I kept trying to watch Star Wars but never had a clue what was going on, ever. These entire-series-stories-explained are awesome! I had always thought Natalie Portman was Leia. But.. Okay... So to sum it up, Star Wars is about governmenty-battles for domination and destruction, good guys, evil guys, sometimes not knowing which team a person is choosing, resisting temptation, rescues from friends, sacrifices, surprising origins, destinies, monsters, sword fights, lasers, explosions in space, women with strength, men with heart, robots, slugs, and apocalypse-clothing with creepy helmets on top. Got it. I think.

Sometimes I’m amazed this franchise isn’t completely impossible to follow, given how many movies, shows, comics, and books there were, and with the timeline being pieced together seemingly at random. This goes for both the old and new canons, btw.
Man, what a well done video. The story is only as long as it needs to be, and the explanation is easy and makes sense. Man, every time I see a looper video like this im reminded of how good some of their videos are.

Where were he/what was he doing? 8: The story behind knights of ren?
1. they confirmed it was finn saying he is force sensitive to a mild degree 2. we dont know. plot cause JJ was like fuck...snoke is dead 3. yes for a year I think 4. ???? cause he is 5. Since the jedi temple guards. Rey having yellow means nothing and just for toys. they'll damage control it eventually in a book or some crap 6. Jannah was rumored to be Landos daughter which is what they hinted at but kind of choppy with the edits. could of been but got cut out 7. they dont care about the old legacy characters and threw him in last second for fan service. surprised they didnt kill him lol 8. But I understand your opinion and respect it.
No, the moral of this story is don't harass and shame and shit on the creator of this franchise so badly that he sells out to the major corp that takes it and makes it something that you STILL WON'T be happy with!
9 movies spanning 42 years are my favorite, regardless of the politics and the creativity vibrant or lacking!)+ everybody pretty much understands the story and if you don't then officially you are not just a fan!)+ Like the original hero beautifully states, "You're not just fans you truly are family in every single way." Looper, we're grateful for your in depth analysis of THE Saga,;) but it still is an ongoing Journey not so much of this particular Galaxy but of the fandom that has and still does keep it alive!) Light arising in the middle, darkness descending in the beginning, and balance potentially popping off in the end!-)+ we are the future and the quality truly is greater along with the extraordinary message tagging along!)+
Episodes 1 - 6 are about a Palpatine seducing Skywalkers to the darkside. Episodes 7 - 9 are about the Skywalkers training a Palpatine to be a Jedi. I haven't heard one of you RUclipsrs say that yet! They are all good.
These last three have us a cool new light saber and Tie variant...thats about it really .. the new Xwings were cool too. Yodas force ghost talking to Luke after burning all trace of these movies I mean the Jedi tombs of knowledge also good.
The story from start to finish is epic. The ending for me is when Vader threw the emperor over the rails and into the death Star chasm. His whole story arc as the chosen one complete and perfectly tied with a bow. Luke gets to see for a brief moment that his father was actually a good person deep down and only loved too harshly his loved ones. He found the truth. Then the new movies about the children I feel undo the chosen one to bring balance to the force. Instead we have an incoherent follow through and though the last movie was just an action flick off the rails it failed to connect the dots completely. Even here in this summary emperor palpatin is back with no explanation that he was a clone all along... or was it that he survived the fall, then exploding into force energy reconstructed himself and then made it to a shuttle after not being able to walk because it seems he needed this Huge machine that he was dangling from and made it off the Death Star before it exploded? Can anyone clarify this part? And also note that when movies fail to clarify key details and only provide basic information and never really touch on any of it through out the movie it’s not good... movie was an action feast but not coherent... was palpatine a clone in every instance? It’s the only way I can explain... if Snoke was just a pickle in a Jar full of pickles then why not just send another one? Or why not clone an army of said pickles? Weird...
He just said the dark side is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural so he somehow saved himself from death using the force in some way I guess it's better being more mysterious at least for the movie.
The decision to cut the runtime of Rise of Skywalker is for theatre screening time. Theatres make more money the quicker they can fill seats and cycle customers. Hopefully, they release an extended cut like Deadpool's extended cut. There is always a director's cut for all movies, not just Star Wars.
A giant plothole: how come Rey is Palpatine and at the same time, is Palpatine accepted canonically as Anakin's father (it was hinted in the comics)? Does accepting both those storylines make Skywalkers related to Palpatine, hence making also Rey and Ben distant relatives from the same old old ancestor? I'm confused.
No...why is this even an actual question anybody has? Even if old Palps used his Force mojo to poof a baby into Anakin's mom, that doesn't biologically then make him the father.
No one is Connecting the Dots here, in the story Palpatine tells Anakin about Plegius the Wise, HE, Palpatine, is the apprentice that killed his master! And it was HE, Palpatine, who learned how to create life. And the life that he created was Anakin Skywalker. If you remember, Anakin's mother said Anakin did not have a father, she just ended up pregnant somehow. Disney needs to make another Star Wars Trilogy about how Palpatine/Sidious killed his master and later created life inside of Shmi Skywalker.
Explained another way: the first 6 were the vision and creation of George Lucas. The recent 3 films made by Disney regected Lucas's proposed storyline and made up a load of nonsense instead.
What about 8 years before Episode I when Darth Plagueis impregnated Shmee using midichlorians? His goal- create the most powerful force being he can control from birth to do his bidding. Unfortunately his apprentice Darth Sidious learned of the boy's creation, killed his master, then formulated his plan to eventually rule the galaxy using the boy as his apprentice. Once Sidious/Palpatine learns Vader had a child, he immediately plans to replace Vader with the younger, stronger Luke as his apprentice. Sidious' plan goes perfectly until Luke, due to his undying faith in his father, chooses to die and let the rebellion die instead of joining Sidious. Luke's sacrifice redeems Anakin, who turns on his master and kills Sidious to save his son.
I hate that that's not even an insult, it's literally what happened. Disney wanted 3 new SW movies but had not planned what would happen from beginning to end. Instead, they filmed the first one and started making things up on the fly.
„STAR WARS X - THE BLACK WINDU“ (Not confirmed yet): Mace Windu returns decades after he fell, survived, got a new hand and lived in the shadows surviving order 66, and moved to the dark side by using his hatred against Palpatine and the whole Skywalker family to become the most powerful black Sithlord and gathering an army of black fighters called „THE BLACK ORDER“.
DejaVoodooDoll maybe you should watch the films again. Super Rey was born The Bestest Jedi Ever in the Galaxy without so much as a days training. Canon was broken with the last three films and the original was completely disregarded. The most recent dumpster fire The Rise of Palpatine looks like a first attempt at making a film: very poorly written (if there was a plot) and very poorly executed. Not exactly a shining example of Star Wars Mythology. However if you want to learn what a useless MacGuffin in, TROP is the film to watch! I have spoken.
Good video. I would have added Maul’s defeat, Ahsoka leaving the order ,Vader telling Luke he is his father and Snoke being Sidious clone puppet .All important plot points to the overall saga.
Wouldn’t it be Sheev Palpatine secretly Darth Sidious and not the other way around? It’s no secret Sheev Palpatine is a politician but a secret that he is a Sith
Glad how Rose Tico's role in the saga was emphasized especially her taking the lead in the failed wild goose hunt to find a codebreaker for no reason and teach the audience of the evils of child labor, gambling and thoroughbred racing. Not to mention she also killed Luke by proxy by blocking Finn's kamikaze run, necessitating Luke's life draining mobile holo emitter move.
15:33 you got it wrong. It’s really Kylo nearly killed ray then got distracted and then ray nearly killed him but no kylo would of killed her if hi mom didn’t intervene
I wasn't happy about the ending of the Skywalker family with Leia and Luke having no legacy. Rey doesn't count since she's not a legitimate descendant.
@@nicky29031977 True, but then again films in general have been going downhill for decades. Also, there is a point in life when you outgrow movies altogether, you enjoy them still, to some extent, but they no longer hold any importance in your life. And with that, things no longer matter. If one truly matures as a human being, other things become your priority. I think also part of the politics of much of Hollywood and of the left and of globalists in general, is against family and family values. Disney is part of that world, and they definitely won't be promoting healthy family structures and people realistically overcoming their life challenges. Much more important to get a useless lesbian kiss in before the saga ends, some purple hair, and about a trillion other useless and rather stupid things. You know, even before George sold Lucasfilm, throughout the 2000's I had the thought that if he ever did do such a thing, if Hollywood got their hands on Star Wars, that they would corrupt it through and through. Precisely that occurred. Everything depends on the kind of soul behind the character and the type of character behind the camera.
@@lovesandservesjesuschrist6752 I just hope they make new SW films independent of the Skywalker story. Maybe standalone films regarding R2 D2's backstory, his construction and pre-phantom menace days, and also a trilogy which tells the story of the Old Republics formation and how the jedi Knights started off...what do you think?
@@nicky29031977 When I was in my teens and early 20s I would have jumped out of my skin and shouted: YEESSSS! Now at 37, there are a million more important things in life than films, even a saga I once literally wanted to be a part of. I know the enthusiasm, believe me, I've got a lot of collectibles. But at some point in life, if you don't tear away, either gradually or intentionally on the spot, from childish things, you remain a child. Even if a movie series contains some useful wisdom for real life, it is only a mirror of real life, where real wisdom resides. Therefore to remain looking at the mirror, is to remain distracted from living - fully. The world doesn't need adult children, unless you wanna get eaten alive by predators. The other thing is, Western society is over-saturated with entertainment and distraction of every kind, for every type of person. These are signs of the deterioration and corruption of a society. In other words, we are living in the midst of what the prequel trilogy showed, but as always real life is far more ugly, complex, and orders of magnitude more intricate. If there is one useful thing that Star Wars as a whole should do for people, is not to bind them to itself, making one a slave to a fictional franchise. But to launch them into the real world, where real issues exist. After all, the issues George raised in the original and the prequel trilogy resonate with us humans only because they are timeless issues that humankind has faced for thousands of years. Some people learn their lessons and overcome their evil, others succumb. The issues are what matter, but if one gets stuck in the fictional universe of the story, one has entirely missed the point of George's work.... one has missed the point of their own life. Unfortunately Star Wars has never really launched people into real world, per se, it has always tried to keep them bound to itself, so that they live in its fictional universe. And many who have done this, have remained children, even in adulthood, even having had children of their own. And that is a tragedy. Of course not everyone is like this, but many have become so, significantly enough to recognize entertainment of this type for the negative effect it causes. "Overcoming evil" is definitely a lesson that should not be learned from the Disney trilogy - the writers of it did not understand the human mind, heart, and spirit, it's an empty and useless bit of Hollywood, what they do best nowadays. Because the property of Star Wars is now in the hands of Disney, it most likely remains in the hands of those who do not understand the world and its ageless issues as well as George did. That's what made Star Wars larger than life and relevant, it was both timeless and contemporary. That means that no matter how many more movies come out, it is highly likely that they will be empty shells, paling in comparison to the original idea of what "Star Wars" was all about, behind all the technology and mythmaking. They might invite better writers and improve the basics of film, outside of special effects, and they might even make something rather likeable, but you need to go to that extra gear if you want timeless - you yourself need to understand in your soul, the battle between good and evil in our world and where that is heading, in order to imbue your fictional story with something that is actually relevant to people, and relevant here means: something that aids them, that helps them see through the fog, that inspires them, that gives them hope, that gives them faith... That's what a A New Hope did in '77 ;) That movie succeeded because it was a mirror of our own world. If one gets stuck in creating endless story, irrelevant to our real world, without addressing our own reality, one creates forgettable fantasy movies, which are aplenty. Yet this art of addressing out own reality is itself extremely difficult to deal with, as we saw with he Last Jedi fiasco. It can't be overtly contemporary, because that destroys timelessness. That means that it requires a very fine balancing act, a writer and director who understand our own real world in a way that is ahead of most of the population - only then can you say something that others will listen to and want to listen to. Star Wars succeeded because it brought so many elements from real life into a fantasy world, and made us see ourselves anew, by using all those elements to clarify our own world's struggles. In other words: something that helps you is appreciated at a very deep level within, but movies who just create drama for their own sake, to further their own fictional story - they usually die and are forgotten. That's the reason why the Disney trilogy is completely irrelevant, the real story was told in 1-6. And that story is the triumph of good over evil within a person and within a society, that's a story that all humans want to hear repeated, one cannot tire of it. The Disney trilogy however completely ignored that, and merely continued with the lives of the characters as if in a soapy - when you do that, no one cares, even if you have a thing or two to say. What it shows is that you don't get it, you don't get life, you don't get humanity, you don't get this world. The one funny bit about all this, is that I wrote this wearing my one Star Wars bit of clothing, the Rogue One poster t-shirt. Of all days, aye! :D
When you take into account that Palatine was already living beyond the physical realm when Vader tried to kill him, the whole 1-9 story arc makes sense. He could only have been killed forever by his own bloodline, and a decendent of Skywalker. He was too powerful. He was the puppet master behind everything. When you get this, the sequels & prequels make a lot more sense. They work together. I think the real issue is that no one was paying attention to the prequels.
I bet you do that with many other aspects in your life when things don't turn out as you'd like. You might wanna see somebody professionally about that.

Great video! Do you take requests? SOmething that's confused me in the Prequels is where does Count Dooku fit in to the whole scheme? Does he know that Palpatine = Sidious? Was there any sincerity in his trying to recruit Obi-Wan to fight against the Sith? Why would he tell Obi-Wan that a sith was in control of the Senate? I can't really tell what his whole angle and motivation is there, and exactly how much he knew and how much he was in on it, and how did he fit into the grand plan, both from his perspective and from Palpatine's? Or was he just a pawn? So in short, "Count Dooku Finally Explained."
Well in TCW you can see that Count Dooku knows about order 66 and Palpatine being Sidious which also explains why he was so shocked when palpatine told Anakin to kill him in ROTS.

Man, what a well done video. The story is only as long as it needs to be, and the explanation is easy and makes sense. Man, every time I see a looper video like this im reminded of how good some of their videos are.
This video is missing A LOT of important info and got some things wrong but hey I found it entertaining so I can’t complain it was a nice quick recap. But one thing I have to say is hello where’s rebels??
I have so many questions...
1: What did Finn want to tell Rey?
2: How did Palpatine survive?
3: Was Leia a Jedi?
4: Why was Finn so force sensetive?
5: Since when did Yellow lighsabers exist?
6: Who was Jannah?
7: Why didn't Lando make a return in The Force Awakens or The Last Jedi? Where were he/what was he doing?
8: The story behind knights of ren?
1. they confirmed it was finn saying he is force sensitive to a mild degree
2. we dont know. plot cause JJ was like fuck...snoke is dead
3. yes for a year I think
4. ???? cause he is
5. Since the jedi temple guards. Rey having yellow means nothing and just for toys. they'll damage control it eventually in a book or some crap
6. Jannah was rumored to be Landos daughter which is what they hinted at but kind of choppy with the edits. could of been but got cut out
7. they dont care about the old legacy characters and threw him in last second for fan service. surprised they didnt kill him lol
8. Useless characters that looked cool. ie another phasma
Found the person who doesn't know much about star wars
Yellow lightsabers existed in the books, and games for years as well as other colors
Every time i watch this i am more impressed. It's like someone said make the most efficient video explaining the Star Wars universe as best as you can. So good and so many questions answered. 😊

Easy 7 films that tell a cohesive narrative 1 that's a standalone, and 1 that's a trainwreck trying to put everything together
@Timothy Bell To be fair, Disney left a lot of loose ends and unanswered questions so they can sell fans the Visual Dictionary book.

And the moral of the story is...
Never sell to Disney 😖
Assumption is the mother Of all fuck-ups everyone always hating on Disney 🙄 goodness these three movies weren’t bad at all they made over a billion dollars each if they didn’t sell it to Disney George was not making anymore all y’all so damn sensitive
Assumption is the mother Of all fuck-ups No the moral of the story is to plan out your trilogy not as you go along and have the directors coordinate. 😂 sorry I’m just trying to say Disney is perfectly capable of making good movies but they went in blind with the sequel trilogy. But I understand your opinion and respect it.
No, the moral of this story is don't harass and shame and shit on the creator of this franchise so badly that he sells out to the major corp that takes it and makes it something that you STILL WON'T be happy with!

9 movies spanning 42 years are my favorite, regardless of the politics and the creativity vibrant or lacking!)+ everybody pretty much understands the story and if you don't then officially you are not just a fan!)+ Like the original hero beautifully states, "You're not just fans you truly are family in every single way." Looper, we're grateful for your in depth analysis of THE Saga,;) but it still is an ongoing Journey not so much of this particular Galaxy but of the fandom that has and still does keep it alive!) 16:02 LMAO “it’s like poetry, it sorta rhymes”
Episodes 1 - 6 are about a Palpatine seducing Skywalkers to the darkside. Episodes 7 - 9 are about the Skywalkers training a Palpatine to be a Jedi. I haven't heard one of you RUclipsrs say that yet! They are all good.
Congrats bro for discovering this. You now cease to be a loser.
They rhyme with each other.
These last three have us a cool new light saber and Tie variant...thats about it really .. the new Xwings were cool too. Yodas force ghost talking to Luke after burning all trace of these movies I mean the Jedi tombs of knowledge also good.
@ That's because Rey already had all the Jedi books in her possession
We mourn for what should have been but never came to be. We are left with a pathetic end to what started as a great story.
I'm so happy that we're done with the Skywalker series. Finally.
Have always wondered what this movie is about.
The decision to cut the runtime of Rise of Skywalker is for theatre screening time. Theatres make more money the quicker they can fill seats and cycle customers. Hopefully, they release an extended cut like Deadpool's extended cut. There is always a director's cut for all movies, not just Star Wars.
You missed Star Wars Rebels.
Alexander Jones At least they got clone wars
Alexander Jones I do
I think they need a movie with real actors regarding all animated movies
Bruce van de Ven So voice actors aren’t real actors?😭
Indeed, Rebels is a great show and bridges the gap between Episodes III and IV quite nicely.
If we just ended the story at 11: 30, we could consider this a big win and a great story.
I stopped at the rise of Skywalker part i didnt see it yet.. But nice vid u explained everything
Newhope, returnofthejedi, and Rouge one are my faves
0:03 Reys lightsaber mistake
The story was already explained with Episodes 1-6. The Disney trilogy is just a jumbled mess with no plan.
A-Raiden Gorge planned 9 episodes when he was young
Adrian Akkari he actually planned 12 I believe
I hate that that's not even an insult, it's literally what happened. Disney wanted 3 new SW movies but had not planned what would happen from beginning to end. Instead, they filmed the first one and started making things up on the fly.
@@hermessoza3464 Yup

„STAR WARS X - THE BLACK WINDU“ (Not confirmed yet):
Mace Windu returns decades after he fell, survived, got a new hand and lived in the shadows surviving order 66, and moved to the dark side by using his hatred against Palpatine and the whole Skywalker family to become the most powerful black Sithlord and gathering an army of black fighters called „THE BLACK ORDER“.

I wasn't happy about the ending of the Skywalker family with Leia and Luke having no legacy. Rey doesn't count since she's not a legitimate descendant.
Simple Solution: There is no such thing as Episode 7 to 9, there is only the EU.
@@lovesandservesjesuschrist6752 Still, it's only what people see on screen that they really remember! Even S Spielberg wasn't happy about these films.
That's what a A New Hope did in '77 ;)
That movie succeeded because it was a mirror of our own world.
I think the real issue is that no one was paying attention to the prequels.
obi wan didn’t die, he became one with the force. this video missed so many small yet important details and got some things straight out wrong.

Still don’t understand why didn’t r2d2 and obiwan didn’t recognize each other
