Thanks for posting this video Jim. To everyone who has liked and commented so far, thanks for the warm words. We had the time of our lives in that moment. None of it was planned by U2 as far as we could tell, we just tried to be near the "e" stage so they would see us. Desire was not on the setlist that night, but Bono made a split second decision and the rest is history. Many of you have wondered what it felt like and to be honest the best feeling of all was looking at our favourite band - Bono, Edge, Adam and Larry (especially!) and also looking out at the audience and seeing nothing but smiles, joy, happiness and pure energy. It's a moment we will never forget and we are forever grateful to U2 for gracing us with that experience. We made a multi-cam mix of it which shows the entire story a bit better, if you'd like to relive it as did the 12 or so other people who so kindly sent us their footage. Its here ruclips.net/video/7V-lRQj727E/видео.html . Thanks again for all the love and support. Cheers, ACROBAT
Great to hear from you... I remember chatting with you at the hideout after the show... Someone asked earlier what Bono said to you at around the 4:09 mark... I heard "I've always wanted to meet you... " Then it sounded like "...Don't quit your work" but I could be wrong.
@@JimboSlimbo36 haha yes! He says: "I've always wanted to meet you - love your earlier work" - which to me was a witty play on him meeting his younger self (some have said theres a slight resemblance to "young Bono" haha). He's quick on his feet with the jokes!
That has to be the BEST fan interaction I have ever seen!!! You guys rocked it!!! Bono came out with the harmonica but you had beat him to it. You guys were also spot on!! I can’t believe what I just saw!! Cheers from SoCal!! “Where the streets have no name” was filmed.👍🏼
I've loved this band since 1980. Being a 12 year old boy from Lafayette, Louisiana and drawing a kindred spirit with a band from Dublin, I've never given up on "my band". Their rise to incredible fame has not jaded their humanity. This video is proof that in a world where people struggle for significance, U2 reminds us all of the power in humility and honoring each other as humans. Cheers to music. Cheers to unity. Cheers for peace as a nation and as a planet.
You are so right J.S. - they / Bono have mastered the fine art of really pausing to respect and honour a fellow person who just has a big dream and wants to go for it. Cheers to you thank you for the kind words.
Yet, people get this impression that Bono is this “ego maniac”, which is clearly not true. An ego maniac would never invite this sort of thing. David Lee Roth would never be having this kind of “nonsense”… that’s how he would see this I did watch something where Bono did say that during ZOO TV he got a bit lost in himself… which I can easily see happening playing those elaborate of shows for the first time. But I think Bono also noticed that in himself and was able to snap back to reality
I remember meeting my favorite player, Bobby Orr at a Leaf game, and he was so generous and classy with his time. Nothing is better than to meet your hero's & they turn out to be everything you want them to be and more. You guys must have felt the same way meeting, and actually playing with U2 on stage. Memories are what life is all about, cherish them.
That's pretty freaking frightening lol wow impressive, I mean it's U2 and they're standing there watching you be them uh pretty cool of them to let them be them for a few minutes
A pity sports couldn't replicate this gesture, image going to watch your favourite team and with 10 minutes left they pluck you out of the crowd, stick a shirt on your back and make your dreams come true !
Mirror Ball man tell that's you , I saw your documentary ....you did it my friend your dream to be on stage with the mates has come true! God Bless you brother
Really the biggest piece of evidence that they didnt plan this - Edge was totally ready to start playing Every Breaking Wave on piano - Bono stopped him. If you watch here: ruclips.net/video/2UeqsjEQQZU/видео.html you will see this happen
U2 always embraces the irony! They seem to get we are not so big to let a great moment pass. For all the hate they get, they never get the attention for just being good decent guys.
Sorry but If I paid the money to see U2, the last thing I would want to see his is a tribute band pretend to be them. Look I totally get the band was gracious to help them out etc, but I could see them at a bar for free on a weekday night. This is NOT a knock on the tribute band at all. Good for them. I just don't get it. That's all. I can totally respect if anyone thinks I'm wrong. I get it. What if the person who paid $ to see U2 and it's their favorite band and Desire was thier favorite song, and a tribute band sang it??? Now please don't compare this to if a another famous musician guest stars on one of their songs. That's a bit different.
Just makes me love the band even more! If you were a true fan, you'd feel the same...if these true stars can stand at the edge of the stage and watch their fans' dreams come true, then I guess you can either watch or leave. They all seemed to be enjoying themselves.

Such respect.
Just Awesome, very happy for you. 🤗🤗🤗
Pretty gracious of U2 to do this for these guys pretty cool
This is every young kids dream to be a Rock Star and good on U2 for making these guys boyhood dreams come true
Never liked U2. Talented guys, just not my thing...BUT...this right here...THIS is amazing. What a thrill this must have been for the tribute act!

That was awesome! Kudos to U2, to give their tribute band the spotlight of a lifetime, it is the right thing to do. Other bands should do the same!
Good on U2 for letting these guys indulge in an amazing experience.
Was in the lower bowl for this night with U2.....Amazing energy! Really miss the live rock shows
Now thats a band that looks after its fans.

This is one more reason why BONO is awesome.
U2 as fanboys on their own show. Great act and great performance. Well done!

To think that, one of the members in that band, is my dad, it just makes it, that much more enjoyable to watch.
Oh WOW

George Plimpton did it, kind of
Man..If only Bono had said "these guys are EVEN BETTER THAN THE REAL THING"...it would have brought the house down.
Don't believe he would blow hot air, but true would have made people react.

cool to get rush up on stage with them
compare this to all the tech, props, gags and hoo haa they normally have and this little stunt smashes it... what cool guys all of you
We met Mark at BC Place for Joshua Tree 30th this past May, very nice guy!

Mike Mills and Peter Buck joined my R.E.M tribute band on stage at two different shows. Great guys!

Purely for my benefit, it the bass player the construction worker from the Village People?
I bet the u2 band members felt their job was in jeopardy 😛

The singer looks like a kid on Christmas morning
Bono's like that
Very much so! ;)
At 1.50 the piano wasn’t having it.

just look how the piano folded of stage wow, AND This proves that not anybody can do Bonos job only those who dress like him

Did Bono buy a ticket at your show?
