I'm the opposite of this. Been gaming 30 years and this is my most played game in history. Hundreds of hours and absolutely 100% achievement. It came out of nowhere as well. I only bought as it was reduced.
It always amazes me how f-ing good elk is at multi tasking. The way he just casually does an almost perfect ridge defence and also explains stuff is just absolute perfection.
I managed a 4 hour run on NG+ recently but that was on the easiest difficulty where basically every machine dies in one shot regardless of what you shoot them with, this was very very impressive and informative, I might have to try some of these tricks myself.

I was wondering why the game seemed to be streamed at 30FPS... then remembered the game **is** 30FPS (on the PS4), I had just forgotten because I play with my TV motion interpolation which makes it a silky smooth 60FPS.
Me:*laughing at "silky smooth" yeah its smooth, it's literally adding a slight delay just for that smoothness, that feature isn't even meant for games. You're still at 30 fps and it's just adding input lag lmao not at all comparable to actual 60fps+
When was the Cannons introduced not in Vanilla right ? , i mean Horizon Zero Dawn was one of them games that i binge played for a whole Year.... Along with some other Games , This basically was my MHW at first on PS4 😅💯 Cant wait for the New Forbbiden West Horizon too 🔥
each community makes up its own rules basically. And here it is probably to make PS4/PS4 Pro/PS5 more comparable. Otherwise someone might have to upgrade the HDD in their PS4 to have faster loading times etc. Usually PC games and others where loading times can differ widely between systems are cutting out loading screens, while old console stuff (SNES, PS1, etc) don't. But in the end, it is the speedrun community of the given game that decides its rules.

Skyrimming up the mountain to Gaia Prime was a duh moment for me... I died countless times tryna get through all the machines on said mountain lol
