What makes the songs are the creation/composition of it from scratch.. melody, instuments/beat etc. that takes talent. Look at how most sm popular songs cannot be performed live now that SM had beef with the creator.
It is true being a lyricists doesn't take as much as writing a melody but it is still something. And it's true, with lyrics it took me about 3 years before I got "good/great" compared to making music which probably takes a lot more years to master. (Probably 6 to 10)
