How I agree, the man is quit modest and very nice. I stumbled upon him and his guitar player on my way to the seedy hotel after the show in the Paris suburb. He's a working man of rock, prolific and profound, he does not thrive on the same songs all over again. He has gained all of my admiration and fandom.
For all you confused by this.. White Lion disbanded years ago. Mike has been doing solo stuff like this since the mid 90's. Just good ol' fashioned rock n roll.. Like the story tellers rock n roll guys he grew up listening to. I love White Lion. Been a huge White Lion fan since the mid 80's, Vito is in my top 3 major influences on my own playing, but Vito and WL are no more...hoping someday they get back together at least for a reunion tour and possible album, but in the mean time Mike Tramp has dedicated his life to rock n roll. He tours every year, and puts out a lot of solo albums.. He is the modern day story teller rock n roll singer/writer. Much respect to Mike and the work he does. I live in a small town in Alaska. We rarely get live bands to perform up here even in Anchorage.. But guess who i went to see at a small dive in our little town.. That's right Mike Tramp.. He will play everywhere and anywhere. Love this guy...
As a White Lion fan,I think it's awesome to see Mike still continuing in music and doing his own thing,Well done Mike! Vito was/is awesome but you'd have a better chance of seeing Bigfoot caged up at the zoo than Vito back on stage with a guitar in his hands.

I don't want to knock this, but has Mike Tramp long abandoned heavy metal??? I grew up listening White Lion!!! I bought all the old albums brand new up to Mane Attraction. Then some home video split where they were saying "we'll never break up." I recall reading about fighting between Tramp and Bratta. I suppose D'Angelo went his seperate ways as Lomenzo played on... I really liked the old band, especially Bratta's awesome guitar....
+Marbas Ezurate C'mon, brother-- the dude is in his mid-50s and he can't scream like he did in the 80s. I give him a lot of credit for toning down the distortion and singing songs that are easier on his voice. What-- you want him to come out in tight spandex and pout his lips or something? He was never a great "metal" singer to begin with, and Mike has admitted that hitting those screeching high notes in the 80s were difficult and out of his normal singing voice. I'm fine with his newer "regular guy" image and strumming an acoustic guitar or whatever. It's quite unfortunate for Mike that he'll always be identified with White Lion and Vito-- but it beats working a nine to five job, right?
