I love that. I'm so sorry for your loss. I lost my mother as well about a year and a half ago. Though this wasn't in her repitior, there are songs that I listen to to feel connected with my mom. I hope that life is going good for you.

I'm with you brother. When I was explaining the meaning of the movie to my kids I started crying. The Nothing is adulthood trying to wipe out childhood. Imaginations from the Otherside by Blind Guardian is about the same thing. Adulthood creeps in trying to wipe out our childhood, making us forget the fairy tales, the adventures of Tom Sawyer, Robinson Crusoe, Bilbo and Frodo, King Arthur. I refuse to let it wipe out my memory, imagination.

I loved this song in "The Neverending Story" - a sad but heartwarming tale when a bereaved only child, whose mother passed away immerses himself in a fantasy world around a magical book in this true 80s classic. Not sure if the later stuff measures up, but will check it out.

Born in ‘78, I’ve watched that movie since I was a kid in the 80’s. Confession, I’ve had this song I my MP3 player for years. I don’t care if that’s lame. The 80’s ruled and Stranger Things make me miss it more.
I was not ready for that movie, the nothing the swamp of sadness, artex dying, destroyed me as a kid. As an adult i understand it more. The emptiness the lost of hope. When people have no hope they are easier to control, very deep. Is it about depression? And we have to become our on little warriors to fight it from taking over? Is it about people that use fear to control us? Or is it just a very interesting movie about a fantasy world that gets destroyed n then wished back into existence?
The kid who starred in the sequel which I also loved, Jonathan Brandis, committed suicide due to depression. Leaves a lasting pain in my heart when I watch the movies and sometimes when I listen to the theme song.
"The NeverEnding Story" is one of my favorite movies of all time. Hearing this song always reminds me how much I love that movie. I have nothing against those who know the song from "Stranger Things". It's a great song either way; who cares where people know it from?

Born in ‘78, I’ve watched that movie since I was a kid in the 80’s. Confession, I’ve had this song I my MP3 player for years. I don’t care if that’s lame. The 80’s ruled and Stranger Things make me miss it more.
I was not ready for that movie, the nothing the swamp of sadness, artex dying, destroyed me as a kid. As an adult i understand it more. The emptiness the lost of hope. When people have no hope they are easier to control, very deep. Is it about depression? And we have to become our on little warriors to fight it from taking over? Is it about people that use fear to control us? Or is it just a very interesting movie about a fantasy world that gets destroyed n then wished back into existence?
