Just a general update. Our farm life this winter is basically 3 tasks over and over: doing basic chores twice per day, bedding the cattle once a week or so, and cleaning the pig pens. I will have very little to cover regarding the pigs until probably May, when we know whether they are pregnant or not. Billy is going in with Brownie this week. We have seen nothing between Billy and Bossy in terms of breeding. Frankly, I am looking forward to saying goodbye to the pigs after this spring's litters (if there are any). They have been a frustrating headache over the past few years, and I would have parted with them last fall if not for viewers' wishes to keep them. From then on, we will be buying 4 feeder piglets every spring to raise outside, and converting the pig barn into a new brooder house for broiler chicks. So pig content on the channel will not end entirely. Finally, I have been racking my brain trying to come up with farm content, but there's just nothing going on right now aside from me making videos of those 3 things I listed, which was what the last 3 farm videos consisted of. I used to make topical winter videos about small farm life, but I have no ideas there, and I seem to get more and more pushback about expressing opinions and talking too much on camera. I guess that's a function of the state of things in general. Maybe I just need to recharge my batteries regarding animal content to come back strong with it in the spring. I look forward to manure spreading season in 6 weeks or so, bringing the cattle back out to pasture, and getting into fieldwork with the equipment. Videos with action going on are fun to make and more interesting to watch, at least in my opinion. If you have any interesting farm topics you would like me to cover, I would love to hear them!
While it is nice you consider viewers comments, you will never please the masses. Do what you want to do and the viewers will come along with you. The ones that disagree will move on to pester other content creators. Have a good day Pete and don't stress the youtube stuff.
Thanks for the update! BTW, I’ve always enjoyed your topical videos, think-pieces, etc., etc….but, understand the “pushback.” Your channel will always be a “watch every episode” one for me, no matter what the content is! Thanks for taking the time to share your days, projects, & perspectives!
If I have said once oh well. You can please some of the people some of the time all some but rarely all all of the time so let your haters be your motivators and know that we enjoy you and your take on this experience. With that said thank you for being you and as always good luck and God bless..😊😊
Well i gotta tell you, this project sure is interesting to me Pete. Always interesting to see the inners taken out and put back in right. Really excited to see the final reveal. And to see the tractor out working again. Thank you Pete for sharing this project with all of us.
Dang, that's some impressive attention to detail for the subscribers that caught that absolutely impressive great work to the person that caught that!!
Good morning, kudo's to those viewers who recognized the oil slinger, depth of the PTO. Awesome to see you "happy" getting those two halfs together. Can't wait to see you finish restoration on the 856. Have a great day everyone.
Good afternoon, Jeff and thank you for your response. I call it bonding experience that has resonated with large number of viewers ( American farmers etc. ) can involve themselfs in the process of restoring an old or antique tractor ( I call it history )@@Jeff-jg7jh
Pete any video from you is always much appreciated, you a living a life that probably many of us just dreamed of , I for one will watch every video you choose to share with us , Take Care my Friend!
Thank You Pete!!! What makes this series so enjoyable to me is, you seem to be enjoying making it as much as I enjoy watching it. Great content! Murfreesboro TN
I'm just sitting here enjoying my Sunday morning class with Pete. Listening, watching, and amazed at the patients and calmness of it all. I'm so hectic throughout my week it is a pleasure to take the time to slow down for a high-quality video and that voice. Thanks Pete you always help my piece of mind.
I have always enjoyed your videos. Definitely calming and informative as well as feeling like your just hanging out with a friend down the road sharing some time of the day . As always thanks for sharing your videos. ❤
Now I know how you can remember all those parts and where and how they go. It's a learned procedure! Me, I have spare parts from 50 years ago. See ya next week.
Pete, I’ve never took a tractor a part or wanted too. But watching you I’ve learn some stuff. 1. Know your limits. 2. Have patience. 3. Pay attention to the small details. And 4. Have a sense of humor. The plus in your video is your calm approach to the task. Thank you for the interesting content.
Getting the alignment is important and doing the due diligence of what you did made it easier. Sometimes a guy just has to be patient, not always a strong suit of mine, but you sure have it! Good to see it coming together, that's neat to watch. Thanks Pete, have a nice day!
I like all your videos tractors, pigs, cows, chickens repeat. It’s nice listening as you explain how and why. Why I don’t know it’s just very interesting hearing and watching about a TA and tightening down bolts on or near the flywheel. I have a much better appreciation of what mechanics do after watching you work and seeing all the steps. It would be nice to see the animals even if briefly but it’s your call. Enjoy it all. One last thing… I enjoy your philosophical spots as well. They give me ideas to reflect on. I have never been even the slightest bit offended. Keep up the awesome job!
You say you hope it's been interesting for me? You bet, this has been a great series of tractor rebuild so far!! Love your explanations of each part and or step. Thank you!!
I enjoy any video you and Hillary put out. For some reason the tractor rebuild ones are both relaxing and entertaining. When I was a kid my grandpa’s machine shed had a distinct grease smell from his Farmall tractors. That smell comes back to me sometimes when you’re doing tractor work. Thanks Pete.
It's very calming to watch a patient mechanic. Now that you're onto the fun part of the restoration it must be hard to contain excitement. We will all feel your sense of pride once we see you operating the tractor in its new condition.
I'm 77 now, never did anything like this, and actually clapped in my old age home, to see the joy on your face, and the accomplishment you have done so far. really enjoy your videos. I've been watching your channel since you moved there and limed the fields.
2/26/24..FA 856 re-assembly of (new) clutch in TorqAmplifier & joining both halves of tractor. A+Pete, incredible attention to details, beautiful video/lighting & close up camera shots. Anxious to see completion, starting, shifting & driving around with shiney new Gloss Red paint 'blinding' all we viewers! Stay safe & carry on!⚙️🔩🔧💪😊🍺
Thanks Pete! Honestly this is one of those this that I may or may not in the future do if I hadn’t watched this series. That’s a big undertaking and intimidating when getting that far in the weeds with something so big and complicated. We appreciate you and thank you for the education.
Looks like you have some Farmall repairmen who watch your videos Pete to catch your very very rare mistakes and correct you that's great unlike most us armchair mechanics and curiosity watchers. Great job most of us could not or should not do.
I’m absolutely loving this series. I’m a wrencher myself and even though I will most likely never work on an 856, it helps me hone my critical thinking skills. Thank you Pete!
It never ceases to amaze me what all you do in that little garage! I hope one day to have the same patience and wisdom as you Pete you make this tractor stuff look so easy.
We have followed you with a rebuilds of tractors and we are still amazed at your talent and explanation of working parts and your patients. Regarding the “ talking to much “ on your videos , well we love it and it’s new learning for us and you can never be to old to learn ! Thank you very much for taking the time .
Thank you, Pete. It's great just how you do it. This is your farm content. This is how real-life days on the farm are. No acting, no scripts, and no faking. This is the true and real content I live for every day.
My dad was a marine engineer & watching him work on an engine put me in mind of a surgeon. He always had his tools layed out just so & took his time. Your work reminds me of him. Thanks for sharing.
I love watching you do these restorations even though it is something I will never do. I love the methodical work it takes to do this right. I am sure I learn something from each video that may come in handy one day. As somebody else has already said "it is farmwork" fixing things that go wrong is a part of farming, a restoration is just a lot of fixing things all done at once!! Keep up the great work/content.
Yes , Pete, by far your most complex and tegious tractor work yet. this tractor is geting into the high tech area that requires so much more care with fetail and a good deal chance for error { the shaft oil slinger for instance ) . You are doing a fine job as usual and we appreciate the trip.
Thanks, Pete, great post! I appreciate your detailed explanations while you are putting components back together. Its also really nice that you have other viewer experts who notice things and give you advice on better ways to do this very involved rebuild. Well done, guys!
Hi Pete and Hilarie great to see you two together in this video...always a pleasure watching what you do best ,doing what you love!! Amazing channel!! God Bless you
That was one interesting way to install the clutch assembly. I had no idea you could do that. Once the 856 is finished she should be as good as new. Looking forward to the part of the MCV assembly and front bolster repair.
I'm still amazed at how simple you make it seem to get ALL THOSE DANG parts back together. This has been an amazing series and I look forward to watching more.
Nothing better on a Sunday than cup of coffee and watching Pete on his far. No matter what he is doing. I have used the teflon seal many times on different engines they hold up the best.
This is super watching you ho thru this tractor. I think this change up adds a great deal to your channel. Cant wait to see and hear the finished product.
Another great video Pete, every time I watch you in the shop working on projects like this I reminisce about similar tasks I did back in the day. This one brought back a memory of putting new clutch in a 1951 Pontiac a friend had we were on our backs under it in the middle of Dec of 1959. fingers numb, etc. so I always think ?wow" wouldn't it have been nice If I/we had a nice warm garage to work in back then. thanks for the memories Pete. love them. can't wait for more. Ok on the pigs I can relate to them also raised a few myself for myself and can relate to what goes on there. You do what you deem necessary for you and the farm. not the viewers. whims. altho we all know you take that seriously we do understand. thanks for sharing. God speed. ECF

Hi Pete- I’m loving this video series! I’m going to be restoring my grandpa’s 1066 at some point in the not-so-distant future, and this 856 is similar enough that I have a much better understanding of what I’m faced with. After working on my H, the 1066 has seemed very daunting. Everything makes so much more sense now! The way you explain things is just excellent. Great work!
Pete, we love what you do , people who criticize you and your videos just have big mouths who should go somewhere else and comment. We love to see you and your family and farm life. @@RH-cv1rgThank you. That is the philosophy I have been following with this tractor series. I am enjoying it and it is easy to make videos about it.
I agree and like watching what you post.

I find it amazing how the rubber seals wear steel on the cranks. Talk about perseverance.
Thanks Pete! I love the tractor segments!
Nothing better than waking up on a Sunday morning and find a new video from Pete. Needless to say it made my day. Thanks Pete.

Never crossed my mind that would be a problem. You checking that out in advance, you really dodged a big one.@@JustaFewAcresFarm
i love your tractor rebuild series. The patience you show is a lesson in itself. Thank you for doing this and I hope to see many more in the future.
Akways a good time when I'm hanging out with Pete and one of his tractors.
Always a pleasure, Pete. Your video is my "before getting ready for church" time.
You’re the best Pete, What a great teacher. I appreciate you very much. You’re a big help to a lot of people. Thank you. Have a great day.
Really enjoying this project. Takes my back to the 70s when I helped my uncle separate his 856 to replace the clutch and pressure plate assembly.

Really enjoying this series on the 856. Very interesting
Doctor Pete getting ready to close!

It is a great contrast of metal and strength with then being delicate and fine. Hammering and torquing and then gently putting things together!
I really enjoy the pace of your videos Pete. It’s very calming and therapeutic. 😃

Looks like you have some Farmall repairmen who watch your videos Pete to catch your very very rare mistakes and correct you that's great unlike most us armchair mechanics and curiosity watchers. Great job most of us could not or should not do.
Always amazes me that they still make parts for these older tractors. Great to see. Thanks for the vid Pete.
Perfect workman ship and so much patience, always amazed at how calm you stay, ON CAMERA 🤣🤣

Slick. Went together just beautifully.
This is not exactly ASMR but listening to Pete chat about installing tractor parts is just SO satisfying, soothing, and calming!
All I can say is.... Amazing Pete!!
Really enjoyed the video. Very satisfying. Can't wait for paint!
My dad was a marine engineer & watching him work on an engine put me in mind of a surgeon. He always had his tools layed out just so & took his time. Your work reminds me of him. Thanks for sharing.

Because of your Show I have a new hobby. Collecting die cast Farmall Tractors. I'm addicted lol.
Not only is he working on rebuliding the tractor, he's annotating the work to us, and he's on his back! You need a "That was kinda Easy" button!
Would like to see more of how y’all accept new chicks and how y’all address issues that come with caring for and treating any problems that come up
Gotta love the Red Tractor fans to keep you honest on your rebuild.
Thanks for bringing us along!
Very entertaining video. Stay safe my friend. God bless you all. 🙏🙏🇺🇸
Pete, awesome workmanship. I love your methodology for moving through the removals and rebuild stages. Keep up the great work.
Instruction manuals are useful, but you're practices and all the 'tricks' make all the difference. Thanks. Onward1
Can't wait to see the finished product. Lookin good!

I’ve watched this video twice. Good info Pete. Thank you.😊
You have convinced me I'm not cut out to be a mechanic.
Evening all. Thanks for the video Pete. Check of a thing you remember how the transmission goes back together. Great attention to detail.
Hi Pete and Hilarie great to see you two together in this video...always a pleasure watching what you do best ,doing what you love!! Amazing channel!! God Bless you
All the videos are TOPS in my book, peace brother…
That was one interesting way to install the clutch assembly. I had no idea you could do that. Once the 856 is finished she should be as good as new. Looking forward to the part of the MCV assembly and front bolster repair.
Thanks Pete , always enjoy no matter the content you choose. A big hello from Missouri.
I'm still amazed at how simple you make it seem to get ALL THOSE DANG parts back together. This has been an amazing series and I look forward to watching more.
08:20 no emery just cloth. Another gem from Pete. And if you get right down to it towels are the leading cause of dry skin.
Thanks for sharing Pete. I’m just amazed at what you know and can do. Have a great day!
Really nice to follow...Somehow the pace and using hand tools creates a soothing effect...ZZZ...
Nothing better on a Sunday than cup of coffee and watching Pete on his far. No matter what he is doing. I have used the teflon seal many times on different engines they hold up the best.
Never any complaints here. Good job putting the tractor together.
Thank you for another enjoyable video!
Pete,,,You are livin my dream !!!
This is super watching you ho thru this tractor. I think this change up adds a great deal to your channel. Cant wait to see and hear the finished product.
Another great video Pete, every time I watch you in the shop working on projects like this I reminisce about similar tasks I did back in the day. I have a similar memory on my 51 Chev back in prob 64 or 65😊
Very interesting Pete.👍👍
One of the best things about you Pete is, fessing up to your mistakes and thanking your viewers for the comments. I have no interest in rebuilding an old tractor or even owning one but I enjoy watching. There’s other content creators I’ve watched in the past that I’ve made comments about mistakes they made and they made it out as if they figured it out but they’re too dumb in the first place. I unliked and unsubscribed them. Thanks for being an honest good person
Your content is great but I appreciate your perspective more.
Another great episode. I enjoy watching you identify a problem that can be solved by a tool you created. Also it’s a near perfect way to learn the capabilities of your farm machines. My wife and I look forward to every video you upload. 👍🏻👍🏻
I have enjoyed your work immensely. Looking forward to the finished product.
Hello Pete, Love the Farmall 856 Restoration....
The project is interesting. I like that you are willing to ask questions to those with experience. 👍👍👍
Very much enjoy the rebuild videos
Great job Pete. I love your videos.
Great work!
It is not unsplitting, it is SPLICING!😂🤣😂🤣
Pete, we love what you do , people who criticize you and your videos just have big mouths who should go somewhere else and comment. We love to see you and your family and farm life. I understand your decision about the pigs, but I think Billy is a cute guy with his wiry hair and his “ ripple’s “ in his ears! Keep up the good work and I love your tractor videos! God bless.
I love the tractor rebuilding thanks
