As well as being a great vocal coach, Jeff Rolka is a superb pianist. He has a totally sure feel for the keys, creating mellifluous legatos, incisive staccatos or whatever mood is appropriate. His instrument is always well-miced to produce a rich wash of resonant tone that is a pleasure to sing to.
I use bits and pieces of your warm-ups on my own but always have to come back here to regain my patience lol. I've played piano forever but it is also nice to just focus 100% on voice when warming up.
My singing teacher introduces me to your warm up videos. I'm really glad she did - never looked back. Have some of them on my iPod and practice regularly in the car. Thanks for providing them.
i guess Im randomly asking but does anybody know a tool to log back into an Instagram account? I somehow lost my password. I would love any assistance you can offer me!
@Jordy Santiago i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and Im in the hacking process now. I see it takes quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
Thanks for these excellent videos, Jeff! Really helpful. I’m a 75 YO active singer - all my life, really - and am having the expected wider and slower vibrato creep in as I’ve aged. What can I do to ameliorate this? Thanks.
This warm up has helped me the most out of everything. I do this almost every day and it gets easier and easier! Could you make a warm up just like this, but the nasal sounds like Ma and Nah?
Why do we never do exercises with the most difficult soft vowels? I get the most trouble from ih as in sit, aa as in cat, and eh is in fetch. Along with the traditionally difficult oo as on scoop and ee as in flee. Also I have trouble with consonants when singing high pitched lines, I tense up a lot, what should I do as exercises to work on this? I've been doing your warmups but substituting in these problem vowels and adding random consonants to the higher notes to practice. Is this good? Is there something else I could do?
Absolutely sub in the vowels you need for your repertoire! Also this: ruclips.net/p/PL2mQP7sE6PHg7Um6BQ4cjCY964Qfr0C8_ I need to do more of these for sure! And: ruclips.net/video/fPWfJa0h1lI/видео.html Thank you for a great comment! Jeff
