  • A live service on the Peebles town service. This service is in two parts, 90A & 90B, with two distinct separate parts of the town being serviced by each route. This is the 90B. The Optare Solo is normally (but not exclusively!) used on this service due to the confines of the streets/turns. The other half of the town will be in a following video. I hope you enjoy the slightly different view on this vid.

I like the way you feed the wheel through your hands. Some drivers cross their hands, drive with one hand resting on the ticket machine, etc. Your videos are a joy to watch.

Do you find it weird swapping between the two different types of buses? This one that has the axle in front of the driver and the other types that have the axle behind the drivers position? I always wondered if the driving style would be different i.e manoeuvring, road positioning etc etc

Hi, it’s something you soon get used to. A duty normally has multiple vehicle swaps!

Why does this bus have an Iveco steering wheel and not a Optare one?

Lots of conversation on this in an earlier vid. I suspect it is a replacement wheel 🤔

@@TravelswithBillybob It is yeah, the iveco steering wheels are almost identical to the optare ones so are often used as replacements on optare vehicles

when they were getting a replacement steering wheel for 11119 it was faster to get one off Iveco than wait for an official Optare one, id assume it was cheaper aswell.
