Good advice and I always verify anything I ever read on Flippa about a website. There are some scammers on Flippa. Just the other day I saw an auction that was fake. Meaning they just Photoshopped their earnings. Always look out if they just have a screenshot showing their Adsense earnings. Also, they should be able to verify their traffic to make sure it's actually accurate.
So when you buy a site on Flippa, how would you make money from it when everything is in the previous owner's name?

Its the same advice I've been storing up for the whole of internet, btw. =)

Hi Dan. I know my question is handing you a marketing opportunity, but I still want the answer. I'm one of those people who own old websites that have been online for years and I just stopped being interested in them. Moved on, you know - but I paid for the domain name and hosting is cheap, so they're still online - but making no money. They probably wouldn't even sell on Flippa, since there's no income. Can your system be used to turn one of these old sites (weight loss and health related) into something that at least pays for the domain renewal? And does your 2015 system still work in 2107?

Oh, those niches will sell for sure! Regardless of traffic or income proof. But don't get rid of them :)

Dan, on your advice from the expired domain video. I pulled the trigger this morning on a site on Flippa. The domain name has the keyword phrase that gets 9900 searches a month. 3 years old and content already. Did not pay but $65. I know it is not making much now but I figured I could probably at least make the cost back if I have a problem totally ranking. The backlinks are not very authoritative but in the great words of Doc Brown from Back to the Future. "What the hell!"

I now know what I am going to do. Is Dbsa also an affiliae I can promote. I am revamping my podcast which is called "The Invisible Hand Seller Podcast" a mouthful I know. I think you have a great channel here. It should actually be a show. I just started 4 days ago and I made up two names and purchased it on Godaddy. I knew nothing about flipping domains. I was making them up and putting them on flippa and they were great names too but no one wants them because they are not old and have no traffic. Poor me.

Good question Obrimatjack! A brand new wordpress blog usually takes about 6-12 months before it takes "hold" on the search engine rankings. You will make trickles of traffic and sales before then, but the "good stuff" usually doesn't come in until about the 6-12 month point. You can circumvent this with this method I taught in the video. Also, I recommend you build RUclips channels and Facebook pages for all your affiliate campaigns. These get indexed and ranked WAY quicker!

I can confirm that you can make $1000 with Flippa, even more. BUT it's not fast and you need to have some a lot of skills, either for creating something that can be sold or for buying something that you can use to as business. Reselling doesn't work. 95% of all items on Flippa are overpriced or just scam.

Hey Syed, I am not going to buy this particular site, although its a great one. I have too much stuff on my plate now to take care of building it up to something solid. You should update it yes. The advantage of this technique is it lets you get a huge headstart by getting an already aged domain name. If you get the site cheap enough, it's a huge advantage.

Personally I would not buy unless it's under a year, or the site has many many years of proven income. I believe buying earning affiliate sites is a bit high right now. You can buy the pre-made starter sites from Flippa though. There's an advantage of that.

Hey Roger, good question. It's easy to transfer a site from one web host to another, as long as both are using the Wordpress platform. You can use a simple backup/restore plugin and migrate it over. Once the files are on the new host, simply change the name servers on the domain to your new hosting service. Now it's 100% running on the new hosting service! A new WP theme you should be able to learn and understand within about 15-30 minutes. Hope that helps!

It can be for a number of reasons, that's why it takes a trained eye to find out. Sometimes they are trying to move onto different businesses, sometimes they move on to a different career. Sometimes they need money for an emergency. Sometimes they are trying to capitalize on overvalued assets. Sometimes it's a straight up scam. That's why you need to know what to look for and if you can make sense of the deal.

Hey Smooth Jazz. It really boils down to how interested you are in the niche you are about to attack. I'll tell you that every niche I'm making serious money in has competition. It's a good sign in my opinion. Just be prepared for an initial battle before you are able to go into lazy mode!

Hey Dan, I’m looking at website that has a great domain name and tons of articles but very low traffic and even lower revenue. How do you gauge a website’s income vs it’s amenities?
Personally right now website owners are asking outrageous amounts of money. I see the norm being 20X monthly income. Personally I won't buy sites for anything over a year's income. It takes patience. Eventually when the market crashes, there will be tons of deals to be snatched up. I'm stacking powder for the downturn.

Do you think it would be worth it if I can get the site for under $100 then monetize it? Or is it a necessity for the site to already have traffic and income?
I can't really answer that for you. It depends on a lot of things like traffic sources and the types of keywords people are using to find the site. This is something you're going to have to learn over experience. That's why I recommended people start with my Deadbeat Super Affiliate system so they get a better understanding of how the mechanics behind this stuff works.

Hey Lisa - I would not recommend buying existing websites if you are a beginner. Definitely build up a site from scratch so you can learn the basics.

The owner should do video walkthroughs of the income claims - logging into affiliate accounts, etc. I would also request detailed traffic reports to find out where the traffic is coming from. Ideally I'm looking for a large percentage of traffic from organic search and social media. If it's all direct traffic, I wouldn't buy it in most cases. Only way to know expenses is for the owner to tell you the expenses. I really can't make this decision for you. It's never guaranteed. The owner could be doing some shady stuff in the background, that's why it's very important you do as much homework as you can. If the site is making $2500 per month consistently, look to pay AT LEAST $30,000 for it. You won't get a good site with solid recurring for any less.
I have a bunch of videos in here on what to do after you purchase the site. My Deadbeat Super Affiliate system also walks you through what you will need to know and do to build up a site from the ground up. You will have an advantage by having an already existing site. Apply the same tactics I teach in my system to the site you purchase to grow it consistently over time!

Yes they send you the login details to their site after you buy it. You get login for domains, hosting, etc. Each site monetizes differently - you have to check the listing and see where the income is coming from. Could be adsense, affiliate sales, product sales, services, etc.

Usually you don't need to know coding because most websites are Wordpress based. When revamping a site, you will want to follow my Deadbeat Super Affiliate system. I wouldn't outsource this because it's a bit of an art form turning a website from a small producer to a big earner. It takes a bit of education and experience, in other words. Wade, there isn't specific info on domain flipping. The system teaches you what a good website is, how to get traffic, etc. You need to know that information and have it ingrained into every fiber in order to be able to properly evaluate what a good website is. That's the key skill you must possess in order to not lose money on a flip.

I dont really get it totally, so after buying a website on flippa.com how do i make money from doing that, like what is the next step towards making money or how does buying a website generate revenues for me, i am yet to understand that from your video.

Trash site wouldn't recommend Flippa... listed a full site on there 15 days, never had any bids, had one question, listing never sold, not allowed to relist it unless I pay another $9 like WTF?

So far I'm on lesson 10, don't know how many lessons there are. Seems like to me a lot of steps on integrating the wordpress blog to the web hosting service. I haven't followed through yet on any of the steps until I can see all the pieces to this puzzle first. I only invest in things I understand. As any good investor or business owner should.
Sterling: you must master my Deadbeat Super Affiliate system before you venture into something like this. This is more of an intermediate stage. Reason is, is because you need to understand how a website works and earns for you to be able to safely analyze a property. This would be the equivalent of buying a piece of realestate to invest without the knowledge of how to size up a proper investment property, how to fix it up, how to make it cash flow, etc. You need training and some experience before you venture into something like this.
