- It’s been 6 years since the passing of Jim Machacek; and even longer since the operation of his railroad, the Northfield & Cannon Valley Railroad. His favorite locomotive, 504, had not been under steam for nearly 11 years.
However, after 2 years of being restored, 504 is now in working condition and is ready to see service again. On June 18, 2018, 504 made her public debut and was officially welcomed as a locomotive of the Frisco Silver Dollar Line. Here’s to many years of running the rails at Silver Dollar City.
I could fall asleep just listening to that first part great video 👍🏻
Oh! My Lord! You are my hero! Gorgeous Nathan 6 chime on a beautiful locomotive. I gotta get back to SDC!!!!
Train Whistle sound Epic 0:06
I really wanna work on that railroad
I am glad to see this locomotive operating again.
I suppose this 2‘ 24 “ gauge train, correct?
I like how it’s a miniature 1522
LOVE IT!
Grand sounding whistle on it.
Great video!
im getting 1522 vibes with the paint job
i talked to one of the engineers 3 years ago and he said they were gonna have a new train , my grandma called yesterday and said hey sdc came out with there new engine i, now i have to wait till august to ride the train
What gauge are these, 2ft? Used to know but have forgotten. And now a Silver Dollar City train anecdote: in late 1980s after Dad retired and we moved to Missouri where he and Mom are from, we went with relatives to Silver Dollar City and of course my cousins wanted me to ride the train and of course I was quite happy to! We managed to sit in first car right behind loco. Somewhere along the way they had a mechanical issue, one of the leaf spring hangars on the drivers broke. Was interesting having a ringside seat watching them figure out what to do during the delay and put it in action. My cousins were apologizing and concerned that I'd be really disappointed but I was quite interested in the whole thing. Eventually the crew tied spring hangar in place with a red bandanna and limped back to the station.
They are 2ft gauge track
That's so cool how many steam engines does the frisco Silver Dollar City Railroad have besides the three tank engines 13 43 and 76???
FSDL 43, FSDL 76, FSDL 13, FSDL 14, FSDL 504, FSDL 9, A Plymouth 0-4-0 Switching Diesel, and FSDL 7, which is the wrecked locomotive down the hill from the train robbery, and is known as no. 82. Each operating locomotive has a sister in the park. no. 14 was built right after no. 13 in the Orenstein & Koppel works. No. 76 and 504 are the same locomotive and are nearly identical. But 76 is one year older than 504, built in 1940 By Kolben Danek in Czech Republic. No. 43's sister is no. 7. They were both built in the same year. According to Noah bentley, 13 will be out of service and will be rebuilt in 5 years from now.
Trevlyn Eilers wow they have a lot of engines that's pretty cool that's twice as much as the Cedar Point and Lake Erie Railroad at Cedar Point theme park in Cincinnati Ohio
Do you know if they plan on keeping #13 and #43 in service? Or do they plan on rebuilding them?
13 is out of service.
Trevlyn Eilers Just temporarily?
5 years at least.
May I ask some questions about #14?
Have you guys done Break-in runs?
What whistle is it wearing?
Has it been converted to a 2-4-0T?
Thanks, Trevlyn
Trevlyn The Trainiac
Yes, 14 completed her 50 laps yesterday.
It currently has a Star 5 Chime
It is an 0-4-0T
@@Sethab97 Okay cool. I heard the whistle today from my house.
What is running on opening day and who will be the engineers?
What was running today? I heard the whistle.
Thanks
Trevlyn The Trainiac the plan is to have 14 running on opening day. Engineers will be myself and maybe Noah. 43 ran earlier today, 76 is running right now.
Was the dynamo new or old?
Trevlyn the Train guy
The dynamo is old
@@Sethab97 Okay thanks
Where in the park was the run over taken?
Trevlyn The Trainiac It was taken by Moonshine Stump. I was a train robber that day so I took the video while waiting for the train to come around
@@Sethab97 okay. What about the long-long-short-long in the beginning of the video? Where we're they blowing that at?
Trevlyn The Trainiac that was the whistle at Powder Keg Hill. It was two Longs, just done fancy
@@Sethab97 alright. Thanks.
Trevlyn The Trainiac no problem
Hopefully we will run 43 some this year. She looks really good.
Nice! Why don't they run with a fireman? I know they normally don't but i just think it looks weird.
I’m not sure, I know they want to.
Not much need when it's a small locomotive like the ones they run.
