Just came across your channel yesterday and I'm slowly making my way through the rest of your videos. I was brought up hunting rabbits, hares and pigeons but either with air rifles or with a dog but I really do appreciate the amazing skill you have with a catapult. We have something else in common which is a Border Terrier and I just love the breed and how loving and intelligent they are. Lost our 9 years old at the start of the year which left me heartbroken to be honest with you. I used to take him with me on the Golf Course at night for rabbits even if it was raining he just loved it. We now have a 5 month old Border Terrier who's so cute but I'll never forget the one we lost. Keep uploading when you get a chance as you have a new subscriber and love your doing.

Another cracking and honest vid pal ,
100% personal preference and self believe with shooting and hunting with a catty, one big thing I've learnt in the last 24months is find a set up that suits you and what you like, and stick with it, swapping and changing frames and bands only slows progress for me ,
    Take it easy mate 👍

Great video! The food really made me hungry. The answer you gave for the hold over was good but the way I always answer that is PRACTICE. Don't just practice one distance at one target. Practice at 5 yards to 30 yards and everywhere in between and with the target on the ground, at eye level and in a tree. Up hill, down hill, and around hill. Most people don't have a yard to practice like this in, but there is always the woods and fields.

hi ya pall. what i will add is practice out, in the field, find the range of what your after is in your area, and practice that range.i use cardboard as a targit so i can see the drop. my shakespear lil rucksack chair as a catch bag ,box so i come back with most ammo. saves a bit of money. firing 100 balls away each time comes a bit expensive. i also use inch longer band for practise?? so my release is real clean and there is no fatigue. practice makes perfect. i am same as will harris below air rifle man. shooting game and shooting targets is 2 different things. think its called target angsighety. pat my old pal could hit a penny 19 outof 20 times . he missed game 19 out of twenty times.

    Venison kebab 👍 jealous
Very sound advise from a hunters perspective. Holdovers are very personal and a change in setup can really bugger it up.
I did a little vid on the "distance game" i think its a good one for people learning holdover and something I regularly go back to myself for practice.

@@geodiecarnivore Thanks chap, no game in vids just targets, bloody hooked on catapults!
I think that there's a fashion for light setups and light ammo, one of the things I like to show is you can be accurate using a pretty potent setup, if I'm taking a shot and hit something I want it to stay hit.

I had the same problem with sniper sling black 0.7 it doesn't last long so I got sniper sling black 0.8 and that does last longer. Sniper sling yellow 0.8 last even longer and it's got a nice smooth draw . I had the same problem with she sho I was hitting things and they just ran off. But anyway great video again mate I'm still learning to edit my son was helping me and instead of posting it l deleted it by accident so he got up set with me but I'm almost there. I couldn't hit anything until i fixed and anchor point now i kill regular at 15 yard I use... Gzk catapult or gamekeeper. And gzk green or black 9.5mm steel. Chest shots upward work on pigeons, when i taught my family to hunt is unless you will finish the job dont take the shot.

thanks so much for the insights dude, I guess its back to target practice for me haha. I did get 8 hits on 6cm target from about 14m which is the best I've done on my hunting catapult. Managed to hit a electricity wire from 35m missed pigeon but hey ho progress and it sounded cool :)
I guess it important to use your hunting setup for target practice, I've been using the same 90m catapult with .6 bands and working up to .7 different tapers. basically practice hard innit.
