In this House To Home series I decided to give my Backyard a total transformation, and I must say it looks absolutely stunning. I wanted something that was cozy, relaxing but yet inviting, and since I love to entertain I decided to create an outdoor lounge and dinning area that is quiet cozy and relaxing especially during these summer and fall nights.

I would recommend in the near future whenever you are planting, before adding the weed stopper, add some news paper first then add the weed stopper you will never have to pull weed again.

DOLLAR TREE 💵 🌳 💴 🌲 is where u get rope, glue, faux flowers, many flames-less 🕯and glass jars, glass insert -vases, colored beach glass or river stones, glass marble chips, often bags of colored sands, garden planting tools, decor themed to hang upon ur fence between the hanging flowers as well as coconut pot liner inserts and potting soil, also paint rollers & gloves, brushes sponges, BBQ tools & outdoor tableware, again for ($1)dollar as well as baskets to toss plain plant pots into effortlessly! You did so much work, such a big difference your yards gotta have the neighbors climbing over the fence to see the place you’ve made! I thank you for sharing! Hope n you years of healthy happy outdoor enjoyment!!

I am head over heels in love with your transformation. I love how you created two separate areas. One for dinning and the other for relaxing. Plus painting the fence just upgraded the entire look of the yard. Love, love, love it!

Beautiful job! PLANT TIP: 1st mix your potting soil and bottom soils together. Then add some "peat moss" to loosen the soil. This will give the plants roots room to comfortably grow.
2nd. Please remove some of your top rocks from around your flowers. The sun heats up your concrete slab, top rocks and pavers. Heated together they act like mini ovens that fry your plants. Lastly, try desert or succulent plants they will be more drought tolerant.

What if using mulch? I’ve seen people use pre-emergent to kill weeds then putting topsoil and mulch.

the soil out here in Texas has to be mixed up for anything to grow. dig your hole wider and deeper and add compost to the soil, when you take the plant out of the bucket fluff out the roots a lil bit before planting, hope this helps. you did a amazing job, love it

Great job. TIP: Pour hot water over the curl in an outdoor rug to get it to relax. Let a bucket of water sit in direct sun to warm up.

Great job, what a transformation! As far as your flowers go, it seems your back yard is full sun. Double check the light requirements of your plants and water them every day when it does not rain in the heat of summer. New plants can also benefit from fertilizer to get them off to a good start.

Hi Amy I'm new to your channel from the UK,its great to see a lady take charge and show that we are capable of great things when we are determined.
We have also done out garden this summer by doing a raised two tier decking and have used Slate colour also, but ours has turned out a dark grey and I've used the colour Daisy ( white) for all the posts that go upwards and its so fresh, just need to finish the roof to the top tier( a living roof with plants for insects and bees).
For your plant did you put any bone meal in the bottom of hole spread the roots a little on the root ball and water in really well.

Wow your hard work paid off the yard looks amazzzzzing.
The hanging plants are a good idea along the fence. Also, you can always do a no dig flower bed.
Garden Soil mixed with Potting mix along with some Black Cow. Mix all three and dig out all that muck. Make the hole relatively large and use only the mixture and water every day for 2 weeks.
Great job on your flower wall. You did a FANTABULOUS job. I LOVE IT!!! My furniture is covered too, got my cover from Amazon as well. Thanks for the reminder of the scotchguard, I have some just have to USE it. Keep up the great work. You're so handy with your power drill.

Beautiful yard! As far as the plants are concerned, they might have died as the roots could have been root-bound. I did not tell if you roughed up the roots a little before placing them in the holes but it did not seem so. As you mentioned Houston heat is ruthless and the yard seems to get a lot of sun with little shade, so watering daily if not twice a day is key until plants are well established. Better luck next time!😊

The concrete only is a job that you have to get professionals in for to help.
Love the furniture and all your colors and decor. Black and white is one of my favorites. I'll guess you paid about 3 to 4,000 for the concrete and paint and supplies about 2,ooo. So all the furniture and Arbor 500 +2,000 . Im guessing about 8,000. .
I too recently redid a backyard but included a Hot tub and alot of landscaping. The electrical was there and palm trees from a nursery which cost me because I didn't want them to die. I just moved from Virginia to Arizona and did it all in 6 months 😳. Its been a work in progress and I have enjoyed everything.

My advice to you, make the holes for the plants much deeper(put the roots in darkness), then put water in the holes so that the roots can make their way (move) deeper into the soil. Also, if the plants need partial sun and they are getting too much, they will not survive. Love the fence color and all you created.
Now I have to say you are spot on with this design. It solves my problem because my back has the same problem you gave me a great idea.
