Became a fan early 80s while stationed in Cuba, my first duty out of basic training in the Navy!! Well what can you do. This band succumbed to the normal sickness that most bands get, which are internal conflicts. Paul left because he couldn't handle the touring/fame pressure & drug issues by 1984. Ali had artistic arguments with Mike. Frank stayed as long as he could until their new album flopped in 1986. This is Mike's band & intellectual property & after their VH1 experience, he decided to restart the Flock again, after trying to restart it before in 1985. "The show must go on" as the old saying goes. The original lineup usually came back together to do studio albums, such as in 2018-2021 in their late years. Mike kept the Flock spirit alive after nearly 5 decades now, or else we wouldn't be seeing recent videos of them today like in the video above, still playing & active as the same franchise. And Mike knows that this makes fans nostalgic, he knows this is good income. We have to appreciate this now because they likely won't be around anymore another 5 decades from now. 08/13/24
@@Jurgen-sx7om ... He was getting hoarse from the touring. Plus he's getting older now. He was never the best at singing, but you can't let that get in the way. I saw them last night at the Echo Lounge in Dallas. StrangeLove opened for them and they were entertaining too. I was a little disappointed with the sound control. Mike's keyboards were really drowned out. I was so tired of standing by the time those 3 signature songs came out at the end. I also did not know Mike Score was going to be the only original one performing.

Mike has really been the only one keeping the band going for as long as possible, after also making other new bands inbetween. This is his band after all. Their VH1 experience also relaxed some of their attitudes. The other 3 original guys pretty much stopped long ago, by the mid 1980's, for various reasons. But the originals have come together mainly to make new studio albums, such as during 2018-2021. Plus, Paul had been recovering from a stroke in 2020. We have to remember they are all senior citizens now & that there will come a time sooner than later when they will no longer be around & will go out into space like a flock of seagulls. We also have to remember they did not have a long successful career & only had a breakout in the early 1980's, that's it. It was really the fans that brought them back to life & is why Mike is playing above, even if he had to get a new lineup. I am pretty sure none of them even became multi-millionaires, especially for a band that got huge worldwide before. 08/14/24

The original lineup disbanded long ago, in the mid 1980's. Mike resurrected the band & band name, since this is his band anyway. But the original lineup had come together recently to make new albums. They just don't really want to tour as the originals. Age is one reason, since they are senior citizens now, not the band we see in our minds when we go back to 1982. But who knows, they as the originals may do a short tour for their last hurrah, since time is running out for them. 08/14/24

Became a fan early 80s while stationed in Cuba, my first duty out of basic training in the Navy!! Well what can you do. This band succumbed to the normal sickness that most bands get, which are internal conflicts. Paul left because he couldn't handle the touring/fame pressure & drug issues by 1984. Ali had artistic arguments with Mike. Frank stayed as long as he could until their new album flopped in 1986. This is Mike's band & intellectual property & after their VH1 experience, he decided to restart the Flock again, after trying to restart it before in 1985. "The show must go on" as the old saying goes. The original lineup usually came back together to do studio albums, such as in 2018-2021 in their late years. Mike kept the Flock spirit alive after nearly 5 decades now, or else we wouldn't be seeing recent videos of them today like in the video above, still playing & active as the same franchise. And Mike knows that this makes fans nostalgic, he knows this is good income. We have to appreciate this now because they likely won't be around anymore another 5 decades from now.

@@Jurgen-sx7om ... He was getting hoarse from the touring. Plus he's getting older now. He was never the best at singing, but you can't let that get in the way. The fans still like the music despite it & are a bit forgiving. Remember, they were only hairdressers that then made a huge pop cultural & musical impact in the early 1980's.

I saw them last night at the Echo Lounge in Dallas. StrangeLove opened for them and they were entertaining too. I was a little disappointed with the sound control. Mike's keyboards were really drowned out. I was so tired of standing by the time those 3 signature songs came out at the end. I also did not know Mike Score was going to be the only original one performing.

Mike has really been the only one keeping the band going for as long as possible, after also making other new bands inbetween. This is his band after all. Their VH1 experience also relaxed some of their attitudes. The other 3 original guys pretty much stopped long ago, by the mid 1980's, for various reasons. But the originals have come together mainly to make new studio albums, such as during 2018-2021. Plus, Paul had been recovering from a stroke in 2020. We have to remember they are all senior citizens now & that there will come a time sooner than later when they will no longer be around & will go out into space like a flock of seagulls. We also have to remember they did not have a long successful career & only had a breakout in the early 1980's, that's it. It was really the fans that brought them back to life & is why Mike is playing above, even if he had to get a new lineup. I am pretty sure none of them even became multi-millionaires, especially for a band that got huge worldwide before.

Well it was my first.. so I suppose i had no room for comparison.
The original lineup disbanded long ago, in the mid 1980's. Mike resurrected the band & band name, since this is his band anyway. But the original lineup had come together recently to make new albums. They just don't really want to tour as the originals. Age is one reason, since they are senior citizens now, not the band we see in our minds when we go back to 1982.
But who knows, they as the originals may do a short tour for their last hurrah, since time is running out for them.
