I went to see him in 1990. His smoke machine set the fire alarm off and we all had to go out into the car park. When we went back inside he came on stage and said it was a good job he wasn't singing Great Balls of Fire!

Back in the day it was not auspicious that Shaky was affiliated with SAW, and yet they came through and made one of his best albums- pure Rockabilly Rock ‘n’ Roll. They didn’t try to make him over. Brilliant. It took me years to get a vinyl copy and I love it. 💕😀

Listening to shakin Stevens reminds me of nights out with grandma, she passed away 15th December 2019 aged 91, R.I.P grandma
