I found Sleeping At Last after my Grandmother passed away.. It was the first time that I dealt with such a loss like that. I mean, I lost my Great Grandmother earlier in the decade, but I expected it.. My grandmother's passing was something that came out of nowhere, especially after she was expected to make a full recovery.. I was very close with those set of grandparents. After she passed, I was trying to figure out how to deal with it the best way I could.. And then something told me to click on a Sleeping At Last video.. Maybe it was her showing me something so I can heal. Maybe it was something else.. I don't know.. But when I listened, it wasn't too heavy, nor too somber, but it was just right. Just the right kind of music that touched my heart and soul. It helps when I listen to this music. Especially because 10 months later, my grandfather would pass away. Anytime I listen to a Sleeping At Last, I think of them. I think, "What would they think of this music? Did they somehow make a path for me to listen to this kind of music, so that I can not only heal from the pain of a loss, but also find my true self?" I don't know, but I'm figuring myself out as time goes on, and as I listen to these songs. Thank you Ryan for creating such beautiful music. You connect every walk of life with the pieces you create. They all resonate with someone in someway. I sure hope more people get to listen to you, so they can also heal, or find themselves when they're lost. Thank you..
