The thing you asked about is a scale to weigh things. Looking at that one it reminds me of ones I've seen when my grandfather use to purchase corn to feed his hogs. The clerk would put a burlap sack on the scale and start scooping the corn into the sack. And would stop so often to adjust the weights you see hanging on it until it was the amount my grandfather wanted to purchase. My grandfather was born in 1915 and I was born in 1980. My grandparents would babysit me during the day while my mom worked. So I feel really blessed looking back on all the time we spent together and all the experiences I had that I could only have with them growing up in the early 1900's. Also, where my grandparents lived other relatives lived there too. My grandfathers mother that was born in 1898 and many other relatives that were born in the late 1800's into the early 1900's. One thing I wish is I could have recorded them and the stories they shared about their lives. Imagine talking to people that lived during WW1 and so many other historical events. It was a very enchanting childhood❤.
