Kristian Kostov (born 15 March, 2000, in Moscow) is a Bulgarian-Russian singer. He was a finalist in season one of The Voice Kids Russia and a runner-up in the fourth season of X Factor Bulgaria. He represented Bulgaria in the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 with the song "Beautiful Mess", finishing in 2nd place.

Thanks for being honest and consistent, Kris. I agree with your first and second, I would add Rasmussen, Melovin, Aws, Yianna, Leva, Vanja. Big 5 + the host entries are quite good this year. As a whole, it will be a very strong competition - all the countries did well, which is unusual.

I wouldn't have expected loving a song like Mikolas' so much, but the guy did an amazing performance. He has charm. Ukraine deserved MUCH BETTER (along with Serbia, they were both robbed), the performance was stunning and probably the best staging of the night. Hungary absolutely rocked. Italy just had so much emotion and as for Albania, Eugent's vocals are striking, he was beautiful. Bulgaria's vibe was awesome, it sounded dark and powerful - same goes for Finland, except that Saara was a bit more... Energetic, rather than strong? Estonia had an incredible performer with surreal vocals and Austria was the best song of the top 3 and seeing the points go around, I was rooting for César, he was just something different on stage compared to a lot of the performers. I didn't particularly get the hype around Cyprus or Sweden, they were cool, I just didn't find them too stunning. Germany reminded me of Ed Sheeran and I loved it, it simply didn't make my top 10 (same goes for Ireland, the Netherlands and the UK). Moldova had a nice song, the performance was great though - super creative. Israel didn't get to me - I hate the lyrics, the sound, the staging, the chicken dance, the ?sounds? at the beginning, I found Netta's voice annoying... I would've been fine with the ranking if she hadn't won, I never guessed she could possibly get in the top 10, let alone win... But, anyways, those are just my opinions, thanks for reading and cheers from a Bulgarian girl in the UK!
Yeaaaaaaah, I actually am really conflicted right now and my top 5 could be arranged in pretty much any way.
For me, no one tops MELOVIN this year. He is just amazing. Too bad the jury didn't see it.

[Kill]Joy is a Firebreather You know, before the semi-finals, I saw everyone talking about Melovin. I listened to "Under the ladder" and hated it. After hearing this song a few more times, it became my favorite. Somehow, I barely even care about the other songs now. Maybe about Alekseev's "Forever". But that's it. It's funny how easily our opinions change.
Lina To be fair, I hadn't listened to any of the songs before the final so he was the first one I heard & saw. Pretty strong start, I found the staging to be incredibly impressive at the time, wasn't too blown away by the song. Now I truly love it, though.

bookmakers are not always right ;) We- people, decide what we like or what we don't. Meybe Michael won't win, but he is still great singer with great voice. Do You remember Tom Dice with his song 'Me and my guitar'? Bookmakers didn't even mention it, the song was very non-competitive, but finally he finished six.
They actually are always right about the bad contestants . Did you even follow em? in your example Tom Dice ''me and my guitar'' was high ranked. He was even in the top 10 in eurovisionworld.

Thanks for this. I agree with you on the majority of them. I'm Swiss, and for the first time in a few years loved our entry. Shame it didn't make it through. Now I live in Ireland, so I was supporting Ryan. My fave this year was Bulgaria. Actually been a fave of mine for the last 3 years. Also really loved Austria and Germany, and Czech Republic and Sweden.
I absolutely agree with Kristian the first place in Bulgaria, one step ahead of everyone else. For the rest of the ranking, my favorite genre is "epic" so I put Denmark in the top ten. A prominent place for Finland and Greece. I see backward Sweden, Germany and Latvia. Outsiders France and Italy for very strong social content. Whoever wins ... hurray for the European song festival, an example of how European peoples should live their unity!
Buying songs from foreign composers and bringing Americans to be the leading singers is a bit.. Sad. You may be ahead of everyone but you are not using 100% Bulgarian talent, You actually abandon your own musicians that could do those parts. Many other countries compete with 100% of the members from their own country. That's the way it actually should be. If I was a Bulgarian, I wouldn't be too proud of this entry, not because its bad but because most of it is not Bulgarian at all.
I do not know the background but I think that music has no boundaries. Many countries that participate, however, I find that they present songs that are the result of international collaborations. I think it's normal and I hope tomorrow is not about Europe, America, Asia ... but just about music!
D.J. Highlanders what you say sounds nice and everything but the result of this ''international collaboration'' is that local composers and now even singers, don't get the opportunity to participate, because their country preffer to hire outsiders. Does it seem great now? Is that fair to all those musicians?
