    It would be interesting to know if your parents named you after the character, Holly Martins, from the classic movie, The Third Man.
    I think you will find that Fiji is easily as good cruising as French Polynesia, once you get out and around the Islands. Clearest water you will ever see..........................

    This old sailor watched this episode whimpering. I always wanted to go to Fuji, but never did. I stumbled onto your videos and have watched many of them. All my sailing days were on steam ships in the boiler rooms, but I always dreamed of sailing. Maybe next life. :)

    You've been Captain since you left Maine, and single handed a 26ft boat down to and across the Caribbean, through the Canal and across most of the Pacific.
    Fact that they didn't have a form for female Captain's in Fiji just tells you how rare a talent you have. Look forward to seeing Fiji.

    Yes, you are a fine Captain and Skipper Holly . Seeing you sailing “Gecko” in that lively sea state making land fall and looking so relaxed, composed and in tune with the boats motion was great.     I'm so curious how much all of the fees added up to. Fiji is beautiful and very popular so I've always imagined it is somewhat expensive.

    Congratulations CAPTAIN HOLLY MARTIN to you and your FANTASTIC BOAT for another, what looked like a sleep deprived sail. 5.5 Knotts doubled Reef, definitely intense. Here is a quote for a T shirt.
    "A PERSON WHO GOES TO SEA FOR PLEASURE, WOULD GO TO HELL FOR A PASS TIME ".
    How cool, all women involved in the clearing in procedure. As for the food, . It makes sense if it never reaches land, it shouldn't be an issue. But then everyone cannot be trusted with an honor system.

      I've never had an issue with dry land, as much as I've sometimes wanted to just for the experience

    What a cool experience! And thank you for the shots of the market. I imagine it must sometimes feel very awkward to film in situations like that and I appreciate that you push through to share the experience as thoroughly as possible. You’re a great story-teller.

      @@WindHippieSailing I loved all the town scenes, when I was there in 89' every thing in the market was arranged in 50 cent piles. Everything was 50 cents including a pineapple!

    I am also a full time cruiser. 70 and a retired engineer, familiar with pulling things apart and rebuilding them. The same is true for most full time cruisers. You are the real deal, Holly!

    What do you think the biggest waves you been thru with that boat you have now. How big were the waves coming into Fiji for reference.

    Captain Holly ! Certainly no hyperbole. You're very much an accomplished and tested Captain. I just found you and subscribed to your videos. I will go back and watch from the beginning. I can only imagine the smell in the coconut oil processing company. Surely to bought some for cooking - it's delicious !. Fair winds and be safe.

    I believe that cava is the traditional gift to the village chief when you are visiting Fiji outer islands .
    I think you can get it in gift style packs / bundles .
    If you liked French Polynesia , then you will love Fiji .

    Really enjoy your videos. Just stumbled upon you not long ago. When I was maybe 18 or so, I had a friend who lived on an island nearby in the Puget Sound in Washington. His family had two sailboats and I once went out with just him and I for a few days while his parents followed us in the larger sail boat. It was an awesome memory and has always been something I wanted to do again, even though its been over a decade.

    That was fun. I love the sound of your little “Coffee Pot” motor. The anchorage looks nicely tropical, and place to aim for later. I hope you get to do a check in at Lord Howe Island some time in the future. I’ve never seen the whole Copra process, but as a kid I played in the Copra sheds near the wharf in Port Moresby. Memories.
