Greens Ledge Lighthouse Restoration

Greens Ledge Light is a historic offshore lighthouse located one mile from the coast of Norwalk and Darien Connecticut. Greens Ledge Light Preservation Society acquired the Lighthouse in 2016 and completed a five-year $2.5M restoration in 2023. Before the restoration began, Greens Ledge Light was listed as in 'Deteriorated' condition on the National Register of Historic Places, which is one demarcation above 'Ruins.' Underscoring the challenges of maintaining an offshore caisson lighthouse, of the four lighthouses built to the same blueprints as Greens Ledge Light, only two are currently still standing. Greens Ledge Light now hosts tours and private events that help to fund the continued preservation efforts.
