Primitive Fire Straightening - Atlatl Darts
In this video I demonstrate how to fire straighten natural material for use of arrows or darts. I harvested river cane about a month ago and let them all cure tied together to help keep them straight. A simple fire and heat is all you need. Fire straightening is the best choice for fixing the kinks in your cane arrows or darts.

Very nice, What wood are you using for the atlatl darts? I'm trying to make some too but not sure if I should harvest them when they are alive or dead and dry

I’m using river cane. I harvest them green, only takes a couple months for them to cure. Especially if you get em over the fire
