You definitely pay JBL prices for the JBL name as well. This happens in car audio as well. I currently have an Onyx Studio 2 which I love but one of the legs has snapped (twice!) and I really like the grey colour on the new ones (sad I know!) and feel like treating myself. The portability of the Citation seems pretty cool with the charging dock you just plonk it on and if the deep low bass hits as good as, if not better than the OS6 then I think that’ll be a winner!
I have Anker Soundcore Motion +. Does it make sense to buy a Mifa Wildbox? And it would be interesting they both have auxiliary input to connect to it and make a perfect speaker? Maybe you could connect them with a double wire and test how they sound and who will come out of this?
sure they have very different tuning. well i have so much i could potentially do a video on this isnt gonna be top of the list as it wont be a practical portable solution.
Sorry for the late response, did not see this video for some reason yet lol. So as you see, clearly those have the same drivers. This "mifa" speaker did not deliver anything special here, most people still prefer the xtreme 3. They thought that buying the same drivers, putting it in a way way cheaper plastic cabnet with a handle just like the motion boom, it would attract more people. So no, it was a fail. And i bought my xtreme 3 for 190 dollars so deals like that would be prefered any day of the weak than the other garbage that is worth the price and you get cheap crap. You did call me a jbl fanboy, i wouldnt say im a fanboy, im just realistic about things, and i know what most people like in the portable audio world. The numbers do not lie. You own even more jbl's than i do probably, so im not the fanboy for sure 😮
😜 Always make me smile. What i will say is the wildbox has evolving firmware and will sound quite different depending on version. Personally i prefer boom over wildbox but plenty of people prefer wildbox. However you look at it, wildbox is cheaper than xtreme and for a lot of people on a budget thats a big deal.
@@alanrossreviews the thing is, all they tried to do here is to make it sound as close to the xtreme 3 as they could, and make it cheaper. But what if you get the xtreme 3 for such a price like i did? Ofc that the xtreme 3 is the better pick Its the originality, the looks, more bass and power to the sound, durability, nice material use and overall features.
If you look at the cost per square inch of logo the JBL is the clear winner. I heard the EU is considering legislation to force manufacturers to disclose logo surface area and the nutrition facts of the free lunch. I'm not going to hold my breath, though ... unless they include a balloon of nitrous.
Hi Alan, just wondering what source of input music do u use, I use Spotify but I stumbled on a new radio station an it transformed the sound, my motion plus sounds nearly like my motion boom!!
Thanks for another great comparison. I wonder about the durability of the Wildbox, looks very plasticy and cheap, else it has a very nice warm sound. I personally would go with JBL because nothing beats that big sexy logo 😉
@@alanrossreviews you did mention it but not talking about durability. would be interesting to see a review of someone who has been using it for 1-2 years and see if it still lasts or are there any issues with sound, connectivity etc.

@@alanrossreviews the only bad thing about it is the price. Sony xb43 has better sound and at the same price, but it is not portable like the charge 5, that is why it is so important that the maximum size is like the charge 5. thanks

@@pemalama23 hard to tell as I don't have any experience with the Motion Boom. What I can tell about the Wildbox is it has so moderate bass by default that I use it always with bass mode enabled. It also boosts the mids as well, not just bass.
BTW, I'm nerdish enough to run the sound sample tests through Room EQ Wizard's RTA app set to use my PC's "Realtek Stereo Mix" input to get an idea of how low these bluetooth speakers really go. The RTA suggests that the output drops like a rock below 50 Hz (at least, based on the sample music), but that's still pretty good for boxes that small. Would love to see how they handle music that really taxes how they handle bass at lower frequencies than that. You know, stuff like DeadMau5's "When the Summer Dies" with its prominent 45 Hz bass or even Cristoph's perhaps appropriately-titled "Out of Reach" with its 40 Hz and 34 Hz bass tones. Does the speaker's electronics adequately deal with the stuff that the drivers have no ability to actually reproduce, or does the overall sound turn into an unholy mess? I guess I'll have to buy one of them and find out for myself.... :)
@@alanrossreviews From one comment on the update: "welcome tones are less loud, lights now react to the music, and the bass button now works at all volumes. The sound has changed, it's less bass heavy and clearer".
@@alanrossreviews I'm a little worried too. But not too much. My old Sharp QT3 boombox (Lord, I'm dating myself now!) had an FR that seemed to slope upward from about 100 Hz (and nothing below), but guess what - it was great for rock music when placed on the ground and listened to while you were sitting or standing about a few feet away. The combination of the few dB gain from ground plane use and listening to the speakers off-center instead of directly in line with them seemed to "adjust" the overall frequency curve quite nicely, at least to my admittedly less critical listening tastes at the time (I used to listen to Saxon, Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, etc) . Other boomboxes sounded quite dull and boxy in comparison. If I do pick up one of these boxes (and I'm really leaning towards doing so now), I'll be measuring it under the same conditions, before I do the mods that I'm planning to do to it (btw, thanks for showing that the front grille is easy to get off, giving access to the drivers and subsequently the inside of the speaker!).
Mifa Wildbox doesn't use the same drivers as GG Xtreme 3. They look like ND Xtreme 3 drivers. However looking similar doesn't obviously mean they're the same. Anyway I'm getting a Wildbox next month since it's available on Amazon now, that's why I came back here. Can't wait to get it 👍

@@alanrossreviews I've seen a video of a dude putting the Motion Boom drivers in the Select Pro and it sounded instantly better. I guess the drivers is the only reason why Select Pro is worse
Xtreme 3 have quite a nice quality bass, but does Mifa Wildbox manages such a quality, tight bass ? I know Motion Boom goes deeper but is less tight. I would like to know if Wildbox is better However there's no way in hell that Xtreme 3 is 100W, they maybe use 4 25W drivers but I can't see the amp being bigger than 2x25W
@@alanrossreviews I see, so is Wildbox meatier than Motion Boom ? Because the lack of tightness on the Boom shows as soon as a track doesn't have much deep bass in it

Hey Alan, can you make a fun comparison between the MIFA Wildbox and the JBL Boombox (the first one not the 2) ? As both of these speakers have pretty similar specs on paper, such as wattage, frequency response....etc. and it would be interesting to see how a smaller yet very comparable speaker would do against the "big party guy" from JBL.
Not sure if it's just me, listening with my Soundcore Q30 headphones (they are awesome by the way), the Mifa sounded much clearer in the vocals at 50%. Some reason the JBL sounded like it had some static as if you were listening to a radio station signal that was not coming in that clear.
My Man Could You Please Suggest Me A Speaker Under 200 Dollars With Good Loudness But Should Also Habe Good Deep Bass I Was Thinking About The Harman Kardon Onyx Studio 7 Or The Mifa Wildbox
Throw the go play into the mix and the onyx 6. But they dont go too loud due the the amount of bass they retain at max volumes. You can do worse than a pair of booms.
@@alanrossreviews no but I’ve seen others do water tests and it fails I’d say it’s splash resistant at best. If you want a cheap option go for mifa but for tough use and abuse get jbl because it’s designed better. Motion boom atleast isn’t lying it does resist water a lot better.

sure they have very different tuning. well i have so much i could potentially do a video on this isnt gonna be top of the list as it wont be a practical portable solution.
Will be very interesting to see this video. Maybe its can become minirig speakers category :)
Thanks for review! 😅
My pleasure 😊
Yes sir Alan🏆
He's here 👌👍👍
Sorry for the late response, did not see this video for some reason yet lol.
@@alanrossreviews if you bought your xtreme 3 for 190 dollars, would you still think the same?
@@alanrossreviews the thing is, all they tried to do here is to make it sound as close to the xtreme 3 as they could, and make it cheaper. But what if you get the xtreme 3 for such a price like i did? Ofc that the xtreme 3 is the better pick
Its the originality, the looks, more bass and power to the sound, durability, nice material use and overall features.
@@shoerice5083 for me im not big on the wildbox. However i do pick up my motion boom over the x3.
@@shoerice5083 i have the x3, the wildbox and the motion boom. I choose the motion boom with custom eq over them both.
If you look at the cost per square inch of logo the JBL is the clear winner. I heard the EU is considering legislation to force manufacturers to disclose logo surface area and the nutrition facts of the free lunch. I'm not going to hold my breath, though ... unless they include a balloon of nitrous.
on fire today 👌💯😁😁
Thank you Alan great work
thank you 😝
Hi Allan,
I read about the Sharp PS-919.
Is ist possible to test that Boy?
Greetings from Germany ✌️
not one that i have had much interest in so far.....
I love your reviews. Can you compare the Mifa Wildbox against the extremely cheap Tronsmart Bang? I really would like to hear your opinion :)
noted..................
Which one is better suited for bass heavy music? (Don't know the difference between warm sound and agile sound)
Personally i prefer motion boom, but x3 would beat the wildbox but at a heavy price
@@alanrossreviews Thanks! How about x3 against motion boom? Which one is better for bass heavy music?
@@All_Black250 x3 goes deeper but can be a bit shreeky when pushed
Hi Alan, just wondering what source of input music do u use, I use Spotify but I stumbled on a new radio station an it transformed the sound, my motion plus sounds nearly like my motion boom!!
yeah but doesnt the boom sound better too????
Thanks for another great comparison. I wonder about the durability of the Wildbox, looks very plasticy and cheap, else it has a very nice warm sound. I personally would go with JBL because nothing beats that big sexy logo 😉
Yes dont recall if i mentioned that in the video. Very different form factors and jbl more travel and knock friendly.
@@alanrossreviews you did mention it but not talking about durability. would be interesting to see a review of someone who has been using it for 1-2 years and see if it still lasts or are there any issues with sound, connectivity etc.
Ah! That will be interesting
@@udim7284 FWIW I'm on my second Wildbox. My first one did not survive being plugged into a dodgy USB 3.0 charger. And as luck would have it, my second one managed to attempt suicide by jumping off the bathroom counter all by itself. It was damaged internally and I had to take it apart to put it back together, but you'd never know from looking at it that it suffered some internal trauma and it still sounds great.
Honestly this makes me want to buy the Mifa now but people doint really care for the Xtreme 3 due to the price tag and on Amazon in the US it's 349.95 and it was 379.95 also about the wattage on the Xtreme 3 it's 40 watts DC 50 watts AC
spec sheet says:Rated output power: 2 x 25W RMS woofer +
2 x 25W RMS tweeter (AC power mode)
SO EVERYONE BEEN WRONG ALL THIS TIME 😭 well I'll probably make a video clarifying this and once again thank you Alan for pointing out the obvious and making me fell stupid ☠️
its what i do 🥳
What do you think about JBL Xtreme 3 firmware 0.2.1.6 compared to 0.1.8.8? I've read about slightly changed sound characteristics, especially reduced bass and boosted mids and highs, which I'm not sure if I want that.

Hi Alan, can you connect 2 wildbox's and play them in stereo like the Motion Boom? If not... Is the difference very big in quality then if you compare them 2 versus 2?
no they dont do tws. i havent tried 2v2 since it doesnt have tws and boom is tws only

Alan, a question, what speaker would you recommend that is the maximum size of charge 5? With good bass for outdoors.
Tell you that you have the best speaker videos on the internet.
well my first question is whats wrong with the charge 5??
@@alanrossreviews the only bad thing about it is the price. Sony xb43 has better sound and at the same price, but it is not portable like the charge 5, that is why it is so important that the maximum size is like the charge 5. thanks
@@mowglimowgli4971 Get the Mifa Wildbox. It's not that much bigger, plus it has a handle as well. I can easily put it inside my backpack if I want to. @@pemalama23 hard to tell as I don't have any experience with the Motion Boom. What I can tell about the Wildbox is it has so moderate bass by default that I use it always with bass mode enabled. It also boosts the mids as well, not just bass.
Hey Alan did you planned to get the Tribit XSound Mega?☺️
Got it, next video 👍
@@alanrossreviews looking forward to it😃
@@alanrossreviews Some mono goodness incoming 😝
yup! jbl showed the way 🤪
Mifa Wildbox or Harman Go+Play. Which one is more accurate?
go+ play has the edge but its quite close but that doesnt really tell you about how it sounds in presentation.
Mifa has provided a software update that adjusts the sound of the Wildbox a bit. I wonder how the updated Wildbox would do against the Extreme 3?
probably close 👍
The sound has changed, it's less bass heavy and clearer".
less bass heavy already has me worried 😫
Can't wait to get it 👍
yeah i cant say they are the same, just repeating what the jbl fanboy told me 😁😁 welcome back 👌

can you do soundcore select pro vs motion boom, I think a lot of people are confused over it.

Wow. just one great speaker
Do you think the Mifa Wildbox would easily win today with the new firmware (2.0.6)?
nope
Xtreme 3 have quite a nice quality bass, but does Mifa Wildbox manages such a quality, tight bass ? I know Motion Boom goes deeper but is less tight. I would like to know if Wildbox is better
However there's no way in hell that Xtreme 3 is 100W, they maybe use 4 25W drivers but I can't see the amp being bigger than 2x25W
There is a quality to the bass with xtreme. Its as i mention in the video, it has a meatyness to it that is missing on the wildbox.
@@alanrossreviews I see, so is Wildbox meatier than Motion Boom ? Because the lack of tightness on the Boom shows as soon as a track doesn't have much deep bass in it
I wouldnt describe it that way, i would say leaner which could sound like Tighter.

@@alanrossreviews oh, I see. 👌
Not sure if it's just me, listening with my Soundcore Q30 headphones (they are awesome by the way), the Mifa sounded much clearer in the vocals at 50%. Some reason the JBL sounded like it had some static as if you were listening to a radio station signal that was not coming in that clear.
well it might be the wonky highs due to 13khz peak
Mifa is good base but jbl is good saround in my opinion

Hello mr shoerice 👍
If you don't care about battery life, go HK Onyx Studio 7, the deep bass is on another level
Throw the go play into the mix and the onyx 6. But they dont go too loud due the the amount of bass they retain at max volumes. You can do worse than a pair of booms.
