You can make a bassist a front man, but he's still a bassist at heart. Love how he still faces the drummer when he's not singing....like any good bass player!
+firstmusic00 Coming from a drummer I couldn't agree more man! Very important for the drummer and bassist to see each other's queues for timing. These guys deserve all they are getting and more. So good!
+CSI Ambleside Obviously you aren't a Percussionist or Bassist or you would understand. Sounds like you spend too much time in the studio. Or your bedroom for that matter, depending on what you consider "recording" . Timing isn't always going to be exact every time you play with your buddies, especially after breaks or solos. Visual queues are extremely important when playing together whether it be live or even just jamming. These are basic fundamentals of being part of a band. You can't expect to be a functional part of a band if you only jam to recordings..
+CSI Ambleside Ok....I made the original comment because I thought it was cool the way they interact...that's all. You don't have to swoop in and be an ass about it. BTW, been playing drums for 25 years. Plenty of interaction with bass players over the years.
***** I'm not butthurt at all. You just sound like the typical "internet know-it-all" who seems to think everyone is entitled to your opinion.
***** Typo fixed. "Your" opinion.
This guy has some serious riff writing skills.
finally a proper fuckin rock band thats breakin into mainstream, never thought i'd hear music like this on the radio again. this could be the start of something great. my hope is slowly being restored.
Now we've got Highly Suspect too! Is rock coming back? :O

Pop is crap and offensive.
@@CodamATW no
@@ralphgrizzell5516 you are crap and offensive too
@@CodamATW it never really left, but i think rock getting less popular isn't really a problem.
This is music and a band that fully justifies the amount of attention it is getting.
yes.
Made Indar
absolutely ²
i don't agree, it needs way more attention!
and it will fully justify that much attention as well.
Toma Hawk
absolutely getting goosebumbs of this bass playing
I don't always listen to two-man bands, but when I do, it's Royal Blood...
LOL SAME
Don't forget the white stripes!!!
Death From Above 1979?
Chris Dimitris don't forget Local H
Black Keys?
I'm trynna figure out this bloody riff. It's amazing.
it´s killing,
It's very similar to a few Gojira songs
Never heard of Gojira @Eric Bishton
Renate Thomsen - It's a French technical death metal band. Decent stuff. It's pretty groovy, but they're sort of like Meshuggah: they have a cool, interesting, distinct, and recognizable sound... and they don't really stray from it.
I can't find the song I'm thinking of where it's sort of the main riff, but they sort of do something similar in this song, for example ruclips.net/video/uBW5iDvkMHU/видео.html#t=159
***** I hear Jack Black big time but I can totally hear the Gojira now that you point it out even though completely a different genre band. good ear man.
Foo Fighters couldn't of picked a more suitable Supporting Band for their 2015 tour than Royal Blood.

TheHannahPatrice Damn, didn't even care
@@demetriroubanis8091 not really, jist educating people who stupidly believe that couldn't of,shouldn't of and wouldn't of makes sense when in fact its non sensical words stuck together that dont go together
Drummer is a fucking beast. Nothing flashy but solid as fuck with immense groove!
Crowd at the beginning “oh right cool. Do your thing”
Crowd at the end “HOLY FHVHVNFIED THAT WAS AMAZING!!!!”
It's amazing how this band can capture such a full sound with just 2 members. Definitely deserve the praise they've received.
My new favorite band! Simply put, these guys just fuckin' rock!
very cool
No pun intended
these guys should have won the Grammy for Best Album
Ikr
Wait a minute.. IS THAT A BASS?
yes, they use a bass instead of a guitar, in all of their song, which is one of the many reasons I love this band, it sounds epic.
no, it's a trumpet.
No it's didgeridoo ...
AHUAHUAHAUHAUAHUH
fell off my chair laughing @@thecorruptversion
Amazed at the sounds ol dude can get from that bass. The energy created between the drums and bass is awesome too!
How has this been alive this long and I've nearly just heard it? I'm weak.
Strange seeing Ben without a cap on

I really don't know why this band is getting lampooned by the music press? There's a few good reviews out there but most are complaining about them being too harsh, to generic and without a tight sound... Bullshit! I will agree that their sound has influences of QOTSA, Muse, white stipes and other fantastic bands but they definitely have thier own identity! If you listen to the album as a complete body of work, it's just that... Complete! And fucking amazing. I've not been this excited about a band since Muses origin of symmetry! I can't believe two men with a drum kit and bass guitar could create a unique layered sound, the album itself is nothing short of a masterpiece in my opinion.
With me being a multi-instrumentalist myself I find it incredible that the music press/media don't seem to include the fact that there's only 2 of them creating this amazing ensemble. They are far more original than most bands out there.
Yep, most definitely! If seen them live twice now and it's a brilliant experience. Unfortunately we live in an era of Bieber pop, people are far to tuned in to this shit generic sound that bands like royal blood get overlooked.

HOLY CRAP!!! Absolutely fantastic!!!Two guy making awesome sound, Figure it out!
this guy is an artist!!...he run his bass with a normal bass amp and a guitar amp with a octave pedal, that's make a really good sound, combine the two you can clarily heard the bass and the "guitar bass". Genius! That plus a decent drummer make a good band!!
+Rodriguez B-Raf If this guy was a musician of 80's, would now be an icon.
These guys are fucking incredible. Bass sound/playing is top stuff, can't wait for their debut album!
Just seeing that duo power for the first time is a moment i won't forget. They're fucking onto something. It's the kick the music industry needs right now.
Holy shit. They're fantastic.
These guys are fucking amazing, it's only a matter of time before they become more widely known. They're already being played frequently in Belgium
The white stripes + muse = royal blood.
Future Films today i thought "muse + jane's addiction"
Future Films I looooove Royal Blood but to me Muse are more unique and special. Besides Royal Blood actually have been influenced by Muse
Add queen's of the stone age into the mix as well
White Stripes but bass
Zep sprung to mind for me
Just got turned on to this song about a week ago and can't get it out of my head. These guys are amazing...sounds like at least a 4 piece!!
anyone can explain how does he get that guitar sound on a bass guitar.. and at the same time still have deep lows on the lowest string when needed? what is he using? is it a mix of amplifiers? or a special effect pedal?
I saw this live and was amazed how without switching any effects (or that's what I think) he can produce a deep low note on the low string and shift to a small bluesy guitar sound a split of a second later!
he has his bass running through a few foot pedals, a bass amp, and a guitar amp. just heard him discuss it on a radio interview last night. truly unique.
The main thing he is probably doing is using an octave pedal with a stereo split option (I have one - they are awesome) so that he can split his bass signal and guitar signal between two amps and then also have distortion and other effects on the guitar signal. He probably also uses an amp switcher so he can isolate each of the separate signals for different parts. I know he probably uses a digitech whammy too like tom morello, matt bellamy and jack white. You can hear it heaps on the album :)
Ryan Sorensen This is nearly correct. I believe he's using a volume pedal on the bass signal that allows him to mute it just by pressing it.
It's an ABY pedal
He definitely has a whammy pedal (he does a dive bomb before the solo)
does this count as drum and bass?
Crafty Would say so. I guess he just used some hefty effects for that, but damn that's good
HAR HAR!!
No because there's vocals
Wouldn't be surprised If see these lads headlining TITP, Glastonbury or Reading in a couple of years!
Ace track! Discovered via the current Samsung TV ad - which shows that, sometimes, advertising is good for something after all. :)
Same! Most of the times ad music is not my thing. But occasionally a pearl will be discovered, like ''Jonathan Johansson - Made Of'' from the Volvo V90 commercial!
I think Cliff Burton would be very impressed with the bassist/frontman.
I would have never thought this was just a duo by hearing the song on the radio, they have a very full sound for just a 2 man band, but the bass easily gives a much more full and dense sound than a guitar and drums like white stripes. I wonder if he uses a harmonizing or pitch pedal to fatten the sound, I would guess yes.
The remaining Beatles should cover this
This is proper good - stripped down, raw & full of energy.
This is absolutely bad ass
maaaaaaan I'm loving how much attention they have gained! They deserve it!!
Wow! The drummers energy and head banging is brilliant! The vocals and guitar tone is ace! Love it!
My favorite live performance by them
Such a deep, heavy sound all from just 2 dudes.
It's so refreshing that people are giving a shit about heavy rock in the UK again.
Royal Blood are the bizzo !!!!!
Heard them on Howard Stern this week. F'ing awesome!
No wonder Jimmy Page is raving about them.
This is what's next in Rock.
Esta banda esta chingona! Desde la primera rola que escuche, dije wtf! excelente banda!

Oh my...just bought a HP Pavilion 23xw with BEATS AUDIO. The BEST deal of the month. WOW...
They are blowing up for sure. Great Live Performance , great musicians .
I think the last 30 seconds are the best
Im 59 years old, seen and lived thru all kinds of rock.
These two guys kick ass. What hes doing on a bass and having that quality of a drummer is rock magic.
This track is pure fiyah!!! Straight up and down FLAMES!
Proper tune, favourite song by them!
Band and album of the year Period
Really fucking good live. love bands like that.
Ever since I first heard this song on the radio I can't get it out of my head. One lingering question though...How in the hell do you get a lead guitar riff out of a BASS guitar?
Muse and royal blood tuned their guitars in DROP D
Johnny Aguilar Royal Blood use a bass btw :)
+Morgan Wheeler i know i was kidding. I have the same base
Johnny Aguilar My bad :) Cool bass
Johnny Aguilar DROP X! Jk. Seriously, when someone talks about "DROP D" I just start thinking of the heaviest riffs ever lol
+The_Red Bullet hahaha yep lml
Seeing these guys in a few weeks, haven't been so keen to see a band live since QOTSA/NIN toured here early last year. Kickass duo!
my new fav band . obsessed with them
That is a lot of SOUND coming out of just 2 people! Bravo!
so much noise from just two people! FUCKING LOVE IT
I Marangones approvano il sound dei ROYAL BLOOD e li eleggono gruppo dell'anno 2014!!!!!
I remember seeing Royal Blood at T In The Park on TV last year before Biffy Clyro (my favourite band.) I can't remember what I thought of them but I think I thought they were cool. Now I've listened to their album properly I realise what an amazing band they are!
Nick Shillito i felt the same way about biffy clyro when i saw them open for muse!
Great sound outta 2 musicians- love this song!
They are giving me life! LOVE them!

BEST 2 MAN BAND GOIN
Awesome!
Mindblower
wow. pure talent.
Nice, I like the way he makes his bass sound like a guitar. I guess Muse also does this sonic trickery on some of their live performances.
One fan more in Belgium.
Cheers from Antwerp & Mechelen
Tom

Amazing! 2:25

Drummer looks like a young Andy Richter. Awesome band. Theres a pretty short list of two man bands out there and these guys might be on top.
As a electric guitar player for 20 some years I never was a Bass fan. Until now. I think I'll have to Bass shopping.
EX-FUCKING-PLOSIVE!!! BEST ROCK SONG I HAVE EVER HEARD IN MY ENTIRE LIFE!!! Can't wait to see you here in NZ :-)
