      Why do players just become useless once they join Manchester United? Look at Wellbeck whom was written off by Manchester United long time ago being the one who game them hard time. That tells you the problem isn't those players but the club has a problem. If those Manchester United players were playing for another team they would be playing much better than they're today.

    I think Graham makes a really valid point. Rather than pull apart and concentrate on the negatives, which seems to be going on across the board. Look at the positives that one of the greatest players of all time, who’s in fantastic shape at 37, and think of how you can utilise it for the benefit of all concerned. If he can’t be the ideal role model for all those youngsters, no one can.

    • @DirtyOatmilk

    • @Gfresh844
      @Gfresh844 2 года назад +4

      To call him an ideal role model isn't the case. He's incredibly professional in the sense of how he trains and his desire to be a winner; but an exemplary professional also puts the team before his own needs, which he obviously doesn't. The fact he wants to leave at short notice shows he couldn't care less about the club. It was the same story with Juventus last season. Leaving the stadium early also isn't what a role model would do. Regardless of him being one of the greatest ever, a player who doesn't want to be there isn't someone you need in the dressing room.

    • @MarkBriers369
      @MarkBriers369 2 года назад +1

      @@Gfresh844 I think you make a fair point, although I do think the media drive this for obvious reasons. I’ve also seen some of the great leadership and team qualities he portrays, that don’t even get a mention. I’ve also heard some ex professionals talk and defend him with regards to his asking to leave. Souness defended Ronaldo when he explained that the previous manager wanted to get rid of him, so what do you expect him to do. If he’s not getting the backing, he remained professional last year, but with everything that’s going, he’d want some support and guarantees. Especially at 37, he’s not got the time to be messed about at his age.

      literally everyone wants to find a reason to bring ronaldo down, do you know how insane it is to score 20 goals still as a 37 year old in the best league in the world? I can only remember ronaldo and zlatan doing it. Ronaldo will easily score 30 in man city's team..

    • @factcheck5767
      @factcheck5767 2 года назад +1

      The equation is simple with very good team where 10 players there to run for him and create for him 10-12 chances on the plate every game, he can score upto 30 goals where another player playing on his position may score 18 goals. But the big catch is here For Ronaldo to get 30 goals he has to remain in front of goal area and pretty much allowed to sulk the whole game. He cannot, dribble. link up is poor, do not provide the key passes, not track back so team becomes vulnerable and concedes about (15 goals) more. Another player in place of him rotates more and does not have to channel through him another two three player can come in the center and attempts more that means additional 10 , 10 goals + 20 team goals will increase. The same team can operate fluidly. so the net with ronaldo = 30 -15 = +15 goals where as pressing and rotating strikers (18+10+10) = + 38 goals . that is a huge difference of +23 goal difference playing the team with decent strikers vs Pendu and also the midfield , CBs, goalee all require to change for Pendu to score those 30 goals which takes time and team goals does not improve. that was exactly what happed in Juve and Man U ( last season). So for the PR reason and for Pendu fangirls with all the setups for Pendu 30 goals of Pendu vs 18 goals = 12 goals difference was shown and make arguements for him but does not analyse the whole game what he brings and at what costs. that is why no big clubs with footballing projects want Pendu in their team.

    I agree with Simon. Ten Hag wants to build a team for the future, which is why it makes no sense to keep a 37 year old who wants to leave. I've no doubt CR will continue to get his fair share of goals if he stays. However, that comes at the cost of having someone with a huge ego, who could well be a negative influence when he doesn't get his way. The evidence of that was there to be seen just a week ago when he left the ground early after being subbed off. This isn't someone who puts the team before himself. United need to look at the bigger picture and invest in players they feel can take the club forward for years to come.

What a player and career he's had but lets not get it twisted here; he's not going to play for the badge, despite his mentor, Sir Alex, lingering around for his Portuguese son. Perhaps Ronny will put in a few shifts for the next couple of games for the club before the transfer deadline ends, but if he isn't sold by then you can bet we'll see him down tools again and probably disappear altogether. This will sum up another failed season for the red devils because it will be too late to find a prolific goal scoring replacement - not that a world class striker would even join this current Utd squad.

    I think Ronaldo is probably the best player ever, but to compete against two of the best teams in English history (as well as Arsenal, Spurs and Chelsea) on a weekly basis, an intense pressing game is required (barring some new paradigm shift). Ronaldo will not only fail to partake of that type of play, but will actively destabilise the efforts of his team mates and scupper the second phase plays (leaving his defence vulnerable).
    I honestly think that Real Madrid or PSG are the teams that would benefit most, as their leagues are essentially a stroll and one-off late-stage UCL games almost never play out with intense pressing (due to nerves/accumulated fatigue/inspiration).

    Ronaldo wants to move to a bigger club. Can’t blame him as he only has a couple of seasons left at the top.

      He signed a contract and no serious club wants him. Deal with it.

      @@lethalchocobo1886 yeah it’s a pity. He just didn’t realise how small United are now. Brighton > United 😆😆😆

    I agree with Souness that it is important to have experienced players in the dressing room, but if their attitude is negative, you are better off getting rid of them, IMO.

    I hear his argument for Ronaldo but there's a huge piece he's missing which is the unity within this squad before he arrived. Ole put his arm around all the players and made them feel loved and that team played with freedom. Players like Bruno were able to thrive because they didn't have to play with stipulations or expectations of passing the ball to Ronaldo, finding Ronaldo etc. Bruno created the most chances in the league last season, most of them half chances which shows he was forcing it compared to the previous Bruno who took responsibility and rifled at goal every chance he got.
    Juventus suffered and started a slow decline from the first season he arrived, they were slowly losing grip on their dominance in that league and we watched them freefall in slow motion. Players like Ronaldo and Messi are demanding, difference is that Messi is a playmaker and doesn't throw a tantrum when a teammate scores instead of him but Ronaldo will uproot the whole system if he's scoring less than people in his team. That's the angle you're not seeing, Madrid was built for Ronaldo and the players were happy to dim their light for him i.e Benzema was playing like an assistant rather than a striker. It worked for Madrid in CL but not for Juve or Man U which were teams with no reliance on one individual rather they played as a collective for and we're doing better than they did after Ronaldo joined.
