I have a safety vest in my car..I almost wore it but didn't because i felt like i was even more noticeable...but hey it worked without it this time at least! Thanks for watching! atb -KG
Dude, way back when I remember a tv show or a RUclips vid of some guy actually making a living at this in New York. Same idea just did it in front of jewelry stores. Ok maybe not “made a living” but found cool valuables. Tell them your work for the purple guys in Denver! Or put a purple sweater on and they would for sure leave you be.
Absolutely AWESOME INDEED!! I know this was a while ago, but the location you picked is Brilliant. 😎👍👍 Find or Not... That's what we "Mud~Slingers / Gold Prospectors" do. We dig. Stay Awesome! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Might be a good idea to see if you could get the vacuumed up goodies from street sweepers to run through a sluice!! Just a thought .. bet that would have a profit margin to it!
Hey man, in my state. You were about 40 miles sw of me. Penns Grove (HISTORICAL DOCUMENTS:) Home of Bruce Willis. I used to work with his Stepmoms friend. The only dirt I have is he and Demi were to buy his parents a new home but reniged. I belive his family still resides there. My contibution of worthless info. Great idea doing all the States. Enjoying. Tom
That's cool, didn't know that. Just looks like a pretty run down little city, but not as bad as a lot of NJ cities. Thanks for watching and appreciate the comment
Hi Mate.. Next time run a magnet around the outside of your pan.. At least if the metal is attracted to the magnet.. That will give you some sort of indication of what it might be.! Thanks for sharing your adventure..!! Cheers TONY.👍🍺⛏🇦🇺
Hey Famo59, thanks for taking the time to comment. I have a certain way of doing the panning and classifying, all the way down to gold. I like to classify down to -30 and then dry it out (usually) then take the magnetics out while dry. After that, I just pan down the easy stuff! Thanks for watching! atb -KG
yellow when stesting silver is an indication that it is silver but not much, plated would turn green and higher purity turns red. the less purity of silver the more yellow it becomes. also those people probably thought you are working cleaning the side walks lol.
11:53 yeah those do look like gold. You need a USB microscope camera - search Amazon for "USB microscope", they're like $20 and I use mine all the time for checking out tiny Gold flakes. That ball is probably a stainless steel ball bearing. A lot of stainless alloys are only slightly magnetic.
Great video, that portable gas vac works a treat. Some of that looked like gold to me too. You can also test for silver with bleach. Bleach will tarnish silver pretty much instantly, a tiny amount dripped or brushed on is all you need. Safer stuff and it's nice and cheap too.
just fyi, most gold found is combined with silver. If there is enough silver, the substance is known as electrum. You may have gold there, but it may have a lot of silver in it. Actually more common than most know. Many people throw it away thinking it is not gold. Jut some food for thought :)
Nothing looks more silly than a prospector....until We find a piece of shiny anyway😁. Maybe next time grab a reflective safety vest and a hard hat and you'll look less conspicuous. I'm going back now to watch the vacuum video.
Yea I know, it's just weird going out there feels like evryone's watching. Good idea with the vest, I almost did but thought it would attract even more attention! Thaks for watching and enjoy the vacuum movie! atb -KG
You're almost doing a public service while not interfering with traffic. I remember reading a out building just that sort of vacuum for crevice hunting in a book written 30 years ago.
Shane, One of the last vids of yours on the river panning gold, I saw your classifying basket from Arborfab dot com, so my husband went to the website and ordered me one (With Your Code .... Thank You) and guess what, I got it in only Two Days!. They Are Fast! The handle on mine is a shorter length and in a stationary position. I'm thinkin' I will have better control because of the improvement of the handle. I Love it! Since I'm in California, I can get most mining items locally, but I knew this would be a good classifier, because of your brutal demo. Lol ! Thanks for the demo, Shane. : ) Let's hear it for Arborfab !
Hahah, now this was COOL... Brave, original haha, great idea man! I'm sure you've seen the guy in NYC do this to the Gold district he found lots of gold and gems! It would not surprise me that was silver shot, tons of buckets of silver shot go in and out of there. That's what they use to make the coins. Keep @ it and HH !
Yeah i thought it was silver shot too, just like you said. They bring it in like that, I was sure at least some fell off the truck! Guess not though, still don't know exactly what it was. Anyway Thanks for watching! atb -KG
That is what most people (who cannot stand the thought of trying anything new) would think was a pretty goofy idea, I'm glad you tried it!!! I do not know anything about collecting gold or silver except what I have seen online (Cody's Lab). I have never done it since I don't live anywhere people find gold. Since there was so much organic stuff for things to stick to, could you initially heat up what you collect to burn off the organics and leave behind any metal?
Ralph, have you ever read the old story of the guy that collected the dust from the mint years ago. yes he got quite a bit of silver before they stopped the dust that escaped. It is in the early history. Can't prove it just now but check it out Also there is a guy that does side walk prospecting in NEW YORK CITY.
True it could be! I also plan on going downtown in front of the gold and jewelry exchange. It's in a bad part of town too...who konw what kind of fights happened there over loose gold ! Thanks for watching! atb -KG
Dude, they probably thought you were just a janitor or something, hahahaha!!!! That's cool though. I would have been a nervous wreck just waiting for some guard to come out with the wrong idea.
You need a bright yellow fluorescent jacket to do that kinda poking...Slim Pickens! You probably have Strontium, Barium and aluminum in there too along with the bits of cars.
of course there''s gold in the sidewalk cracks in Colorado, the city spreads sand on the streets in the winter and there's likely some traces of gold on that sand on the trucks so pf course it would get trapped in the cracks.
Old video but new idea. What about doing this at various landmarks? (Eg. Courthouse, city hall, police station, bus stops, malls) make a series out of it and see what is the most profitable.
Next time take 2 small cones, and print 2 small signs and laminate them that say "Sidewalk Cleanup Crew" and wear a neon vest. Boom then you can relax. :)
Landscapers, pest control and other workers like that are invisible to everyone. We go completely unnoticed. Try a orange reflective vest and you can do that anywhere you want.
Shane, That was different. I was expecting you to get a few specs of gold, because they used bags of sand to make cement and we know there is usually anywhere from a few specs to possibly in the grams. You just never know. Right? Intriguing little silverish ball. You can pick up ball bearings with a magnet, so .... hmm? Let us know if you find out. OkeeDokee.? : )
You should try the cracks next to the streets or if possible cracks in the streets themselves. Cars catalytic converters break down over time the platinum and paladium break loose and shoot right out of the tailpipes of cars. Also if possible could you do a video on extracting the precious metals from catalytic converters that would be awesome. Thanks man awesome videos you do
KleshGuitars I tried to recover the precious metals from a catalytic converter but used peroxide and muriatic acid and did something wrong and my project failed. However I have tried the electronic / computer gold and forgot about it now I have tons of green powder and such. Would you be interested in recovering the gold from the forgotten computer scrap gold and silver? It was a lot of computer chips and etc. From old computers (2 truck loads of scrap) my email is tricountycleaning3@yahoo.com Whatever you recover from it is yours to keep or you could do a giveaway. You can also let me know hpw to ship it in the email if you decide to or not. Either way If possible just email me saying yay or nay. Otherwise I'll just dispose it properly. Thanks gor all the videos and will be a paterion member soon, Bud
Are you saying you have 2 truckloads of scrap computer parts? That is a huge amount that I wouldn't be able to process with my equipment. It would also cost a fortune to have it shipped. If I'm misunderstanding let me know, but if I had the equipment I'd be happy to give it a shot.
KleshGuitars lol no it's all processed down into dried out coffee filters And jars of dried up green powder etc. I for got about and is in my garage cupboards. If you email me I can send you pictures of it all. It will all fit in a medium size plastic coffee can. It was a lot of work (around 3 months) processing the chips and stuff.
That is what is so kool about Denver, nobody questions anything. Everybody here minds their own business. Im pretty sure i have passed by a dead body a few times. If anybody was to question you, all you have to say is your a geologist from the Denver museum of nature and Science doing research of porphyry deposits.
Ya maybe, but I think the catalytic converter residue is pretty microscopic. If you go to the RUclips channel CodysLab, search for recovering platinum from the road (or something like that), he explains the whole thing very scientifically. Its a great channel I recommend it if you haven't already heard of him. THanks for watching I appreciate the support! atb -KG
Yeah it's a place called Confluence park. You can pan for gold there, but I haven't had much luck there. Then again, I don't have much luck anywhere Lol
i dont understand why we chose a random spot on the sidewalk rather than in front of the gate or employee entrance. but I'm not vacuuming the street either so I guess I can't complain.
Is that the metal from car brakes? I think it's valuable, I saw a video of people sweeping a highway for metal from brakes or was it ctilitic converters that put out valuable metal can't remember?
True, there's lots of platinum on roads. However, it's microscopic and can be recovered using chemicals and fire. I will be doing this in a future video! Thanks for watching!
The gold may have come from the sand that is used when they made the cement for the sidewalk. With so much sand used it has to come from a local source.
I have two more videos like this - Scratching sidewalks in front of a coin and jewelry store...I actually find Gold and Diamonds in those videos! Thanks for asking, hope you enjoy them! atb -KG

Zero to none. The platinum and palladium that comes out is so tiny it takes many cubic yards of "rod dirt" processing to get even a small bead of platinum.
catalytic converter reminisce to some extent. some city's have street sweepers dump at a company who will produce platinum from it. the company's doing this are public as I know. nice job. Have I seen you at the VA hospital? been there?
good place to try... mint or not.. If youre ever concerned about people messing with you, get a safety vest and a hard hat and nobody will think twice about anything you do. You can even put cones down to keep people out of the way.
YES CodysLab is an excellent channel. I do remember him sweeping up on I-80 a year or two ago and getting some platinum out of it. I do plan to do something similar, just with less science equipment (for now). Thanks for watching!! atb -KG
KleshGuitars that was a good episode. I also remember him doing one where he mined for diamonds from road dust. Anyway, loved the video. Keep doing stuff like this. Oh, and consider me a new sub
Yea I do some prospecting on my other videos, go take a look. I play around in the creeks west of Denver usually. I find a little color every time, but I try to make the videos educational as well. Thanks for watching!! atb -KG
KAMLOOPS BC , RIGHT NOW IS ARROWHEAD SEASON ,AND LOW WATER GOLD BESIDES FISHING . THANKS FOR THE TIME IT TAKES YOU TO MAKE ALL THESE VIDEOS, VERY WELL DONE. Ollie
If you wore an orange construction vest and a hat, combined with the cones which are already there, most would assume you were on the job. LOL
I have a safety vest in my car..I almost wore it but didn't because i felt like i was even more noticeable...but hey it worked without it this time at least! Thanks for watching! atb -KG
Dam I just comment this same subject. Human psychology is crazy.
Dude, way back when I remember a tv show or a RUclips vid of some guy actually making a living at this in New York. Same idea just did it in front of jewelry stores. Dude, you have the coolest toys...but nothing beats the ol broom and dust pan.
The vacuum makes a nice disturbance so, that's always fun. Thanks for watching
Absolutely AWESOME INDEED!!
I know this was a while ago, but the location you picked is Brilliant. 😎👍👍
Find or Not... That's what we "Mud~Slingers / Gold Prospectors" do. We dig.
Stay Awesome! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Thank you Tom Weidler!
No one gave you a look because you just did more than any city worker
Thanks Diggz11 for watching!
Might be a good idea to see if you could get the vacuumed up goodies from street sweepers to run through a sluice!! Just a thought .. bet that would have a profit margin to it!

yellow when stesting silver is an indication that it is silver but not much, plated would turn green and higher purity turns red. the less purity of silver the more yellow it becomes. also those people probably thought you are working cleaning the side walks lol.

You come up with some of the best ideas! I sure hope you find something in your sidewalk prospecting!
Thanks Dorie that's nice to say. I appreciate your support and Thanks for watching! atb -KG
Great video, that portable gas vac works a treat. Some of that looked like gold to me too.
You can also test for silver with bleach. Bleach will tarnish silver pretty much instantly, a tiny amount dripped or brushed on is all you need. Safer stuff and it's nice and cheap too.
That is genius I need to try that bleach trick! Thanks for all the support on my live streams and also Thanks for watching!! atb -KG

I'm in Dallas, everything is ancient seabed, we don't even have black sand.
I tried to stay out of everyone's way but it was still pretty scary LOL
Just when ya think you've seen everything. Surprised that security was absent.
City sidewalks are owned by the city/taxpayer so even the police right across the street couldn't do anything.
ive been to Colorado a couple of times and noticed alot of quartz at rest stop areas, be kinda cool to check for gold
Worth a look, it wouldn’t hurt

Paul Yes I've seen a video of that guy in NYC, I plan on doing the same thing for a video! Thanks for watching!! atb -KG
It could be a zinc coated BB.
I've thought of doing the same thing in our downtown jewelry center. Great video.
Yeah it did suck but knew I’d finish up quick. I went in there on a mission
Well gonna go find it. This video was in my feed. Going to watch now! Thx for letting me know you made one on it!
Nice!
You need a bright yellow fluorescent jacket to do that kinda poking...Slim Pickens!
You probably have Strontium, Barium and aluminum in there too along with the bits of cars.
Interesting, and yea I agree I should get a bright yellow jacket for these types of videos. Thanks for watching
of course there''s gold in the sidewalk cracks in Colorado, the city spreads sand on the streets in the winter and there's likely some traces of gold on that sand on the trucks so pf course it would get trapped in the cracks.
Yea that's most likely where the gold came from. I panned out some home depot sand and found gold too LOL
Old video but new idea. What about doing this at various landmarks? (Eg. Courthouse, city hall, police station, bus stops, malls) make a series out of it and see what is the most profitable.
Good Idea Mick J! Thanks for watching!

Landscapers, pest control and other workers like that are invisible to everyone. We go completely unnoticed. Try a orange reflective vest and you can do that anywhere you want.
Good Idea David Parsons! Thanks for watching!
It could be gold from the sands they use on the road to help melt snow, they would get the dirt from a local area. Just a guess.
That's actually a pretty good hypothesis. I didn't think of that! Thanks for watching! atb -KG
Denver is a pretty laid back city. I think that’s why you got left alone. It’s why I can’t leave!
Yeah Denver is pretty great. Thanks for watching!
Great video. Benny Hill haha. I especially liked the testing of silver. I've never seen that done before :)
Thanks I thought it would be fun to put that benny hill in there LOL. Glad ya enjoyed the video
Love the benny hill theme, also look for diamonds
Thanks Panama Red. Ill look for everything, who knows what Ill find in those sidewalks! Thanks for watching!! atb -KG

Very cool video Shane!
Your old vacuum didn’t seem that powerful. Your new Milwaukee M18 hand vacuum is the real deal!
NEXT VIDEO: Prospecting inside the Denver mint... (in the vault lol)
That's a place I'd really like to tour. Lived in Denver area for years and never done it..
You can also get Platinum from car and truck exhaust too. Due to the catalytic converter
I agree rdwafer75, and thanks for watching!
Love the Benny Hill music . Perfect
Thank you Rob Dedrick!
I dont want people to notice me
Pulls out a 2 stroke vacuum
Love the videos
😂

That is what is so kool about Denver, nobody questions anything. Everybody here minds their own business. Im pretty sure i have passed by a dead body a few times. If anybody was to question you, all you have to say is your a geologist from the Denver museum of nature and Science doing research of porphyry deposits.
Haha yeah I suppose. I'd just say I was scraping sidewalks for a video.
How did you know I was laughing at your junk? LOL That was a very interesting video. I don't expect yours to be anything less. Loved it.
I need that junk! : ) Thanks for watching Shirl!! atb -KG
Did you ever wonder why they have to replate the capitol dome? Check out under the down spouts.
I will do some research on this, thanks!
The silver looking color flakes are probably platinum from catalytic converters.
Ya maybe, but I think the catalytic converter residue is pretty microscopic. use a 20 30 times eye piece to see those small specks. and it could be from the sidewalk sweeper brushes.
Thank you Clyde O'Hara!
Wonder if the side walks them selves have gold in the sand used to mix them.
Yeah I wouldn't doubt it! Thanks for watching!! atb -KG
Benny hill
haha yes!
amazing that folks could be that oblivious!
They just thought I was a city worker or something I guess?!
Man you've got some balls, I'd be so embarrassed.
I agree chris shaggymaest, and thanks for watching!
Have ever panned or metal detect where the platte river and cherry creek river meet?
Yeah it's a place called Confluence park. You can pan for gold there, but I haven't had much luck there. Then again, I don't have much luck anywhere Lol
i dont understand why we chose a random spot on the sidewalk rather than in front of the gate or employee entrance. but I'm not vacuuming the street either so I guess I can't complain.
Man you are crazy! I love this channel! Dave from Maine
Dave from Maine, Thanks for watching!! atb -KG
Tbr they probably think you work for the city cleaning the sidewalks
I thought I saw a tooth when you were classifying the dirt lol
It's possible man! haha
Is that the metal from car brakes? I think it's valuable, I saw a video of people sweeping a highway for metal from brakes or was it ctilitic converters that put out valuable metal can't remember?
Yep, catalytic converters release microscopic amounts of platinum which in large amounts can be "prospected". Thanks for watching!
cool video, great to see footage of denver. thats a neat idea.
Glad you enjoyed it and Thanks for watching! atb -KG
Did you convert a "blower" into a vacuum? Very nice.
Yep, surprised you missed the video where I build it!
Great idea and worth a try! Thanks for sharing!
Yeah it was fun, I definitely wanted it to end though LOL. Thanks for watching!! atb -KG
Good Test and we know that it works and that the mint doesn't drop coins in the sidewalk cracks either. LOL Thanks
Thanks for watching O&G!
It’s on a city street with lots of cars, need to watch for platinum
True, there's lots of platinum on roads. However, it's microscopic and can be recovered using chemicals and fire. I will be doing this in a future video! Thanks for watching!
The gold may have come from the sand that is used when they made the cement for the sidewalk. With so much sand used it has to come from a local source.
Good point
Can you do one like going outside of different jewelry stores and prospect in front of them
I have two more videos like this - Scratching sidewalks in front of a coin and jewelry store...I actually find Gold and Diamonds in those videos! Thanks for asking, hope you enjoy them! atb -KG
Maybe the lil flecks are escaped bits from exhaust catalytic converters they are full of platinum or something
It's possible! Thanks for watching! -KleshGuitars
Great stuff man!
Thank you
If u want to know if u have silver and no test kit put it on an ice cube. If it is silver it will melt immediately.
That was Wild man
Benny Hill classic Man classic
LOL i know I thought it was funny too
Id feel so akwards with that loud vacuum lol.
Yeah it was ! The things I do for you guys LOL Thanks for watching! -KleshGuitars
It's most likely just by deduction catalytic converters have platinum in them it is why there expensive some of the metal may be platinum
Thanks for watching!
Maybe platinum from a catalytic converter for the shiny flakes.
Ya maybe, but I think the catalytic converter residue is pretty microscopic. If you go to the RUclips channel CodysLab, search for recovering platinum from the road (or something like that), he explains the whole thing very scientifically. Its a great channel I recommend it if you haven't already heard of him. THanks for watching I appreciate the support! atb -KG
What are the chances of the metal flakes being platinum from catalytic converters or similar?
Zero to none. The platinum and palladium that comes out is so tiny it takes many cubic yards of "rod dirt" processing to get even a small bead of platinum.
Fun video! I've got to show my wife your vid. Finally a trunk that's worse than mine....lol! 👍
My truck is looks real bad but I NEED all that stuff with me when I go do videos. It's my mobile production studio LOL Thanks for watching!! atb -KG
I would be too afraid of disolved dog poo lol but great vidio Klesh
Thanks Leafbinder for watching!
catalytic converter reminisce to some extent. some city's have street sweepers dump at a company who will produce platinum from it. the company's doing this are public as I know. nice job. Have I seen you at the VA hospital? been there?
Yeah I'm at the VA a few times a month. You probably saw me at the Denver VA, or the Aurora VA
I’d say that’s either platinum or palladium from catalytic converters.
Good guess shaunpisk, and thanks for watching!
Keep up the good work man. Love your videos
Thanks Diggz11 for watching!
Pgms from catolytic converters from vehicles....the flakes.
I agree corey merrill, and thanks for watching!
They think it's ur job and ur doing the path a favour!their just a bit confused about the Hoover!😂😂
LOL For Sure
I would try it too
The small metal ball probably fell off of someone's ear or nose ring.
I love these sidewalk prospecting videos amazi g
Thank you Jake The rock slinger!
good place to try... mint or not.. If youre ever concerned about people messing with you, get a safety vest and a hard hat and nobody will think twice about anything you do. You can even put cones down to keep people out of the way.
Good Idea tubeyourself! Thanks for watching!
Could you imagine if that tool came out of the crack too fast and caught you in the knee? Talk about instant gonnaherpasyphylitus.
Why didn't you try the platinum test solution
You can find palladium as well
Good Observation john isabella, and thanks for watching!
Man, you get a thumbs up just for that dust pan tune. (8
Thanks Douglas Ives for watching!

There is a channel called codyslab ane thing he did was sweep up next to a road and got the platinum out of it
Exploring, I've looked at that and thought the fleets of vacuum trucks need to have their takings washed for platinum ore.
YES CodysLab is an excellent channel. I do remember him sweeping up on I-80 a year or two ago and getting some platinum out of it. I do plan to do something similar, just with less science equipment (for now). Thanks for watching!! atb -KG
