    Pull the couches in closer together, will look more cozy. When you have a big home, everything needs to be oversized.

    Hey Sarah and Solo, I live in a very hard water area too and when we remodelled our Victorian house we had a water softener fitted to the water supply into the house, with the exception of the drinking water (by law you cannot filter drinking water in the U.K.) The water softener helps stop lime scale forming in the pipes, dishwasher element and washing machine element which also means the machines last longer. Also from my experience the stainless steel appliance doors are usually covered in a peel off film which attracts static, this will wear stop soon. I use a little baby oil on a dry cloth which gets rid of the hand prints and smudges on the stainless steel appliance doors. Wishing you many happy memories in your new home. Best wishes from London, England.

    • @SquishmallowFamily2024
      @SquishmallowFamily2024 17 минут назад

      Agree with the water softener. I grew up with a well with very hard water and all our water went through the softener except the drinking water tap. Very hard water will destroy appliances very quickly.

    Sarah, what if you pushed the couches together so there is no walkway between them? Also pushing them up to the rug more so you have more space in front of the doors as well as space for your piano. Then the couches would make a connected “U” and be resting on the rug. Walkway would be behind them. I am so excited for you knowing what this new larger house means for your big family! Mama of 12 here, so I get it! lol

    Pull couches in closer, you need room around couches, you don't need that much room in the middle of the room. I had big area like that and yes, you need big sofas. Mine were taller than those. I bought a commercial dust mop that swivels and you spray mop head with spray that takes all dust away and is so easy to use. I thinking bought it at supply place where schools boughts mops and such. You will love!! It's easy and fast. It's also very wide which covers so much area with one go.

    Congrats on the new home, many blessing for you and your family. About the hard ware you must get a water softener ASAP. You will be so happy! Your skin will be soft and so will the hair. Everything will be cleaner longer. For now, clean the shower doors (if any) and after they are clean put Rain X on the glass and it will help the hard water stain come out. Hard water will ruin your pipes so do not hesitate and bite the bullet and in the long road you will save thousands. Good luck🍁🍂🍂

    Think about getting an industrial size sweeper/mop from a janitors supply. The kind they use in hospitals or schools. A 36” or 40” wide pad for dust mopping (sweep to one area then dustpan up) and you can make your own washable wet mop pads or just wring out a towel and use that. It makes large expanses go so much faster than using a conventional spin mop with a small head.

Maybe a weak vinegar/ water solution will help and vinegar will certainly help with washing your dishes in the hard water. I guess that's a by the by problem considering the amazing home you now live in. I'm not surprised you host so much. For the hard water on the dishes, put about 1/2 c. of white vinegar in the rinse water (you probably have a rinse dispenser). It will help, if not totally take care of the white film. The chickens will love those pumpkins when the kids are through enjoying them.

    I have had hard water. A water softener is a big chore, my in laws have one and regularly fill it with salt and a lot of maintenance. The good news would be there is less tearing up of your skin, appliances and hardware like faucets. I had good luck with lemi shine(I think it's literally just citric acid) in the dishwasher with the expensive dish pods(this was in our house without a softener and extremely hard water). I also do vinegar in the rinse cycle and soak the filter in vinegar as well. If you have any Norwex window cloths with maybe a vinegar spray for your fridge? I feel like vinegar is just the answer to everything, I love it lol😂
