@@uzumaki7108 Labels are pretty basic providing you can create the query. The only thing you can practice is creating custom labels. Practice making your own label dimmensions and number of columns.

the question paper specifically asks you to use video and source tags to add the video, so embed will not be included in the marksheet. Examiners will be looking for the video tag.

Hello sir, I did really well in the Paper 2 exam today because of your videos. You helped me a lot. But I have one question. In the question where it says to select text from a certain subheading to a certain paragraph and make it into 2 columns, I accidentally didn't include a full stop of the last paragraph and deleted the full stop accidentally, so the last paragraph doesn't end with a full stop. Is this fine, or will I lose a mark?
Well done!!! As for your question i dont think the examiner is going to notice the full stop. They are trained to mark positively so they will take a glance at the starting and ending words, so you should be ok. Please let me know what was in the paper. Did it include creating a chart in Excel, did it have Forms or Labels in the database? Well done once again, proud of you as you must have put in a lot of effort to prepare.
@@paphitisnThank you so much sir. The Paper was very similar to the 2023 Oct/Nov paper. The one thing that was different in the Word Document Production task was instead of importing an image and placing it in a paragraph, we had to insert our own cloud shape with the text "Cloud Gaming" With a 5 cm width. The databases part did not include forms or labels, but we just had to import 3 tables, create relationships between the tables, add new values to the table and create 2 reports. In the presentations part, we just had to create a vertical bar chart in Excel and place it in one of the slides, and we also had to edit a word to make it a link to a different document. Other than that everything was similar.
The database was pretty easy, just the two reports(the entire paper was basically a mirror of this one that you solved). There was a chart in excel but we had to paste it in the presentation. One of my database came in two pages whereas the question specified 1 page. I think I'll lose a mark there, and I alligned a shape wrong in word, so a mark there as well. In the chart, it said to only include age categories, so I omitted the total bar as well, hope that's correct. And there was a list in word which was split over two columns so I created some space for it to move to the next column and used widow/orphan control which also created some space to eliminate the widow. Will that cost me a mark for consistent spacing?@@paphitisn
@@mathskafunda4383 for the spacing it should not be an issue as it is not really spacing but ensuring you do not have split lists. as for the chart, yes removing the total would be correct if it did not ask to include the total. Sounds like you did a good job. well done.

At 35:36 when i apply conditiinal formating you will see that rank has some cells highlited meaning they are duplicates, therfore can not be used as a primary key. The only column with no highlighted cells is game code.

Sans Serif is not a font. It is any font that does not have serifs. Serifs are the little ticks on the letters. Compare Times New Roman and Aerial. You will see Times New Roman letters have little ticks. These are serifs. Any font with this ticks are Serif fonts. Fonts without these serfs are Sans Serif Fonts. Sans in French means Without and the ticks are known as Serif so Sans Serif. The 2 fonts to use int he exam (only because it is what is used in the marksheets) is Times New Roman for Serif and Arial for Sans Serif.

I had a question - at 1:23:30 why did you prefer just using a textbox over using the UI's header and footer insert? I just thought that since the qp asked for a "header", we'd have to do it from that way only. @paphitisn
I have found the UI to be problematic at times so i prefer test box. Plus it is a consistent way to add any new info. As for the Exam there is no right and wrong way, as long as the print out looks like it is supposed to and any evidence you need to provide is correct then you are good. Remember, this is not a Microsoft exam so you can use any presentation software to take the exam so the exam board cannot require you to use features of PowerPoint.

That is an orphan and i should have dealt with it. Well done for spotting it. This is exactly why you should check the printouts. It is difficult to identify small things like this from a screen which you scroll up and down.

@@chrissequeira5018 I am glad it went well. if they asked for a cloud then you could have used Insert - Shape and choose the cloud image from the basic images. You dont have to for the exam but it is always good to have it enabled. If you know what it does then it is quite useful when designing databases. You do not need to know what it is for the exam but if you want i can explain it to you.

This happens when you increase the size of the report in design view by clicking on the edge of the report and dragging it to the right. Students do this to have more space so that it is easier to make all the fields fit. First dont do that. Second, if you get that message print anyway. If your printout is OK and everything is displayed without any data being cut off then it is ok. Leave it as the examiner will only get the printout. If data is being cut off or it does not print the columns on one page wide then you will need to modify the report in design view to make the report narrower or do the report again and do not change the width of the report.
I just gave the 2024 may June variant one papers and they told us to columnar database with a group, if possible can you make a video on it so I can assure my marks
Adding a sorting in the report wizard actually scrambles the location of the fields so they won't be in the right order. Alternatively, you can add a sorting in the report design menu while you're in design view. Also, editing the size of the fields of the report while in layout view is much easier than design view.
i agree with you. the report wizard does scramble the order. And, yes the sort in design will avoid this issue. The reason i teach it this way is because it forces my students to check the order and make sure that everything is in the correct order. if they get too comfortable with it done automatically for them they will not forget to check. This way it is a process they have to do every time. I may change my tactics though.

Do you mean 1 page wide or 1 page? Please note that i made a mistake which was highlighted by some of the viewers in the comments. For the Rank the question stated 200 or less so i should have used =200 so this would effect the number of results. This might be what is different in your report.
A couple of questions: 1-Will the examiner mark my work based on the files/documents saved or my printouts? 2-Where do I save my resultant files/the edited ones? In the same document of my given source files? 3-Are we allowed watches to the exam hall (of course only displaying time)? 4- In terms of paper 2, Should I complete the tasks in their relative order or should I start with the one I think is easiest for me?
1 -Examiners only mark form the printouts. No electronic files are sent. 2 -Best to save in the same area as the source files. You can make a copy of the source files elsewhere incase you need them as a backup. 3 -there should be a clock or a projected time in the hall. I do not allow any watches or other electronic devices. Depends on the exam center. Digital or smart watches are not allowed. 4 -If you are comfortable with all the components then do them in the correct order as it will be easier for you to track what you have completed. I do suggest good time management. I don't really suggest doing things in a random order.

I had a question - at 1:23:30 why did you prefer just using a textbox over using the UI's header and footer insert? I just thought that since the qp asked for a "header", we'd have to do it from that way only. @paphitisn
I have found the UI to be problematic at times so i prefer test box. Plus it is a consistent way to add any new info. As for the Exam there is no right and wrong way, as long as the print out looks like it is supposed to and any evidence you need to provide is correct then you are good. Remember, this is not a Microsoft exam so you can use any presentation software to take the exam so the exam board cannot require you to use features of PowerPoint.

That is an orphan and i should have dealt with it. Well done for spotting it. This is exactly why you should check the printouts. It is difficult to identify small things like this from a screen which you scroll up and down.
For the list style, you forgot to make it italic, and do we have to remove the hanging indent, since it was not specified in question paper ?Thanks

There was alot of reports and the only thing that was kind of new was a question in word which told us to draw a shape(cloud), align, text wrap and write something in it
@@chrissequeira5018 I am glad it went well. if they asked for a cloud then you could have used Insert - Shape and choose the cloud image from the basic images. If you drew one then that is fine also, providing you put the correct dimensions and added the text inside and formatting. Well done. Now to prepare for Paper 3

You dont have to for the exam but it is always good to have it enabled. If you know what it does then it is quite useful when designing databases. You do not need to know what it is for the exam but if you want i can explain it to you.

It simply means your column is too narrow and cannot display the whole number. Make the column wider and you will see the numbers

what do we do if we get an error that the report is too big for the paper or something like that. Its too wide.
This happens when you increase the size of the report in design view by clicking on the edge of the report and dragging it to the right. Students do this to have more space so that it is easier to make all the fields fit. First dont do that. Second, if you get that message print anyway. If your printout is OK and everything is displayed without any data being cut off then it is ok. Leave it as the examiner will only get the printout. If data is being cut off or it does not print the columns on one page wide then you will need to modify the report in design view to make the report narrower or do the report again and do not change the width of the report.

Adding a sorting in the report wizard actually scrambles the location of the fields so they won't be in the right order. Alternatively, you can add a sorting in the report design menu while you're in design view. Also, editing the size of the fields of the report while in layout view is much easier than design view.
i agree with you. the report wizard does scramble the order. And, yes the sort in design will avoid this issue. The reason i teach it this way is because it forces my students to check the order and make sure that everything is in the correct order. if they get too comfortable with it done automatically for them they will not forget to check. This way it is a process they have to do every time. I may change my tactics though.

Do you mean 1 page wide or 1 page? Please note that i made a mistake which was highlighted by some of the viewers in the comments. For the Rank the question stated 200 or less so i should have used =200
so this would effect the number of results. This might be what is different in your report.
A couple of questions:
1-Will the examiner mark my work based on the files/documents saved or my printouts?
2-Where do I save my resultant files/the edited ones? In the same document of my given source files?
3-Are we allowed watches to the exam hall (of course only displaying time)?
4- In terms of paper 2, Should I complete the tasks in their relative order or should I start with the one I think is easiest for me?
1 -Examiners only mark form the printouts. No electronic files are sent.
2 -Best to save in the same area as the source files. You can make a copy of the source files elsewhere incase you need them as a backup.
3 -there should be a clock or a projected time in the hall. I do not allow any watches or other electronic devices. Depends on the exam center. Digital or smart watches are not allowed.
4 -If you are comfortable with all the components then do them in the correct order as it will be easier for you to track what you have completed. I do suggest good time management. I don't really suggest doing things in a random order.

If you make the field a primary key field it will not allow duplicates. You can if you want put no duplicates also.

if you want everything that starts with cyrus then it would be like cyrus*
For everything that ends with cyrus then it would look like
like*cyrus
Notice the * positions.

it is the new field generated at run time. It states that it is Price multiplied by 95 divided by 100. That part is the 5%
