Great vid mate, I put down TifTuf 4 weeks ago in Brisbane and the results are good so far. I’ll be interested to watch your progress. Thanks for all the helpful vids.
Love your channel. How far was the top soil from the top concrete? Just wanting to know how far i should leave mine to get a nice edge when laying tiftuf?
Awesome mate! I put 335m2 of TifTuf in my backyard in early Feb. It's lovely grass. I've got a bit of nutgrass (i think) and clover starting to appear in a small patch. Hoping Sedgehammer will knock them over. Keep the great content coming!
Just did a TifTuf lawn price calculator for my place...I shut the calculator down, laid down, tried not to cry and then cried. No, we won’t be going with turf...great video mate.
That looks sweet mate! My Bermuda here in Central Texas is out of dormancy and the thin spots are starting to fill in nicely. You have been quite busy for the past few weeks!
Thanks for the ongoing great content Ben! Would be good to see a how to video laying concrete edging at that top end, shady section between the lawn and the rocks, would keep things nice and tidy. Any chance of that?
Looks great, mate, and it will only look better as it establishes. If the front edge of my lawn doesn't come in better when I overseed in the fall, I may sod it next spring. I need to get it thicker to minimize the damage that plow trucks do in the winter. You'll see it on Insta this weekend or later next week. Chelsea on Sunday. Hoping Crystal Palace helps us out w/City as well. Then off to Porto midweek and hopefully sealing a semifinal spot. Colin is bowling Sunday, so I'll miss those matches. He is getting so good! I'm almost caught up! YNWA John
Hey mate I work for a small lawn solutions turf farm on the south coast and everyones in love with tif tuf we can't sell enough of it we actually love it so much we ripped up our RTF rescue paddock to plant tif tuf
Probably gonna wait until spring to do my new lawn. Any benefit to improving the soil between now and then while I wait? (ie; adding some blood and bone and turning over every couple of months?)
Second time watching this video, have this been done in early April? is it still good time to lay new turf at the end of April- early May for sydney region ?
Great video once again Ben, and Great that you did part of your neighbours section as well, I wouldn’t recommend stones in that area, only because the bins won’t sit flat on them, Plus you’ll end up with weeds coming through, Why not pave that area or concrete....just my 2 cents worth from Someone that bought a house and the previous owners had Stones Everywhere Lol 😂, gradually getting rid of them All....🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺😎😎
I'm a young turfer in Australia, and I was always told to boarder edge... Just wondering why you don't? Does it look better in the long run or just cant be bothered stuffing around with it?
How does TiffTuff go in consecutive hard frosts? Iv got Sapphire Buff and it dies on patches every winter in Albury. Thinking about TiffTuff but i also have a dog.
Does anyone know if I am switching from Tifway 2 Hybrid Bermuda (only a year old) to TifTuf Bermuda do I need to kill all of the roots of the Tifway when I remove the grass with a sod cutter or will removing the grass with a sod cutter 2inches down do the trick and I am safe to just place the TifTuf on top after I place some new soil after removal?
Hey mate love the vids, keep up the good work 👍 Just wondering what the name of that track is that was playing when you were levelling the dirt? Cheers
I just laid some Shadetuff yesterday with a starter fertiliser, would you recommend using Plant Doctor products straight away? I bought your pack and some soil wetter. Thanks!
Can you please get sum focus pics on that grass detail when you step that shovel between the lines I bet it looks perfect for focus pictures thanks your countrys beautiful I can tell by the sky's good bless
If you were going for a putting green I would have gone for the "Sir Grange" its been proven on putting greens around the world already. Interested to see how the TifTuf goes being cut greens heights.
@@LawnTips It should work. People make greens out of Santa Ana and the TifTuf out preforms it easily. Maybe for your sprig video go for the Sir Grange, can save some money of the massive price tag LSA put on it. **Zoysia Fanboy here ;)**
Man you must get some storms down there ahah! Every time you film theres a storm coming 😂 lawn goals but Doing half your neighbours lawn to nice guy ahaha
Love the vids mate! Just wondering how much that amount of turf set you back? Our backyard is nothing but stones and extremely hard soil, coming into winter now we’re paying for it a bit with our dogs needing to go outside, and if it’s been raining the white tiles throughout the entire house get trashed. So we’re looking at getting some grass growing. But it’s only a rental and don’t want to shell out stupid amounts of coin. Our other alternative is getting some topsoil delivered and then trying to start from scratch with seeds. What do you recommend? Keep up the awesome content mate! Thanks!
Hey mate! It can range in price. anywhere from $11-15 (check with your turf farm) This was 50m2 of turf. The seed would definitely be cheaper! Just a lot harder to get established and it's starting to get a bit late now to seed. Turf you can lay all year round.
What kind of Bermuda was that? And so you said it's the same as Kush, is that Australia slang, haha, thanks for the vid!! And hope your finger heals quickly
Yo mate, I’m about to lay some zoysia 👍🏼 thanks for the tips! Im also curious as to why you didn’t lay length ways? P.S. I hope your finger heals up soon
If you lay it length ways you can end up with some bad run off damage when it rains. There is a slight slope of that area and if all the side joins are following the slope you’ll have dramas when you water or it rains heavy. The way he has laid it is the preferred direction. Hope your lawn goes well for you 👍👍
Lawn Tips oh man, too much beer today on the golf course. Soz :) Edited :) Enjoy the rain while you can dude. We’ll get it here in Radelaide eventually 👍
I live in PHX AZ i see big potential nfor profits in this couch turf you speak of lmao jp but then way you pay grass so pretty compared to the Mexicans here just slapped that dry ass grass on and they never level there grass I think this summer where gonna rip out our irrigation system I one of our apartment complex and put a new Hunter system but this grass yo got can it work in AZ ?
favourite style of lawn tubing. no bullshit, straight to the point. cheers from alberta.
Fun to go back and watch the start of this project. Now that it’s almost a completed golf green.
Very nice work! That sod came in pristine sheets!
Yeah I was pretty impressed, thanks my man!
Love tiftuf! I can only imagine how good you will get it looking 😍

So many projects and diverse things happening on the channel. Always look forward to Saturday 12pm.

Awesome job mate! Gotta love that Bermuda grass esp. low & tight!!!
I hate sodding. Working on a private golf course we do lots of it. Thanks for the vid- love the channel. Love them warm season grasses.
Looks pretty good. We had snow down here last week in N/E Victoria. My perennial rye has gone dormant. Here comes winter.

Super cool! That must be so satisfying at the end! Very jealous! Great video!
I really like bermuda. That's gonna look real nice once it's all established. Good work, Ben! 👍😎👌
Keeeeeen! Nice work! Already looks great.
Thanks bro!
Im new to your channel mate, and love your work. I've had Tiftuf Bermuda for 6 months now and love it! Drought tolerant and looks like carpet. 👌
Thanks for following along mate! Awesome, can't wait till I'm 6 months in with it

haha, you can talk them down in price if you call up!
always love youre videos
Should I level soil for tiff 20mm under concrete line to get it level with concrete
Aw man, this is gonna be perfect for triangle stripes. ⛳

Good work bro - that Tif Tuf is nice stuff! They grow it on the sod farms here too.

love sir walter so awesome to mow

Thanks mate! I'm only going to put a sleeper in there, unfortunately. I don't have much experience with concrete edging.

What camera are you using!?
Probably gonna wait until spring to do my new lawn. Any benefit to improving the soil between now and then while I wait? (ie; adding some blood and bone and turning over every couple of months?)
So warm season turf in a cool season climate? Will be interesting to see how it does.
Will go dormant in winter no doubt. But we have a lot of couch at work on fairways and the bowling green. Will be fine 👍🏽
Do you do any type of compaction on the soil prior to putting the turf on? In prefer the soil pretty loose and fluffy?
Hi, which grass do you recommend for Melbourne? Sir Walter Buffalo or kings pride or kikuyu? Thankyou
Do you just put soil onto of sand and that's it? Is there anything to make it better for laying the lawn?
Do you find it goes brown in winter though?
Where do you aim for your lawn to match the concrete
Bro... Im lovin your background music... 🤷♂️ who were the artist😁??? Ohh very informative sod laying video...

Thanks Janelle! I've got rocks all around the back, pretty happy with them! I use pre-emergent and it helps with the weeds!
Do you get your sod cut the same day so it can be fresh?
no starter fert underneath the turf?
What song was played 5:45

Yeah will go dormant with a few hard Frosts no doubt
So how can you check if it is rooted down? Are you just going to pull on the grass to check if it holds on to the soil or...?
Try and pull it up! If it doesn't lift up, it's rooted down.
Do you put down some start-up fertiliser and wetting agents or is it in the turf underlay soil?
I originally planned to, but I ended up just putting my special mix down. Planning to hit it with Fert this week!
Hey mate love the vids, keep up the good work 👍
Just wondering what the name of that track is that was playing when you were levelling the dirt? Cheers
Thanks mate! It's called "You Are All I Need" by Spring Gang
or did you mean this song? Bitten By Cupid - Slowfly
Insta-Lawn! You’ll be converting the other side soon enough! Good work!
I just laid some Shadetuff yesterday with a starter fertiliser, would you recommend using Plant Doctor products straight away? I bought your pack and some soil wetter. Thanks!
good job. i all ways try to lay off the longest edge to save on cutting in .👍
Thanks mate,
Only reason I didn’t is because it’s on a slope 👍🏽
👍.I'd be happy with the job anyway
I have a new lawn and I apply 6 months of pro diamine on 3/10/19... Would I damage my lawn if I apply a post emergent to kill the weeds?
no. If your turf grass is buffalo avoid generic ones and go ones that say buffalo because one of the formula is not safe for buff
Hi Ben. Just wondering how much underlay did you order for that area?
Can you please get sum focus pics on that grass detail when you step that shovel between the lines I bet it looks perfect for focus pictures thanks your countrys beautiful I can tell by the sky's good bless
Turf at the length when laid looks lower than level of driveway. Will that cause issues when mowed?
I only did that because I would have had to bring in oodles of dirt. Should be fine!
Hey mate, layed my tiftuf yesterday and have watered a fair bit, is it to late to roll in?
Not at all man. Go for it!
When can you start walking on it?
Oh yeah love it
What would you put on it to get the roots going
I've been putting down my special mix and that's it!
If you were going for a putting green I would have gone for the "Sir Grange" its been proven on putting greens around the world already. Interested to see how the TifTuf goes being cut greens heights.
That’s the whole point actually. Just to see how it goes. Bit of a test.

Would TifTuf grow out of control into garden beds
Dumb question but how much dirt did you get delivered ?
I got 1m3 delivered
Is it possible to stripe that type of Bermuda?
Sure is!
@@LawnTips try to stripe it in a zic zac pattern
Love me some couch, too cold in Wisconsin though. Couch hides around these parts.
Nothing better than some couch. Cut low, mow that couch!
Yeah it doesn't get the longest season here either
does this guy live in arizona? or is he is south africa or australia. Someone pls let me know
Australia, in a town called Orange in New South Wales.
Looking good mate. How's the finger going ?
Thank man! Going really well this week. Just trying to get movement back in it now, since the wire was pulled!
Nice mate - thoughts on a south facing lawn in Adelaide, close to beach (1K) small, like under 60m2 🌱
You have a few options! Couch would be pretty good if you want to get it nice and low, or check out zoysia!
I just put 70m2 of Kenda Kikuyu down, got it from Paul Munns. I'm near Largs Bay.
Alex D thanks mate
Thanks gents - will check out Zoysia, plenty of support at my office as work with an ex-greenkeeper and golf course super.
What no irrigation first?
The rain provided the irrigation
Want to come help me with my back yard? Great video as always bro!
On my way bro!
Great vid as always mate. Quick question: any reason why you lay it horizontally across instead of vertically?
I did that here because it was on a slight slope. Just to stop it moving more than anything.
Is Tiftuf Bermuda the same as Tifway 419 Bermuda?
I'm not sure sorry mate!
Different Bermuda's but both from Tifton Georgia.
Hope that finger heals soon. Nice lawn as usual!
Thanks mate! It's improving by the day!
Also get a machete to cut the sod, saves so much time.
