Larry is a really dear friend. We’ve sung together in a number of countries. When my first wife died. Stan Whitmire (the amazing pianist) happened to call to see how she was doing. When I told him that she had entered Heaven just minutes before, he called Larry. Larry was on tour in Lubbock, TX, we lived in SC then. He called me, and as we were finishing the call, he told me that as soon as we knew funeral arrangements to call him immediately. I asked him why, and he said “Because I will be there and sing for my girl one last time.” Indeed, he broke his tour, flew up, and with Stan Whitmire accompanying him, he sang Carol’s favorite - “The Holy City”, and then - using David Phelps’ track that he’d emailed to Larry - he sang “No More Night.” I only recount this story to say that these aren’t just world-class performers and Christians. They’re loyal friends.
