      have limits!! But in the video i so question something that alarmed me though! and thats the harvesting of blue fin tuna.. i dont think that trawler is lawfully allowed
      to harvest that many tuna that way…. which is why i sent the link to a friend of mine who works for fish and game…

    Pretty sure those are sardines...if not...they are the world's smallest salmon in the first part...those fish once you get into the processing are much larger

    There are two videos, the salmon is being harvested in the farm. The wild fish caught in the net are probably Herrings or anchovies.

    This type of net finishing is the most dangerous type of fishing for the environment as these huge nets catch everything that they should not including endangered species. And destroy the environment , you can see the fish caught were smaller they're killed before becoming mature and this is happening at an extremely alarming rate

    Thats one fishing boat catching that much in a small amount of time. Imagine how many fishing boats like that are harvesting fishes from the ocean everyday. I think we are taking more than the fish can replenish itself.

      @@user_1abc That has actually been declared for sardines (2019) at least so companies have 2 years to come up with a plan to start putting the sardines back before there will be such strict regulations placed on them as to make their fleets unprofitable and they will sit rusting. Reality is sardine fishing should be limited anyway already whales are seeking other waters, and different fish because the sardines are getting so scarce.

    It's inherent in human nature to harvest (take) more than is sustainable. Examples of over fishing, even well managed stocks, are very common. We will always take more than we should especially as world population pushes 9 billion. On a hake trawler the preferred cod-end catch size is about 10 metric tons because that weight matches what the processing plant can handle without loss of quality in about an hour.

    This video was VERY concerning. We are fishing our seas out, this is NOT normal. No wonder we have been wiped out on Earth several times over in the past. WE ARE GREEDY!!

      3/4 of the Earth is cover by water and we human consums only 1% of the total , imagine fish population is much higher than humans, there will never be running out of fish in the oceans. Imagine that much of fish within a few meters how the world could catch all the fish??? The oceans would never run out of it
