Play them out there for as long as possible.until some form of collapse happens in Russia? Thanks and Slava Ukraini. Karl in Dublin
Would it be a war crime for Ukraine to attack Russian police stations with drones at times when the maximum number of police officers would be in the building? After all the police officers are the ones who enforce Russian conscription laws and certainly played a role in the kidnapping of the Ukrainian children. They also, at least in theory, might provide the only organized reserve of military age men who would be loyal to Putin.
It depends on how you are defining "police". Attacking the "civilian" uniformed "police" could be a "war crime" (because it is an "infrastructure" like service that civilians need). However Russia has many layers of "police" and "security services" - attacking uniformed members of the new Russian "National Guard" or Interior ministry "gendarmerie", or would be seen as similar to attacking "reserve" soldiers. And attacking any uniformed "military police" is the same as any other soldier.
Based on what you say about Putin’s airforce and spares/engineers not being available, and the vital importance of air power dominance. Do you see a point where the recent ,and very quiet rate of increase of Ukrainian air power with new aircraft pilots and the weapons that go with them to be pivotal in Ukrainian victory.
There is a lot of focus on developments on land, but I think it is worth noting that Ukraine has forced the Russian fleet out of Sevastopol in Crimea and that the Russian fleet is now based in Novorossiysk, on the mainland, in the eastern part of the Black Sea. Ukraine has helped Russia significantly expand its submarine fleet. That is an impressive achievement by Ukraine, which does not even have its own fleet.
I’m somewhat surprised that Putin et all keep mocking Trump. They should know better. Considering the way Trump thinks and his inability to separate the world outside and fragile ego inside it is certainly the best way to get him to sent more guns to Ukraine….
The collective "West" has frozen assets and confiscated properties, so we have reached near the limit of influence on Russia's oligarchs. Politically they have no real connection to much outside of Russia itself, so not much we can pressure them with there. And it is considered a "war crime" to go after their family members in a hostile way (hostages or threats of assassination). Putin has his select oligarchs fairly outside of our influence, partly why they are still alive. Maybe we could locate other hidden money or "assets" outside of the West, but that is only money and crossing Putin is deadly. He has cowed most of his military leadership, the majority of the "security services" are in his control - so the oligarchs have economic power and some limited political power - where they would need someone with actual arms to join them to overthrow Putin.

Crimea has already been been made partially untenable for Russia. They had to move the fleet from Sevastapol or the rest of it would have been sunk by a nation with no Navy. The Kursk bridge remains standing because it's valuable to Ukraine to force Russia to tie up valuable and limited air defense assets to defend it.
A longterm effect on Russian aviation is that their fleet will reach their hours limit a lot sooner than expected. Regardless of the eventual situation in Ukraine, the RuAF will reach a bottleneck in aviation capability in 5-8 years without a massive increase in construction once an armistice in Ukraine is reached.

Zelenskyy is right when he says if we just simply freeze the conflict, russia will attack again.
Re Belarus:The Belarus army is to a large extent, composed of conscripts who reflect the general will of the population which is not necessarily pro Russia or even Pro Lukashenko. That is why during the demonstrations of 2020, Lukashenko relied primarily on the police and the internal security forces whose loyalty was either unquestioning or bought. Lukashenko is interested only in staying in power. He is under pressure from Putin to join the war, but he cannot rely on the army to fight Ukraine and that could cause a split in the ranks. He is also dependent on Putin to stay in power and Putin depends on Lukashenko not to move to the West. But it is an uneasy alliance. Lukashenko doesn't trust Putin (who want to replace him with a more malleable figure) and this is mutual. Lukashenko has burnt his bridges with the West, and if he changes course, Putin will destroy him. He is walking a tightrope.
Disagree. Trump will try to force Ukraine into an unacceptable surrender. He'll use Ukraine's refusal to justify cutting all aid to Ukraine. In the meantime, he'll turn over all intel the US has on Ukraine directly to the Kremlin.
5:56 Putin is drawing troops from many other countries to fight in its war against Ukrane. Why hasn’t the ‘west’’ done likewise and supported Ukrane with equivalent troops from America and Europe? It seems so unfair to Ukrane. The ‘west’ looks so weak in this respect.
@Georgy_NVRSK did you have any other logical excuse for Russia's complete failures? You know we're about to start our fourth year of this 3-day war, right?
We have to remember that the objective for Ukraine is for the Ukrainian culture to survive. Territory is not that important. The Donbas was originally Cossack. When Russians discovered the mineral riches of the Donbas they just deported the Cossacks and installed ethnic Russians. So Donbas ended up in Ukraine in Soviet days, so did Crimea. But Russian hegemonic attitudes lead to what we see today. What will it take for the Russian elites to see that commerce (ie Europe's natural desire) is what Russians and Ukrainians want? They were doing fine but hubris.... Ah, hubris, the mortal sin of politicians. All I can say is what Cersei said in The Game of Thrones, "In the game of thrones, you either win or you die". That sums up Putin's dilemma.
Despite fears, there is a little sign that the great powers, i.e. China or the United States have the slightest desire to risk their lives and soldiers lives their military in reckless and insane nationalistic expansionist acts. Opportunism is always there for a state to engage in, but I think those two states are mature and wise enough to have moved a long way away from the lunacy of the European states the last one of which Russia continues its violent expansionism into neighbor territory.
Only if Iran comes clean about its leader being 'king in all but name' - dependent on exporting his 'revolution' everywhere in the middle east. Israel is simply pushing back against that.
We kicked Sadam Hussain out of Kuwait. Same with Putin in Ukraine. We need to do more after persuading them to get rid of their nuclear weapons when the old soviet Union broke up. SHAME ON US!!!
The US would not have defeated Iraq with the weapons they have given Ukraine no planes and a few tanks. The US used hundreds of planes and cruise missiles to defeat Iraq same thing was done in Afghanistan.

What’s the exit strategy for Putin?
QQQ Is the Crimea bridge still standing as a part of the buffer zone that Russia will to have to forfeit for 50yrs as part of the peace deal?

great commentary. Agree Trump will double down for Ukraine
Disagree. Trump will try to force Ukraine into an unacceptable surrender.
He'll use Ukraine's refusal to justify cutting all aid to Ukraine.
In the meantime, he'll turn over all intel the US has on Ukraine directly to the Kremlin.
Tucker Carlson,Mearsheimerand Scott Ritter are the type of 'useful idiot's,' are the comments that you should have addressed
We’ve been hearing how they are about to run out of men for the last two years
Excellent video!! Thank you!
Winning is about how you feeling, not battleground realities?
5:56 Putin is drawing troops from many other countries to fight in its war against Ukrane. Why hasn’t the ‘west’’ done likewise and supported Ukrane with equivalent troops from America and Europe? It seems so unfair to Ukrane. The ‘west’ looks so weak in this respect.
Could Russia implode with the uprising of so many angry women who gave lost loved ones,? Jennie Sherborne
No, because “high casualties” exist only in western MSM fabricated reality.
The loved ones are more worried about a new car or washing machine or iPhone
@Georgy_NVRSK did you have any other logical excuse for Russia's complete failures?
You know we're about to start our fourth year of this 3-day war, right?
No
Maybe ask Ukrainian women.
Why doesn’t Ukraine lower the age of conscription to 18 (from, I believe 25) since they are so in need of soldiers?
They are trying to prptect their future population. Russia is destroying their future population.
Tell that last bit to Israel why don’t you?
Israel is just responding to being invaded.
Russia is not Iraq.
@@jasonwright6823Russia invaded a peaceful country just like Iraq did.
Aggressive both of them.
The US would not have defeated Iraq with the weapons they have given Ukraine no planes and a few tanks. The US used hundreds of planes and cruise missiles to defeat Iraq same thing was done in Afghanistan.
