If you’re going to buy a house make sure you have investments in art and/or collectibles and the like that appreciates and increases in value over time. It’s a shame how often there is nothing inside the house of enough value to sell to offset changes. The things in the house should be as valuable as the house itself. I learned all about this from white friends after college and eventually sold a twenty plus year collection, retired early and moved to Mexico from NYC. And I was a renter..lol.
