I'm loving it actually. I'm an OG battlefront player and its nice to see something I'm somewhat used to. However, with that said, I agree with a lot of the points mentioned. In addition, I never got into the MOBA scene or similar games and I feel a lot of stuff goes over my head. For instance, a LOT of screens are packed with WAY too much information to navigate. If I've unlocked something I may not know where the rewards are for some time. Also, gameplay is missing information for the tutorial. The green health power ups are self explanatory. But what to the purple lightning bolts do? I can guess but I never got an explanation. I think what's harming the game is the usual predatory sales, lack of simplicity for a wider audience and lack of universality across platforms.
It's a mixed bag like it feels good as a game but has ALL the cons of live service stuff It's like of there was a battlefront lite in the middle of all it all
So a decently fun arena hero shooter, bogged down by live service features? If that isn't a summary of gaming the last few years in a nutshell than I don't know what is. I agree though, Squadrons was great and a shame it never got it's audience. I still play solo Squadrons sessions though somewhat regularly since it's a solid experience.
I wish that it were posdible to communicate in-game with other players, as i had an experience where the opposing team was very clearly a pre-built and planned squad of people who were either in the same room playing the game, or playing over discord and arranging strategies. My team had gotten wiped 25-1 because they all stuck together and jumped individual players while my swuad was getting separated and picked apart. That and not being able to report afk players is frustrating. Had a sentinel player just sit in the spawn zone for an entire game once
Having been playing it for a while since it came out on Singapore, I am not going to regurgitate the same old drivel from other players, because my experiences have been the same with the vast majority of players. What I want people to be aware of however is that whilst mobile games aren't for everyone, those who actively play mobile games are those that spend a lot of time at work and having an actually fun game to pass the time with short enough matches like this is huge. I am a PC gamer through and through and I've played a lot of Star Wars EaW and other strategy games, and I do have a Steam Deck I bring to work from time to time. But there are times I don't feel like bringing it out and I'm bored out of my mind so I take out my phone, but I can't bear to play some of the games I have on it even if they were Single player which is what everyone keeps raving on nowadays which don't get me wrong I do love a good single player game but after a while it gets mundane. After Hunters came out it finally scratched that MP mobile itch I've been having but couldn't bear playing some of the more mainstream MP mobile games. Been a huge Star Wars fan before, then the Deeznuts nation attacked blah blah bloody hell. Gave it a little chance and now I'm happy again. TLDR Star Wars Hunters is a good game, eat shit haters.
About the limited number of characters and the slowness to unlock, I like that they've at least added an ARAM mode because ARAM is how I discovered the champions I like on League
My issue is how completely over saturated the market is for this type of game. Im tired of live service games and i want to go back to normal multiplayer games.
I'm done with multiplayer games. I want splitscreen back, but after I saw it get taken out of the remaster of the og battlefront I finally realized it was dead. Just like multiplayer games without live service.
The mechanics are good but Switch performance is unstable at best and unplayable at times. Im not against “freemium” games but this one is just lacking content and modes to keep long term interest. Im not going to be content grinding for a different skin color blaster after a week or two.
I like the game, but the game is so small right know, most of the characters are free but my biggest fear is that the game is gonna die in a couple of weeks or months
We already got superlative enough multiplayer experiences. We call them X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter, X-Wing Alliance, Movie Battles, the classic Battlefront I and II, and Empire at War plus mods. Still, I'll be glad to report that this'll never catch on. May the likes of Quake III and Left 4 Dead 2 actually last longer than this drivel.
The matchmaking system is horrid, theyll fill your squad with bots and place you against actual sentient beings in almost every match of ranked. Got to their version of gold and just got sick of it.
How do you make a SW game like this and have 13 rando SW characters as players? Star Wars has to have literally HUNDRENDS of known characters that people would recognize and like. This is CLEARLY not a story based game, so there's no reason why they couldn't have Revan, Corran Horn, Palpatine and Boba Fett on the same playing field as Rey, Kylo, Feylya and Tarkin. How do they miss an opportunity like this? They could have milked SW IP for literally years with battle passes and DLCs for a game like this!
To be fair that doesn't sound that fun, having mostly jedi or dudes with blasters. Making them wacky or giving them random weapons or abilities removes anything except the look of the character. I'm sure they'll bring out characters from cannon and legends over time
Played for a week on mobile. Lacks every basics - no proper tutorial just play against bots till x lvl or x matches. Half of players have no idea what to do in dif modes. No chat. Not even basic premade like "need heals" or "atack middle" etc... nada(team based lmao). When queued cant do shit. Just stare at timer. Cant change button position!!!biggest fooken mistake cause default position is horrendous(im on S23u biggie). No proper match history just who win/lose and player names. Matchmaking gets bad the higher lvl. Even for casual-in future youll be playing against bots mostly as per usual on these types of mobile games. Its not p2w yet id even dare to say its most f2p friendly out there. Grind to get..Now you can be sure it will be p2w..no one escapes that. Probably missed points but ive uninstalled it lol.. maybe in a future far far away they'll fix basics. Other then that decent game- but gets boring real fast.
Yeah it's pretty fun. Would've loved if they expanded the gameplay and put it on pc and the other consoles but oh well.

the purple power bolt is for your ultimate like if you need to charge it faster.

I didn't even play the game or hear it was released but the review seems very fair with great points, it is just not my style of game and art style.
Hoping this gets a PC release so I can play it on Steam Deck :)
And have people hacking the PC servers :/
The menus between games is confusing, convoluted, and unintuitive. Gameplay was fine. But i dread having to go between menus after a battle
Unintuitive, cassino-like menus and homescreen have become the norm on mobile games and I loathe them with a passion

Yes worth the try everyone complains but this game is actually fun no game is perfect if you like it play it
Love it !!!

Skora mains rise up!!!!
As a free phone game I think its pretty decent & quite some fun

I 100% agree with you. I'm beyond tired of live service games. I hardly play them anymore and have started to have tons more fun gaming again
besides the awful menu screens, the game's actually pretty fun! It's a nice 20-minute experience on my Switch
I luv it
👍
Sorry Corey I have to disagree, we need less live service games not more. Love the channel
so i cant use my name kumorocks cause the stupid game thinks its profanity but girthypencil is allowed? wtf
Aran tal wont be in a paywall after the season itl be in the hunters path

Worth it? It’s free, try it and find out 🤷🏻♂️

How the Hell is he Getting this Kinda FPS on a Switch?!
I've heard this Fortnite comparison being made several times now, in what world is this game like Fortnite in the slightest?
Only the art style and even then it just means "cartoony"
I played 12 times and everytime the game was nothing but bots. I didn’t die a single time and got 10-15 kills a game. No thanks
That's the first few levels, basically as a tutorial. Don't love it either, but it goes away.
@@CoreysDatapad oooh that is refreshing to hear. Do you remember what level it goes away on?
@@HeroicAge616about lvl 5
More live service slop, I think I’ll pass

Just go play battlefront 2 or galaxy of heroes dude
I'm sure the ultra-powerful heroes will be released soon enough behind paywalls. It's Zynga. They're famously predatory.

This game is full of bots anyways no matter what level your on bots are going to be on your team
Sorry. It looks far to much like overwatch for me to like it.
Fair sounding review but Fizney has nuked from orbit the franchise which turns me off from a good sounding game #DuckFizney
Lost me at Mobile
