Denver, amd many more wrote songs for some of the biggest artists. No shame in that. And Cocker was an amazing talent regardless of who wrote the songs, or did them first. Damn I miss him.

Come down off your throne and leave your body alone
    Somebody must change
You are the reason I've been waiting so long
    Somebody holds the key
Well, I'm near the end and I just ain't got the time
And I'm wasted and I can't find my way home
Come down off your throne and leave your body alone
    Somebody must change
You are the reason I've been waiting all this years
    Somebody holds the key
I can't find my way home
But I can't find my way home
But I can't find my way home
But I can't find my way home
Still I can't find my way home
    And I've done nothing wrong

Lucky enough to have seen him when he opened for TP & the Heartbreakers a few years ago. Could anybody cover a tune like Joe? RIP.

First time I heard this was the movie Bennie and Joon. I always loved Joe Cocker and would love imitating his mannerisms when sinnging one of his great songs
