My travel/life partner (45 years!) and I will be fully magnetized first week of July. I am hopeful that will allow us to cross both Yukon and NWT borders...we are both jonesing to get back up there. Thanks again for taking us along on your hikes, something my hip no longer allows me to do is hiking. Muscular injury from an old get run over by a car at 16, as I approach mid 70's its really intruding now. You go ahead, I'll shuffle along in back is my new motto!
Our pleasure to share....we are also expecting to both be fully magnetized (love that) by first week of July...and who knows, we may see you up there! Appreciate the comment(s)! Safe travels! 🚐
Glad to see that you are able to travel further, really enjoyed the park where you stayed and the hiked. We took a walk to one of local beaches yesterday afternoon called Three Cliffs, it’s a bit of a trek from the car park but a stunning coastal view.On the way back home, we stopped at a local pub, sat outside in the sun and enjoyed a pint of Gower Power, a locally brewed beer, which is something only recently that we can now enjoy after months of strict restrictions.Looking forward to seeing further videos from you this summer.Best regard and take care.😁👍🏴
Like the name (and likely taste) of Gower Power 🍺. Hoping things continue to improve for all! We are now in the middle of a “heat dome” in most of BC. Sunny and temperatures in high 30’s or over 40 C in many areas away from the ocean. With us for some time. Already hoping for a few rainy days! Always appreciate the comments! 🚐
It’s rarely busy, well at least in the early part of the day. The new campground is full service, which we typically we don’t need. It looks like the sites will be much closer than in a usual BC Park. We are wondering if they may keep it open in winter? That would be nice! Safe travels! 🚐
Lovely spot. We’re hoping to get out west next summer and you guys are providing great research material! Meanwhile it looks like we’ll be able to get out of Ontario soon, and are considering James Bay (Quebec side) or Gaspé. Have you checked out Airvents for the Promaster? They are louvred vents with bug screens that securely attach to the cab’s side windows and provide lots of airflow when the roof vent is open. We recently got ours for our Coachmen Beyond (Ford Transit). The only place we could find them was eurocampers.com. US$110 (and an unexpected $28 charge at the border) so about $200. And we can safely leave them in when it’s raining (don’t like to leave our pop-out coach windows open in inclement weather). The van still gets hot…it was 34 degrees in there last week sitting in our driveway….but it would have been much worse without them. Fingers crossed, maybe we’ll cross paths next year.
Glad we can be of help! And you can always email us at hikenrv@gmail.com if you ever have a specific area question. If we can help, we will. We actually own the air vents and use them often....as you noted they work quite well. You might see them in use in some of our older videos, but for this trip we just simply forgot. We did use the next day in fact. Wishing you safe travels! An area we would love to visit as well! 🚐
Lemon meringue pie “to go” from the Home Restaurant in Hope is a “must” stop when travelling to the coast. It has become a tradition in our family! Enjoyed your travels....lovely video!
When my kids were young we stopped by at Manning Park for a picnic one ground squirrel jumped up on the table and stole my son’s sandwich, another jumped into the cooler we were being invaded lol needless to say we had to pack up. Looks like great weather and an awesome hike. Enjoy the summer 😎
There are a lot of them (den in groups we think). Haven’t seen any that aggressive, but good to know! Yes, it was a great trip...and as a bit of teaser we just couldn’t go home...literally just turned right instead of left and carried on for another day with no destination planned. Wishing you a great summer as well! 🚐
Lovely video! It must be nice to camp on the river. I agree with you Gordon, the lightning lakes campground is too busy for me too. Have you ever hiked to Flash lake? It is just past lightning lakes along the lightning lakes chain trail. I would like to do Windy Joe but I want to do an easier hike first.
Glad you enjoyed! Yes, we have hiked all the lakes. Nice trip, especially if sunny. Lots of shade! Paddled all as well, except Thunder (if interested we did this in our Fall RV Camping BC video from about 8 months ago). Thanks for the comment and enjoy the trails! Ps...a great easier day at Manning is the Three Brothers trail...you can make it as hard as you like, depending on how far you want to go. Great alpine flowers too, usually best around mid July (may be earlier given the local heat wave this year).
@@hikenrv thanks! I remember when you and Miki did three brothers mountain in 2019, and it looks incredible. I will have to check out that hike as well 😁
Enjoyed the video the first time around, though I did notice the “audio error” (it wasn’t too bad). You lucked out with a great campsite and weather. Someday I want to get up there and try some of that delicious looking pie!
Thank you...we probably could have left it, but thought it best to repost. Yes, loved the site...didn’t really want to leave! If you visit...we can almost guarantee the pie!

We enjoy Mule Deer too, big plus for either is getting a spot next to the river! Discover Camping was supposed to have sent out an email in advance, but we chatted to a few others and no one received....in the end it worked out. Refund 👍
Great video - the hiking footage and the dining footage (and the drinking footage...!) were just lovely. Great vicarious vacation for me!
Glad you enjoyed! It was a great short getaway! Appreciate the comment!

If we can chance to visit Vancouver, I’ll bring you some of this beer over, I am sure you’ll enjoy it.😁👍🍺
Pies looked delicious. Neat that you could enter the fire watch tower.
They truly were! The lookout is quite nice and they have fixed it up a bit over the last few years. Makes for a wonderful winter trip too!
Great that you are out and about. We will try that hike. Thx for the new campground footage.

Amazing view from the fire look out.
We really enjoy it in the winter too...on a sunny day it can get quite warm(ish) inside. And dog friendly!

Thanks to Hik'n RV I bought the vents. They work great, worthwhile investment.
Great that you are able to travel further afield .
Agreed!

@@ScubaSteveCanada thank you.....we have done that, but for whatever reason we stopped or skipped. A great reminder!
Mule Deer is our favorite campground at Manning. I hope Discover Camping refunded your money. We had problems last year with them. Nancy

Check your e-mail spam. Discover Camping e-mailed me about a confirmation and said for some reason all their e-mails were going to spam. Nancy
You were right we found it in spam! Thank you! Surprising as we get other emails regularly from them. Already have the refund!
