I wanted to see the ECU Programing/Coding Function. Just saw a another Video that shows it seem like it's Done Online? I Replaced a Front Steeting Control Module on infiniti Q50 3.7L and want to know if I can Program the Module to the Car. If that's what they Mean By ECU Coding... ??
I have Launch Diagun IV, and Thinkdiag. The menu looks almost exactly the same. I believe they are either same company, or sister companies. Even though they deny this.
I have few questions 1. When I register it the first time, it's gonna install the manufacturer's software like Toyota. 2. Am I gonna be able to access the factory service manual ??
The xtool a30m makes this look like a toy if you need real data. All i seen was generic obd2 data on this and yearly fees. The xtool is about 200 bucks but has no fees at all, does bidirectional control and free resets. It cant do immo or have an option to pay for it. If you know how to really dig into data i suggest checking it out
Lifetime free refers to the basic obd functions. You get those included for the life of the product. You also get the option to redeem one manufacturer software or one maintenance software for free for one year. After that year is over, then you have the options come into play. For option A, you can pay to redeem another year of manufacturer software or maintenance software for the price mentioned.
@@flippingcarsrepairs I love it. Everything for a year and then a small fee after that. If you just have one car or one brand of cars and don’t run a shop, it’s a great tool to have. It’s almost as good as Techstream which is $70 for two days (legally), and other bidirectional scantools also have subscriptions after you buy the tool. This thing saved me a ton of money on a prius ABS actuator/accumulator replacement.
So my question is since I own a Chevy and a Nissan and work on my parents car. I'd have to buy multiple packs for vehicles. To fix and or repair diag stuff. Such as but directional controls. ?
@@BudgetNerd well my buddy biggest gripe being a professional tech is that. I'm confused with if you lose the ability to keep using the full functions for said car after purchase like control vent solenoids etc. Or will I have to pay for the package again just to utilize it. Because if that's the case over time. It would be cheaper for me to just spend the 400 or so on a higher end tablet style. And only pay 2 year subscription to get updates for new makes then it would be to buy these every year. Because I work on all makes and models from time to time. So that would get expensive when I'm doing side work for friends and family is what I'm getting at. Especially if I lose certain functions I'd need.
Let’s ask real questions. Can it reset BMW xDrive adaptation? Is it useful to find parasitic amp draws? Can it code BMW older temp gauge readings? Codes are just codes. Real DYI mechanics need dealer level software and options.
Hi. I do not understand if, when I buy this tool, I get a year of free use of ALL FUNCTIONS for a car brand. Or do I have to buy the special functions (maintenance functions).
You get one free year of one car specific toolset, or a specific type of function for all brands. After that year, you start to pay for those special tools. Normal obd 2 features are free for life.
The normal functions any obd2 scanner would have are always free on this one. It's the advanced (brand/function specific) features that are a subscription.
@@BudgetNerd so when it expires. Your $100 device can only scan for check engine codes because thats what a basic obd2 scanner does. This thing is a waste of money.
There are, but it would cost hundreds and hundreds of dollars to get one that would do what this will do for life. This one is cheaper to get started and could save some people money in the long run. It's not for everyone though.
@@BudgetNerd gotcha, thanks for the response. my dad is redoing a 73 truck and putting an ls99 in it so I was hoping to find one that was a one time fee and hopefully be able to do it offline. He would use it for years to come so it would end up being more economically viable I think
Thinkdiag, Thinkcar is like a scam, it never tells you any where in specifications, that the device will stop all the brands, once the date expires. you left with EOBD, like a ELM327 adapter.

Does it do AbS coding on Benz

Sounds like you would yes. Buying a few makes would still be cheaper than a pro unit that does it all, but just have to do the math.

Yeah you'd have to pay each year to keep the features. As started in the review, this pay model may not work for everyone.
