My 2.5 yo V gets around 3 hours outside everyday. We do around 15min of command drills most days. At home I give her lots of puzzle toys for mental stimulation.

My one has been the easiest dog breed I have ever had in terms of training. He is soooo intelligent and seems to pick up everything intuitively. Never on lead, and walked 12 km a day, absolutely friendly with all other dogs, children people etc. Pees himself if I growl at him! Fortunately, that is a very rare occurrence. Amazing dog!

They can be good with babies and young children. I got my first Vizsla when he was 8 weeks old. My grand daughter was born a week later and lived with me until she was 4 years old. They were best friends. Did everything together. Eat, sleep, play. He was always very gentle with her. As a baby crawling on the floor she could take a bone right out of his mouth. And when he and my other dog would play fight/roughhouse in the living room she could be toddling right through the middle of that tornado and they'd never touch her. And honestly we never really trained him to be gentle with her. It was like instinct, like he just knew.

Just adopted a 2 yr old rescue from Ukraine. I have now worked out she's a Vizsla. Exactly as described in this video. Still very scared of new people & situations at the moment but sticking to us like velcro. She tried to climb a tree in the park running after a squirrel. The positives she has really good recall and trying very hard with the other bits of training. She didn't like the sea where we took her but I can see from the video that they like swimming. Great video

About the daily 45-60 minute exercise: that is the minimum, the dog can easily do 3x more.

So, having a creature who loves you so much all they want is to play with you and share joy all day is a bad thing?
I'm betting your pup is under 18 months old. That you don't own a Frisbee or a tennis ball thrower. Wanting your Vizsla to become a couch potato before age 2 is just silly. If you want your rusty baby to calm down cuddle them.

training the nose and brain is more important i think. I do very little sports with my vizsla. but be do walks about for 3 to 4 hours every day with mental training (obedience and trails). but some jogging and biking once a week is okay for my 2 years old vizsla boy. 15 min trail work is more effective than 60 biking.

First 2 years I thought I couldn't live with mine. Very demanding with regards to activity and play. If you want peace and quiet don't get a vizsla. Around age 2 she slowed a bit but still needs 2 hours of high energy activity a day or she will drive me nut in many ways.

Pronounced Vee-shla. Also better described as "Versatile Vizsla." Also one hour of exercise per day is nowhere near enough. Think Olympic-tier athletes.

If you open the google translator set the source to english then the target to "magyar"
Write vizsla into source and see same on right side. Click to speaker on RIGHT side and the pronunciation is correct. On left (english) side the pronunciation is bad.

@@r.blackmore5921oh i’m in USA and i have two and tried to find one to adopt and couldn’t find one for about a year so i bought two from a breeder… you may have better luck finding one to adopt in Europe if there are a lot. these dogs are here are not free to adopt and usually never surrendered. not that i have found myself in my experience anyway. good luck and i hope you find one. they are awesome dogs!
