So what is God saying to us in this passage? To help us prayerfully ponder that question, here is a short reflection by popular Catholic writer and speaker, Steve Ray of catholicconvert.com.
Stephen K. Ray was raised in a devout and loving Baptist family. His father was a deacon and Bible teacher, and Stephen was very involved in the Baptist Church as a teacher of Biblical studies. After an in-depth study of the writings of the Church Fathers, both Steve and his wife Janet converted to the Catholic Church. He is the host of the popular, award-winning film series on salvation history, The Footprints of God. Steve is also the author of the best-selling books Crossing the Tiber, and St. John's Gospel. He is a parishioner at Christ the King Parish in Ann Arbor.

I love your book “St.John’s Gospel “. As a convert to the Catholic faith, who was raised Baptist, I find your book invaluable for understanding and loving the Eucharist. Thank you.

You can never get enough of Steve Ray! He among other Catholic evangelists was a big part of my reversion to the faith.

I like the way that John 6 is read over 5 Sundays [weeks 17-21 of Ordinary Time/ July-August] in Year B.

Another example of the folly of not allowing select laypeople to preach/teach the Mass sermon.

A lot more have been taught by Steve Ray by books, tapes, and videos than would ever been accomplished by preaching at a Mass.
