A Virginia driver and police officer were nearly hit on the side of a highway when a BMW driven by a teenager spun out across the median and slammed into the car, coming within inches of killing the officer, authorities said. The 17-year-old driver of the BMW M3 was charged with reckless driving, Fairfax County Virginia police said.
The incident began Monday morning when the officer pulled over a gray BMW sedan on Fairfax County Parkway, about 25 miles west of Washington, D.C., Fairfax County, Virginia, police said.

I'm not trying to be funny, but DAMN!!! I have to say that he is the hardest cop I have ever seen. He ate that directly to the right side of his body. He didn't worry about himself!!! He immediately started helping the people first. Now, that is a selfless act of kindness. You can visibility see that he's hurt. This could have killed him, but he took care of the other people. Not all cop are heroes but this one here showed us he is.

No. He got up and then jumped over the railing and started jogging away. Then the video cuts. And when we come back, we don't know HOW much time has passed. But,(after jumping jogging and some extra amount of time) he's walking up to the victims car, he hasn't got his gloves on or called for medical or even reported the crash to dispatch yet. Anyway, why would he worry about himself? He wasn't injured by the car crash. Furthermore, his lazy cut-corners policing is what put him and the person he had detained in harms way, IN THE FIRST PLACE. So, yeah. If you bear some responsibility for the injuries that were caused AND (like brother @empdxo said) is your damned JOB that you get paid handsomely for, then HOP TO IT and serve the public for once. It's their tax dollars that put that careless cop in all those donuts he's been eating.

He didn't have a clue to have a total disregard... the kid totally screwed up but it wasn't because he disregarded the others lives. The cop should be thanking the angel that prevented the car from totally taking him out. It's scary on the highway ... I have to remind myself everyday that I drive to concentrate on the roadway and be vigilant of others as I encounter them on my way. I've lived long enough to know that but for the grace of God there go I... I've had moments where I was driving and couldn't remember how in the world I was now at the location I was at, tried to remember going through a light and making a turn... why, because I allowed my mind to drift to some other thought other than concentrating in my driving. It's not something I've had happen on any regular basis at all but for those few times that it's happened I'm grateful for muscle memory and scared all at the same time. I've learned to not be so judgmental because of the bone headed things I've done, with zero malicious intent, but could have resulted in horrific results... results doesn't automatically mean intent. I struck a deer recently at 70 mph... who had zero disregard for any of the safety of the drivers on the road that morning, he was merely trying to go from point A to point B... not realizing those fast approaching beams of light were going to take his life in a matter of seconds. I completely recall him stepping into the path of my car as I stuck him... and a second later my airbag deployed and the hood of my vehicle had flew up as his body destroyed my front end... scared to death I slammed on my brakes and was so thankful that no other cars were around me as I tried to keep steering straight. I was able to slow down and pull off the highway with my vehicle totaled out. I was concentrating as I drove to work that fateful morning at 2:30 AM but simply could not avoid him stepping out into my path. All that to say that I was paying attention yet could not alter physics but merely reinforce those laws are true. My intent was never to kill that poor deer let alone total my vehicle. Neither myself nor the deer were guilty of a disregard... sometimes things happen.

If he jumped that guardrail and the car flying at the one he stopped at a specific angle, it was going fast enough that it's possible the car could've pushed through it because it was going over 100mph. And even if it was safe for him to do that, he had to make a split second decision that 99.9% of us will never be in. So unless you've been in that situation you can't say that he didn't use is skills to avoid death. That's like a 30 second clip tops. That car flew at him in less that 5.
