What if you could have things orbit around your head?

  • I'm a millennial. I want things to revolve around me. So I made this machine that puts things into orbit around my head. It's a fairly terrible project, and an even worse video. But I just need to post something at this point so...

      The water-damaged controller is pretty easy to repair... Just buy some distilled water, open the controller, soak the electronic board in a container filled with distilled water for about 15 minutes and dry it with a hair dryer. In my experience, it works most of the time for any kind of electronic devices that got water-damaged.

    • @ZoidsNut
      @ZoidsNut 6 лет назад

      +Frank Einstein I've not heard the distilled water step before in this recovery process. I thought you could just open the controller and use the hair dryer?

    • @Reth_Hard
      @Reth_Hard 6 лет назад +3

      +ZoidsNut Disclaimer: USE THIS TECHNIQUE AT YOUR OWN RISK! :)
      When you spill water inside an electronic device, the problem, most of the time, is not the water by itself but the minerals inside it. Distilled water will dissolve those minerals and will clean the board. Minerals can create shortcuts on low voltage components. *DON'T USE THIS TECHNIQUE WITH ANYTHING CONTAINING A SCREEN, IT WILL DEFINITELY DAMAGE IT!!* So don't do that on any cellphone or LCD screen, etc...
      If you look at the board and you see some dirt or minerals somewhere on the circuit, you can just use an alcohol pad to clean it, this is safer than soaking the whole thing in distilled water. I repaired a lot of devices like that.

    • @ZoidsNut
      @ZoidsNut 6 лет назад

      +Frank Einstein Cool! Thanks for the info. Yeah, I don't have any need to use the technique at the moment myself, but it's good to know. Do you know if distilled water will work on stuff like spilled soda? Or is the machine just dead then?

    I'm in awe of this appliance. It's like the sort of thing that the Jetsons would wear, or that would be featured in commercials of "the future" in the 1950s.
    I can totally see this in a workshop setting. The ring having different work stations on it. A soldering station, a voltmeter, a drill, a hammer/punch, a saw.
    Good luck with the TED talk! It'll be awesome!
