Just a few notes of correction,
1- There are only 270 campsites and 13 of those are "Administration Sites" meaning they are not rentable (emergency use)
2- There are only 3 concrete camping pads in the entire campground, they are handicapable accessible site 101 in 100 loop, site 203 in 200 loop and site 709 in 700 loop.
3- There is an average of 6 fresh water hook-ups per loop. 6 in 100 loop, 7 in 200 loop, 5 in 300 loop, 5 in 400 loop, 6 in 500 loop, 5 in 600 loop, 8 in 700 loop and 5 in 800 loop.
4- The Dam has saved Rochester multiple times as well as all of the towns between Letchworth State Park and Rochester not Buffalo. It is a flood prevention Dam.
Thank you for this info. Much appreciated
Awesome thanks for sharing. Look forward to this campground.
Sorry it took so long to respond. Did you end up going? How was your trip?
So amazing overthere i visited a lott
We loved it. We need to make it back in the fall. I bet its beautiful
Just got back from the park. The 'skeeters were very lively, and the views were awesome. The cabins are recently redone and are really nice. Well worth the trip!
Glad you enjoyed. We would like to try again later in the fall
Thanks again for another review of a place we want to go. Love your reviews as we have a 5th wheel.
An interesting bit of TV trivia. The soap opera General Hospital used Letchworth for a remote shoot in 1993 as part of Luke and Laura's return. They parachute out of a plane and land in the river.
LOL. I will have to pass that on to my grandma. She absolutely loved that show. Thanks for the info.
This was my favorite park so far.
We have had an amazing summer. The Kinzua was on my bucket list and didn't disappoint. Letchworth was another one on our bucket list for East Coast must see. It was so much more than we expected. I hope the video captured half of the actual beauty. Would be awesome in a few weeks when the leaves change. Thanks again for watching!!
It's one of my favorites too!
We would like to go back later in the fall when the leaves are changing.
It is incredible in the fall.
💯💪
wonderful content may live long you both respected creators ❤️
My family and mom's best friend and her family had side by side camping spots for about five years and we were always either at the rec area for activities or outside playing volleyball or hiking on the various trails finding smaller streams with their own water falls. We were visited by raccoons and skunks at night who begged for marshmallows, and spot deer off in the deeper woods. Back then, you could hike down to the gorge but now it is closed off.
Sounds like you had some awesome experiences here. We really did enjoy our stay.
I camp there at least once a year. One thing you didn't mention is the white-water rafting. It's located at the lower falls area. Adventure Calls Outfitters offer a great trip through the gorge!!!
I guess I didn’t know about that. Thank you for letting us know. We will have to look into that
In the area we had usually amount of rain fall this year all Summer long! That explain all the bugs!
Just be very watchful for the rattlesnakes on trails !
Geez. We didnt see any when we were there but definitely thanks for the heads up!!
I grew up 6 miles from here. I swam in that pool ever Tuesday during the summer with our school would take a bus there. I think they took the Diving only pool out, but that was pretty awesome. there used to be a pool at middle falls back when I was growing up, now I think they have a splash pad in it's place. I wish they would have renovated all the camp bathrooms before building that multi million dollar nature center. It better be well kept. New Yorkers pay more taxes than almost any other state thanks to NYC.
pool was closed for the season when we were there. from what we could see it looked nice though
Any comment on the location of the dump station? We are headed there this weekend 😎
Going to go there this summer. Never stayed at a state rv campground,so question is how to I fill my water tank on my trailer? Do I hump the water to my site fill at the spigot. I don’t want to be the guy you talk about at the camp fire.
Great question. Every park is a little different. For the most part you should see spigots labeled for filling your freshwater tank. Be sure it doesn't say "Non-Potable" as those are for rinsing hoses after dumping tanks and are definitely not what you want.
