I'm a total novice at surf fishing, been going with my daughters. RUclips has been my best friend and you vids are very helpful. Been going surf fishing NorCal a lot and I live in San Jose , Santa Cruz is only a 35 min drive away. Thank you!
Sea bass from shore, just Amazing kid! Always on top of your game!!!🎣💪⚡️🤙
Love watching you fishing in my backyard, keep fishing and I hope to see you down there
Setting a good example for everyone, job well done son, surfing and fishing is the way 👍
Man, you guys are crazy standing in Santa Cruz water. Damn cold.
It’s warmer than the air that’s the weird thing
Ghost hunting? Who you gonna call? EVERETT!!👍
i fished this beach 3 weeks ago! a lot of barred perch. lovely spot!
Sea bass put out a good fight , I been really lucky this yeah caught one off a pier in Long Beach Cali , next to Queensway bridge . Great fishing 🤙🏻
Dam that fish hit hard. Dope
great job man! setting the bar for the rest of us🙌🏽
Dude I was there a couple of days ago and there was sooooo much kelp/algae. I was excited to finally fish there and the ocean said "Not today!"
Great video. What scent did you use on the swim bait?
Bro you killed it good s**t!!
Nice job on the whit sea bass years ago me and a friend where trolling for halibut in the sf bay and ended up landing a 24lb and 31lb white sea bass
Just a little suggestion, stead of cutting your line to replace set ups, make your set up and use clips to attach them to your line, that way you save line and save time.
I prefer tying direct because I have less bulk on the line which can affect the action of certain lures.
Nice catch! Seabass!
Let's see some more videos of you using the penn warfare 30 slamming those striper
I don't own a penn warfare. But more Striper videos to come for sure
Looking good Everet . Very few Nor Cal WSB Y. Tube videos off the beach. White ice is a great option on the plastics. Question own any Green mack color spoons like a Krocodile? The kroc spoons are old school but hold the right water column for WSB plus they cast a good distance.
I lost my metals box so at the moment I don’t own ANY spoons. What size should I go for, around an ounce?
@@thesantacruzsurfcaster6231 Ultimately which rod set up for the Kroc? Also need to run some kind of rotating swivel to stop braid line twist if tossing the spoons. Mentioned Green/mack on the kroc color as its been a proven WSB killer for many decades and there very effective vs the afternoon winds where tossing a hard bait might be difficult.
I'd probably be throwing it on my Lamiglas Insane 9' M rated for 3/8-2 ounces. I've got that paired with a Saltist Back Bay 4000 and 30lb J braid. the rod loads up and casts great from 3/4 to 1 1/2 ounces
@@thesantacruzsurfcaster6231 With the LIS9MS lamiglas and the K frame guides 3/4-1 and 1 and 1/2 krocs would all be options. These are all 3 and 5/ 16ths inch. Personally like the classic and holographic krocs but there is a number of options these days where you can take basic spoon patterns and build your own customs at fractions of the cost. Whats also kinda cool is that there is newer U.V ultra violet tech products which the lure companies have trended towards. One bigger option to consider as well is ultimately setting up a air bush station which would give your the ability to customize everything .
can you do a how to read the surf video? what areas do you look for etc
Siiick!
You should do a how to vid on catching fish from shore, cuz you seem to know where they are and what they want
Fish is a pretty broad term. Any specific ideas?
@@thesantacruzsurfcaster6231 halibut and striper since those seem to be ur most popular species
Nice job bro. What’s the leader set up for them drop shots?
Another good video 😎
Have you ever tried the paddle tail fluke?
What are your thoughts on that rod g? Great videos!
What sent were you using
Great Video! what was that gel you put on the fluke?
Secret...
stoked on your channel man, great work. How you fishing through all the kelp in the water after that south swell? I was thinking of a weighted Swimbait hook with a weedless Texas rigged fluke.
Thanks for watching! It's definitely tough to fish with all that seaweed but the jigging action of the dropshot clears itself off as you work it. Topwater lures get caught up less too.
@@thesantacruzsurfcaster6231 Nice!! Appreciate the tip. Topwater was the only thing I could get through it, so I'll give the dropshot a go.
Sweet hell yea
Did not no we even had white seabass lol. Dope video big dawg!
hey man nice video, when does the slake tide usually happen? Everytime i go its a high tide and the wave were strong.. I wanna fish the slake tide like you did, thanks!
This was a high tide but you can use tides4fishing.com to get a good chart of the tides in your area
I just moved to Malibu area, here slightly north of LA how’s the surf cast fishing here??
I’ve never fished there I wouldn’t know
The Santa Cruz Surfcaster thanks bro also do you have a video on how to set up a drop shot rig?
Yeah about five minutes into this video ruclips.net/video/b2Qcb7p1OXM/видео.html
Nice
You never know what the beach holds. Sometimes you wonder are the fish smarter than you. So do you go fishing everyday?
I try to
So I've not being fishing as much due to my busy schedule but probably twice a week. Lucky you!
What was in the bottle that you put on your lure?
Secret sauce
Just curious, how far are you casting your baits. Thanks
As far as possible, usually about 50 yards with a 1oz weight
how the hell did you pull 17 minutes out of that i have like 5 so far
I accidentally left the whole re tying to a dropshot clip unedited. Lol
@@thesantacruzsurfcaster6231 addsitentally
So sick! Great fishing. Way to keep changing it up to make it happen. Those WSB can really scream drag. What are those long shank hooks you're using for your dropshot rig?
They are 3/0 owner straight worm hooks.
Thanks! Love your setup.
@@thesantacruzsurfcaster6231 What treble hooks did you use to replace on your Calissa? (size)
What hooks for the drop shot set you are you using?
3/0 owner straight worm hooks
What size clip do use to connect to the popper?
Not sure but I don’t recommend it. I usually go with a 50lb Tactical Anglers clip
What scent are you using Everett?
Just a little secret sauce
About where are fishing from in Santa Cruz?
I don't give out locations sorry
Instead of asking use google maps to find spots turn on the satellite image lol don't be a tool
What Size Hook Do You Use For The Dropshot?
Never mind, Found it :)
are you from Santa Cruz?
How heavy is your sinker
An ounce
What's that sauce he put on the swimbait?
The secret variety
@@thesantacruzsurfcaster6231 Ah . . the best kind!
what tides do you usually fish?
I always try and fish the high tide
The Santa Cruz Surfcaster any time of day as long as its high tide?
I mean sunset and sunrise are better but any time the tide is high is usually good enough to get some fish
How many pounds is that mono
12lb on the dropshot
#kayakandsurffishing
👍👍
Fish on brother, haven't seen yo in a minute but looks like your still ripping lips
Hey Everett, No cussing and remind all these viewers to pick up Their Goddamned garbage. Otherwise, nice vids!
Does anyone know where this is? really wanna take my grandpa out, he’d love it.
I wish I wasn't so afraid of the ocean. I get anxiety just watching sometimes.
I feel you. I was afraid of the beach for the longest time after I almost drowned. But going regularly helped me overcome it. Hope this helps. Tight lines!
@@HijoDelFish I'll never forget the guy I watched tumble through the surf. Scary shit.
Take care man.
