- A digital twin is a virtual representation of a physical object, process, or machine that enables companies to understand and optimize how that machine operates. A digital twin is a computer model of a real-world system that captures all the variables in that system -- including how materials interact with other materials, machines, or people in the factory -- along with algorithms that help predict how the system might behave under various conditions.
Dr. Norbert Gaus is one of the world's leading experts on digital twins and is EVP for Research and Development for Digitalization and Automation at Siemens Corporate Technology.
In this video, Dr. Norbert Gaus discusses the challenges of bringing digital twin automation to life. He offers sage advice to business leaders considering digital twin technology for their own companies.
In this conversation you will learn about topics that include:
-- What is a digital twin?
-- How a digital twin improves manufacturing
-- Machine learning models used to create a digital twin
-- Ensuring the digital twin accurately represents the physical object
-- Digital twins across the product lifecycle
-- Customer applications for the digital twin

Dr. Norbert Gaus of Siemens Corporate Technology defines the concept of a digital twin as a "digital representation of a physical product in all its aspects." Digital twin technology can speed time to market, reduce costs, and allow a company to create a much broader portfolio of products.
Dr. Gaus explains how Siemens uses AI-based simulations to take the place of creating multiple physical prototypes to achieve new designs. He describes how Siemens combines a digitized version of the physical product with artificial intelligence throughout the product life cycle. That product lifecycle includes design, components, manufacturing, operations, and service and maintenance.
Probably cost huge amount of money. For big companies and complex products. Huge amount of effort at the beginning (benefits after). Less manpower therefore more unemployment on Earth...
AI working with the environment to help focusing on what’s optimal to simulate. That’s an interesting concept.
q
How are you auto generating the PLC code in this instance?
Good presentation. Can multicore processor's be virtually represented using Digital twin? Please let me know
Is there any library model ready for a standard components like a servo valve?
Interesting !!, Could you provide data to build a digital twins mock-up for PhD thesis??
Yes, the digital twin of your thesis is on the way!!
@@CXOTalk not yet I should select an equipment that can provide data to start conceiving my mock-up
Great achievement congratulations.
Siemens designs Digital Twin Aggregate according to Dr Grieves
What software Siemens has in order to use digital twin?
Check their website. They have a variety of solutions and platforms.
This was great input for MARIPHI FUTURISTIC HEALTHCARE PROJECT................
Good one and learnt thank you
All talk no substance. After all these years customer are still unable to see value in all this expensive analysis.
Thanks for your comment. However, with all due respect, digital twins are being used extensively today across many industries.
Good explanation about what the digitlal twin is, thank you
Thank you for commenting. Dr. Gaus is one of the best in the world.
They're doing this to humans now.
power packed !!great stuff:) thanks!
SUCCESS...
Good talk

Great content! Thanks to Dr. Gaus for the clear explanations and thanks to Mr. Krigsman for a perfectly fitting interview-style!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Informative video
Glad you think so!
would like to see more stuff like this
Keep watching!
