- Welcome everyone on board the Nepal Airlines flagship; the Airbus A330-200 on this flight between Dubai to Kathmandu.
Many people have been requesting me to either fly Nepal Airlines or to Nepal, so this is my gift to you.
Sadly the experience was not the most pleasant one, but the views and stay in Nepal were worth it.
I was beaten up as the flight departed close to 6 am and I didn’t catch any sleep. The flight also seemed full without any passengers booked in Economy Class. So I decided to pay for an upgrade to Business Class. Yes, I paid! And I was told in cash only and no VAT receipt was returned to me. If I wanted to get a receipt I “would have to go to the main offices in Deira”, which obviously nobody will end up doing..
Afterwards I settled down in the cozy Business Class cabin just to receive an Economy Class service.
Not that I mind, but while I paid for the upgrade the crew thought I got it complimentary due to overbooking (that’s what they were told) so my money was lost somewhere along the line..

I flew with Himalayan the first time I visited Nepal. Never again trying that. Flydubai is the best option imo. Way better service and flying experience. But Kathmandu was breathtaking tbh. Hope you enjoy your time there. Cheers 🥂

I won’t plan flying Himalayan either as I was waiting in line at a coffee shop DXB along with an elder lady and one Himalayan crew just cut the line, followed by the captain and then others. Plus they were rude when I asked them to wait in line like all others.

Alex! When I saw this video announcement I thought YES!! A different airline, different destination, GREAT! How disappointing however the various ATTITUDES! Quite frankly, shocking! In my days at KLM I can only recall a max of a handful of incidents on my flights in my entire career! Nowadays passengers bite FAs!! What is happening!!!! Yelling, shouting., so unnecessary!! And being treated like a bad boy travelling business class, this airline needs to get its act together!! This was quite an eye opener Alex! Very well done!!

I'm going on a vacation to Nepal and now I see this which is awesome! My dad's friend says Nepal Airlines isn't good and now I know why. Glad we are flying Air India instead on their A320. This was an interesting airline to make a video on!

Hey Alex! Very sorry for what you had to endure on this So-Called business class flight :( But thanks for taking one for the team and showing us why we shouldn't take this flight! Good job chipping in and helping the cleaning crew with the windows! Unless you were taxiing I can't see why the crew wouldn't let you use the bathroom before hand and why they would tell you not so use the business class toilet is beyond me :( Hope you flew Emirates back. Thanks again for showing us the "real flight reviews" I appreciate it!

It is the last time I plan on flying with them! And the food I didn’t touch, the curry was a slurry! Such a weird texture, like slime. And they lied to me they don’t have booze!
But hey, it can’t be always perfect! It would be a very boring channel otherwise.

Well.. looking at the boarding process and the inflight experience, this airline seems to got stuck in the late 80's, except this kind of crew-behavior which has always been totally unacceptable. The bright side is, you had some incredible views on the approach 🙂

The views and sounds were fine and that’s what it’s about. I understand it can’t always be perfect. I would otherwise be flying Asian and Middle Eastern carriers all the time.

As someone who works in revenue management, I fully understand operational upgrades due to economy class overbooking when there is less business class demand... so you sell more in the economy and upgrade the surplus. But what you did was pay for an upgrade... that was just a scam. And of course, you paid in all cash so no trail. Except for your boarding pass maybe.

No! Glad they were rude with me on ground. I put the sweets back in my cabin bag. Am not that silly! 😛
I don’t fly as much you. But I do fly often and I will, like you said, tolerate everything other than Attitude. If I were you, I would’ve de-planed immediately and disputed the fare with my credit card company. My best friend and I used to travel the world mostly with United, and American carriers are not known for their great service. But it was bearable. But the first time my best friend flew with Emirates, it absolutely blew him away! Business class service in economy. Emirates will always be my top choice.

You should travel on Nepal airlines once again cause I went on Nepal airlines to Kathmandu for second time due to my business trip in economy class. The cabin crew were kind and were treating all passengers as a guest this time and I got booked on Nepal airlines for my return trip as well by my employer. As I've mentioned that my previous Nepal airlines flight on October 2023 had rude cabin crew, I got booked on Nepal airlines A330-200 for my business trip to Nepal in May 2024.
The only negative thing this time I had was a 45 min delay for arrival, although I don't mind it, it might be inconvenient for many other passengers.
It might be the rude cabin crew and delay which ruined your flight experience.

Delhi to dubai air india a 320n full journey plzzz
2:52 it is 25€ in Germany. But still cheaper than others. I will never forget that terminal, I was there 2016 and booked Pegasus. I had the stupid idea to use Pegasus from Amsterdam via Istanbul (not Ataturk) to Dubai. It almost destroyed my love for aviation. Not only were all flights like a livestock transport, there was no service of course, and EVERY flight outward and return where delayed for hours. But not in advance, we boarded and nothing happened, no one informed us and on one flight, the same happened after we arrived at the gate. I had the worst passengers you can imagine and the landings where so bad, people threw up. When I arrived in Amsterdam again, they lost the bag I checked in because it remained in Istanbul. The next day, the called me that my bag arrived. Since I live only two hours away from Amsterdam I drove to the airport. Otherwise I would have paid an expensive fare and waited for even more days. When I went to Iran 2022, I booked Emirates. It was like another world, from the airport to the flights.

I’m glad you shared this story with me as I’ll never forget which flight partially destroyed a piece of my love for aviation and that was my first Ryanair flight ever between Girona and Eindhoven. I still used to enjoy flying en Europe as airlines would still offer hot meals on most flights. After 2005-2006 that fully stopped thanks to low cost carriers.
Anyway, thanks for sharing the story. Sometimes it’s best to pay a little more and experience a legacy Middle Eastern carrier instead. The cheap eventually is expensive!

Fantastic video! If you want to fly a very scenic flight I recommend you to fly from Kathmandu to Paro, Bhutan as the Mt. Everest can be viewed from that flight. It is very sad how Nepal Airlines served you badly and stole your money. What are we getting for the next video.

Regarding the comments, there are many possibilities. I receive a lot of comments a day and they’re all mixed from each single video so it’s impossible to reply them all one by one. It would take me over 5 hours a day! Many also go directly to the blocked folder if they contain a suspected word that RUclips doesn’t like. So just bare with me!

the reason for the below average quality is that when u upgrade ur seat, a mark of upgrade is mentioned on the list, sometimes when they r overbooked they put the last passengers in the business classs generally at no extra cost but u get the same treatment as a pax of economy gets i.e. economy class food, drinks, lavatories and importantly the crew is really arrogant. i had a similar experience as well...i smelt some jealously among the crew for unidentifiable reasons... in ur case since u paid an extra they shud have given you the 'business class service' but i feel it was more of a communication error. maybe the crew wasnt informed abt the upgrade...Apart from that, Nepal Airlines is a really good airline...The problem is that it has been there for over 40 yrs but corruption has eaten it up...
GIVE IT ANOTHER CHANCE AND SURELY U WILL ENJOY IT... :)

It’s not really about Business Class or not, I could’t possibly care about that. They have to be nice to everyone and show respect regardless of class, gender or race. So that’s a big shortfall.

No, only CFM or IAE if it is the classic A320. But RR participated in the IAE project.

I guess Vistara, Sri Lankan and Biman are the only good carriers in South Asia according to your trip reports. Vistara of course leads the list, I don't know why some vloggers on RUclips bad mouth about the airline. I always had the best experience with them atleast for domestic flights. I'm yet to try them on international routes before its complete merger with Air India. Sad to see a nice carrier to be ceasing completely next year. PIA was good too. 👍
I’ve got to say that the newest Business Class seats at Air India are unbeatable for now. I like vistara and hope the best of them goes over to Air India. Besides that Sri Lankan was indeed great and Biman was special. But yeah, Nepal Airlines no more for me unfortunately.

One way was around $200 US, which is fair, but on top of that I paid the upgrade.

I've never been yelled at by cabin crew. I'd probably yell back! That was an excessive sink rate. The plane would have floated if the PF flared.
I would have barked back if I wasn’t filming. It’s +8 of them vs myself.
If I yell back I know each one of them will make my day miserable, specially the filming as an excuse!

I also travelled on nepal airlines on the same route, on october 2023 but on economy. I also had bad experience like you and Im shocked how can they treat passengers like this:
1) The cabin crew shouted at the passenger sitting behind my wife for closing his window when we boarded with attitude and disrespect. (Come on, it might be his first flight or something like that)
2) One flight attendant yelled at me when I was trying to get my bag out from the overhead locker when we were at cruising and the "Fasten seatbelt" sign was off.
3) One flight attendant yelled at my wife just because she was getting her bag out for getting the milk bottle for my son who is hungry and he was crying.
While I understand that safety standards have to be adhered to, I also understand that sometimes they have to be bend due to common sense, like feeding a child.
Sorry you had to go through this. It’s disrespectful and just plainly rude. Hope you fly with others in the near future.
@@TheLayoverAviation I even wanted to complain about the rude behavior of the crew, but I stayed calm cause the crew might be having a bad day. At check in, I asked for a seat at the left side of the cabin for me and my wife, but they asked me to pay a total of 60 AED ($16.30) for selecting our own seats. They did the same to me. Ok for my son, we were taking him on lap (He was 10 months old at time of travel), the check in agent asked us for the third ticket, I said he will be seated on lap, nope, I argued and then he let us go.
(Even if the flight isn't good, the view was great for me.)

that was a nice video for avgeeks for the review and the engine sounds etc but the way the crew treated you was not at all professional....you paid extra for the buisness class seat only because there were free seats on the BC..not becuz they were overbooked and that behaviour would have to be considered one of your worst experience....also The a330 is supposed to be the butter machine and That was not a bad landing,it was one of the worst i have seen of the a330,the plane literally dropped like a stone as there wasnt any flare..anyways i hope you didnt get sick or something due to the food and i wish you have a better year and better experiences in more aviation..BTW love your videos alex!!.!
i also forgot to ask you sir to try out the comac c919,the chinese competition for the a320 and 737..i have heard the china eastern fly the c919 and it would be awesome to see you review the aircraft!!
