Thunder Force V has an awesome soundtrack, it often is overlooked compared to its prequels in this regard.

    The series needs a comeback.
I hold hope because Super Mario RPG is getting a remake.

Maybe in another Sega Ages Expo. They'll have to put them all in a collection and that includes every port. After they see that more people are showing interest, then it might become relevant again. I honestly see the future thunder force becoming a hybrid horizontal shmup that includes overhead and VR flight sim style levels like ace combat. The flight Sim levels will likely rake in a majority of the new audience.

I agree. But we need a Thunder Force VII. An all-new title.

I learned how to beat TF4 on maniac by watching your playthrough and the one done by shmul master.

I heard Hyakutaro was angry on twitter because they didn't let him work on Thunder Force 6. He and I dislike the way the game turned out overall from a design standpoint. Levels are too short, weapons are too powerful, the player isn't encouraged to acquire their weapons because they're equipped from the start of the game. Also there are too many references to previous games. I'm not saying i don't like references and homages but these are usually included in games as subtle easter eggs or unlockables like the styx in thunder force gold pack 2. If there are too many, they become obvious and make the game unoriginal. Most of the boss themes are good besides the Orn Emperor. Other than the balance issues, the game still holds up very well on modern graphics cards by nvidia

We can say that it is closer to a remake than to a true sequel. Disappointment...

6's music was way too subdued and mello for a Thunderforce game. Its like someone from the Darius team worked on it. If fact, I believe someone from that team was on the project. I didn't hate 6, but it wasn't the sequel we should've gotten on the Dreamcast. I wish they'd make the whole series available on Steam. V in particular needs a remaster with modern graphics. Just don't touch the soundtrack!

@@vram1974 : I think that a sequel to Thunder Force (7) would in my humble opinion be produced on an old console: Megadrive or Saturn or even Dreamcast. But it would be logical (for economic reasons) to adapt it to recent consoles. In any case, the graphic style should not be modern, just pixel art and the soundtrack should be by Hyakutarou Tsukumo, Tomomi Ootani or Toshiharu Yamanishi.

@@tecnosofttechnosoft3426 thunder force V was great on the PlayStation/Saturn but of all the TF games, it's gfx did not age well as they used textured polygons and 3D tech was still in its infancy back then. If TFV was remade today, they could clean up the gfx quite a bit. Dreamcast hardware could make it look spectacular. That said, if you want to limit sales and just make an overpriced collector's item, then by all means, only make it for old hardware. I'd love TF remakes or a new entry, but I'm not sourcing old hardware or paying $300-$500 for a PS5/Xbox Series to play it. If it's not released on PC, then no sale from me. It's pretty lazy not to release on PC if you're releasing on modern console. They're all x86 based hardware
